2. April 2010 Apple released the first iPad, and sold 3 million units in 80 days.During 2010, Apple sold 14.8 million iPadsworldwide. Representing 75 percent of tablet PC sales by the end of 2010 the iPad showed dominance over the tablet market.

3. At first it was labeled as an entertainment device where one was able to read, play, watch or listen to anything available on iTunes or via the web.

4. It soon caught on to schools and was used as an educational tool.

5. The workforce and professional establishments began to see its potential and so it’s purpose and importance began to transform.

6. Toddler applications were introduced showing that age was not a factor.

7. The simple interface and friendly user navigations were simple enough for the elder as well.

8. Though the tablet market is in it’s infancy, iPad has shown that it is a versatile mobile device that has many uses in our ever growing technological advanced world.
