identified personnel in your organizational chart.
Job Descriptions
• Board of Trustees - exercise educational leadership and draft policies for
the operation of local schools; determine educational standards and goals
and evaluate the outcomes; approve curriculum; secure money for school
operational needs and authorize specific expenditures; approve the
budget
• Superintendent of Schools – administers policies in the operation of
schools; advisor in keeping the Board informed of the needs and progress
of the schools; his recommendations precede Board action relating to
instructional material and development of curriculum
• Associate Superintendent – (Technology & School Services) –
responsible for disseminating and enforcing applicable district policies and
acceptable use guidelines; ensures that employees supervising students
emphasize the appropriate use of the resource; ensure all software loaded
on computers is consistent with district standards and is properly licensed
• Director Tech/Support Services – ensures technology/support services to
the district
• Director of Information Services - ensures information services to district
• Director Instructional Tech - ensures integration of technology in the
classrooms by providing materials, resources, and training

3. Discuss the role of the principal in making sure the organizational chart
is implemented and monitored.
The principal has the task of collaborating with everyone involved to ensure that
the goals are implemented and evaluated. The principal must align the CIP with
that of the DIP. The principal is responsible for seeing that all staff receives
professional development in the technology area and learns to integrate the
technology into their lessons and assignments. The principal must read and
analyze data-driven documents to find the schools strengths and weaknesses.
Any deficient areas must be addressed and goals for improvement must be set.
The principal must continually collaborate with personnel both at the campus and
district levels.

technology improvements, develop professional development activities

Need: The district has a continuing need to maintain and increase the level of
professional development necessary to assist teachers in using technology
effectively in the teaching and learning process.
Goal: Provide school district staff with opportunities to learn how to appropriately
integrate technology as a tool utilizing collaborative, interactive and customized
learning environments in an effort to achieve the Target Tech level in the Texas
STaR chart.
Objectives:
- increase content of professional development to Target Tech level by
providing teachers opportunities to participate in the development of
technology skills
- strategies to create new learning environments that empower students to
think critically to solve real-world problems and collaborate with experts

PDAS Teacher Evaluations: The PDAS has a section to evaluate the teacher
for the use and integration of technology into the lesson. Evaluation will include
direct observations of teachers activities in the classroom, examinations of the
work products, written data.
