3. 1. Literature with the King in Siam
• In Siam, citizen can't meeting the king easily. In this movie Anna
tried to see the King by force, despite that the guard may prevent
it because it is not acceptable in Siam habits. Also, she tried
impose their will on the King. And that the king is the only one
who issues orders and the rest only responds to commands. This
partly because of the high power distance between the king and
citizens in Siamese culture. On other hand, in English culture
there is no high power distance between boss and others roles
(Hofstede).

5. 2. Education in Siam culture
• In Siam, think that the education is important. In this movie the
King said to Anna " each one of these is my hope in the future".
While Anna surprised because the king depend the education only
his to 58 children. This partly because of the long term orientation
and that's means tends to savings and thinking a lot for future. On
other hand, in English culture little thinking to save for the future
such as education and hospital roles (Hofstede).

7. 3. Buddhists beliefs
• In Siam, Buddhists have a lot of beliefs about life. In this movie
Buddhists think that all the life is suffering and high sounds crying
brings ghosts. Also, beliefs and myths that protect and avoid them
from the British. This partly because of the uncertainty Avoidance
Index and that means uncomfortable and sure about something.
However, in English culture have also this fictional beliefs roles
(Hofstede).

9. 4. Saying sorry to a woman
• In Siam, men's don't say for women's sorry. In this movie Louis said
for his mom sorry and the son of king tell to Louis that is against
our culture because Siamese men's never say sorry for woman's.
This partly because of the strong Masculinity versus Femininity in
Siamese culture. On other hand, in English culture does not have
this difference roles (Hofstede).

11. 5. Showing loyalty and respect to the King
• In Siam, citizens are showing loyalty to the king. In this movie all
the citizens should put his forehead on the ground and never see
the king. This partly because of the strong power distance in
Siamese culture. On other hand, in English culture does not have
this high power, they just curvature of the body with respect.
