This document discusses the convergence of web, desktop, and mobile applications. It notes that internet usage has grown tremendously, with over 475 million internet users globally in 2008. Mobile phones have also proliferated, with over 1 trillion shipped by 2007. However, convergence has been difficult to achieve due to the many variations in mobile phone platforms and screens. Some examples of convergence mentioned are using mobile devices to integrate SAP applications and voicemail into email, as well as tools for team collaboration across desktop, web and mobile.
