1. Exercise Word 9: On Your Own - Letter & Template
What you will do:
Create a letter of your
own
create your own letter
template and save it
Start with: , Show Marks is on.
a. Create a letterhead template. You may modify an existing template if
you wish.
Include at least:
 A Word Art logo
 A text box
 Your name and address [Return address]
 A Date field
 Temporary text for inside address [recipient's address],
salutation, and body
 A closing and your own signature
b. Add a header with your name, date, Exercise Word 8
c. Save your template to the word folder with a name using your initials
and then myletter, like jes-myletter.dot
d. Save it to your Drive D disk in the word folder with the same
name as above.
e. Print the template and close it.
f. Open a new document using your new template and write a complete
letter.
g. Save the letter to your Class disk as myletter.doc in the word

2. folder.
h. Print the letter. (Since you saved the template with the header info
included, it is part of the letter already!)
