  6. 6. Simple Sentence: Independent Clause with Adv. Phrase ( verb) • Example – After the long run, John fell asleep. adv. ph – John fell asleep after the long run. adv. ph.
  7. 7. Simple Sentence: Independent Clause with Adv. Phrase ( adj.) • Example – The man was scared of wolves. adv. ph.
  8. 8. Simple Sentence: -Ing Opener and Independent Clause • Example – Walking home, she realized that she had left her keys at work.
