Connecticut Yankee Council Sends Scouts to the 2017 Jamboree

Redding, CT resident David Bohn took on the role of president at Preferred Utilities Manufacturing Corporation in 1995 after having held several positions at the company since 1987. David Bohn is also a philanthropist who supports several charities local to Redding, CT and beyond, including the Connecticut Yankee Council (CYC), the local chapter of the Boy Scouts of America.

  1. 1. CONNECTICUT YANKEE COUNCIL SENDS SCOUTS TO THE 2017 JAMBOREE David Bohn, Redding, CT

INTRODUCTION  Redding, CT resident David Bohn took on the role of president at Preferred Utilities Manufacturing Corporation in 1995 after having held several positions at the company since 1987. David Bohn is also a philanthropist who supports several charities local to Redding, CT and beyond, including the Connecticut Yankee Council (CYC), the local chapter of the Boy Scouts of America. The CYC is currently preparing for the 2017 Boy Scout National Jamboree, a two-week event that happens once every four years. The event comprises many outdoor events for First Class Scouts, from zip lining to mountain biking and whitewater rafting.
  3. 3. CONNECTICUT YANKEE COUNCIL  The CYC is able to send 306 youth participants along with 24 leaders to join around 40,000 others from all over the US and worldwide. The $17,000 cost for participants covers meals, transportation, and special equipment for the full two weeks. The 2017 Jamboree will be held at the event’s permanent home, a 10,600-acre area next to the New River Gorge National River in West Virginia.
