37 Primary-College Students in Ekhlaspur and Johilabad
who have passion for study and whose family as well.
Choose most of them from BKP students and BKP applicants
<When? -Research term>
1week 17.5-22.5
<How? -Research style>
Visiting students’ houses and interview them and their family.
Interpreter : Foyez-bhai, SIFE-Bhai

-Why do you need scholarship ? How do you want to use it ?
-How often do you go to school ? How is your score?
-Do you have any future vision ? Why ? Do you know other job ?

Every dream could be changed.
The important is
Pursuing dream opens next dream.
So we have to create environment where
everyone could pursue whatever dream they have at that moment.

BKP applicants (not BKP student)
-Family monthly income : 2,000tk
-Financial Resource : Father, Farmer
-Family : Father, mother, 1 brother, 1 sister
<Future Vision>
She wants to become a doctor and develop her village medical situation.
But doesn’t know how to become in detail and about other jobs.
<About study>
She can go to school everyday. Good score.
<Scholarship reason>
500tk is needed monthly. For private teacher (because school has no enough teacher. 1subject = 200tk)
and other instruments (exam cost, exercise book, school dress)
<Anxiety about future /summery of student and parent views>
To become what she want to, anyway she has to get good score and go to university.
Actually she can go to primary school but she and her mother have big anxiety
whether she can go to high school and college and get good score or not.

10. Shahanaz (12) class 6
BKP student

-Financial Resource : Support by uncle
-Family : Mother, 1 brother, 2 sisters
<Future Vision>
She doesn’t decide yet, but thinking about doctor or teacher.
She wants to study and know about our society and world more.
But her family is very poor, so she might be house worker after high school.

She can go to school everyday. Good score.
<Scholarship reason>
Now she is BKP student.
She use it for school cost (exam cost, exercise book, school dress)
<Anxiety about future /summery of student and parent views>
She and her family hope to continue to study in college.
But her family financial situation might prevent her from going to college
and makes her house worker.

11. Nobir (15) class 9
BKP student
-Family monthly income : 2,500tk
-Financial Resource : Father, Daily labor
-Family : Father, mother, 1 brother

He is not sure about his future.
He imagine that he might be like her father

She can go to school everyday. Score is not bad.
<Scholarship reason>
Now he is BKP student.
She use it for private teacher

He has no vision about his future.
But He wants to go to college if possible.

12. Parvin (18) HSC finisher

-Financial Resource : Father, small shop keeper
-Family : Father, mother, 3 brothers, 2sister
<Future Vision>
In the future, she wants to become an ideal teacher and provide best education to Ekhlaspur.
That’s why she wants to go to university and become successful person.
She wants to go to Dhaka University and use E-education coaching.
<About study>
She finished commerce course and got “A” HSC.
<Anxiety about future /summery of student and parent views>
She is very talented student.
But she cannot go to coaching center and might not go to university
because of her family financial problem.

About Private Teacher Class (PTC) – PTC is indispensable system in Ekhlaspur
Most of primary and high school students in Ekhlaspur use Private Teacher Class (PTC).
Most of applicants as well (22/24 Ekhlaspur BKPs !)
And also almost all reasons why BKP applicants need scholarship is for PTC.
Because school has not enough teachers.
So students need personal question time and private coaching.
PTC is also needed for school teachers
because their salary is very low (this is one of the reason why school has no teacher).
So PTC is precious income resource for them.
In conclusion, PTC is indispensable community system in Ekhlaspur.
So, Everyone needs PTC.

15. Summary
(1) Almost all primary and high school students can go to school
and some of them is very smart and talented.
(2) There is no information about future plan for students in Ekhlaspur.
(3) Every student needs Private Teacher Class.
They need scholarship for this.
(4) Almost all BKP students and applicants (actually poor students)
have no capacity to go to college.
(5) When it comes to Coaching center and University,
Almost all students cannot imagine it.
