Different cloud types explained

  1. 1. Different Cloud Types Explained
  2. 2. There are 3 types of Clouds  PUBLIC CLOUD  PRIVATE CLOUD  HYBRID CLOUD
  3. 3. Public Cloud  Forerunner of all cloud computing technology and is accessible to the general public  Provided for free  Used for simple computing tasks & data storage  Types of services in private cloud can be:  Document Creation,  Sharing and Collaboration,  Data storage Note: It is mostly used by individuals, although companies can make use of the cloud storage options that are provided.
  4. 4. Private Cloud  Access to these clouds is restricted  One must subscribe to the service in order to be able to use  User needs to pay a monthly or yearly subscription fee  Are better secured and the user is able to customize the kind of service  A wider range of services from storage to software platforms, infrastructure, and even security services  More reliable Note: The advantage of these clouds is that they are better secured
  5. 5. Hybrid Cloud  Created by linking private and public clouds together  Commonly used by companies who want to access resources on public clouds while also keeping the main part of the cloud infrastructure private.  This enables the business to share part of its resources and data with other companies  Advantage of enabling the business to scale up cloud access by using public resources Note: It can save you quite a bit of money than just scaling up their private resources.
  6. 6. Conclusion  All these cloud computing systems provide many benefits to businesses: • large capital expenditures become a thing of the past • Information can be accessed from anywhere • Time is freed up for your IT department, just to name a few
