Environmental values. When I first think of these words I think, what do I believe in in terms of
the environment? What do I want to do to help the environment? And frankly there is so many
experiences that shape my environmental values that I have quite a few. But before I dive into what
exactly my values are, why do I even value the environment to begin with? Simply put the
environment is our home, it is where we reside and live our lives, without it we would not exist. As

The middle school I attended was also a gold eco school and one of their projects was called GOOS.
GOOS stands for "Good on one side" which still today I implement wherever I go. This mindset
stuck with me all the way here to Waterloo in my dorm, but not at such a high volume as most of my
documents are online so I do not have a need to print or use paper. However, an exception would be
when I edit essays. I like to print essays out to edit by hand as it is more effective by paper and pen
for me. To solve this problem, I try to edit the paper once by myself in one colour and having a peer
proofread/suggest in another colour so I do not end up printing several versions. If I felt I really
needed to edit a second time, I reprint my new version but on the back of the initial paper so I can
flip through my edits easily while saving paper in the process. On the other hand, it is also highly
possible that if I see a very appealing and adorable notepad, I'll feel a need to buy it. If that becomes
the case I try to use each piece effectively, applying the GOOS rule and use it sparingly so I do not
feel the need to buy a new one. Luckily, the idea of GOOS has not left the back of my mind for a
while and is something I try my best to always implement

I especially admire how it is suggested that in our virtual campus we do not need to get dressed,
hire a babysitter, drive to class, find a parking space, go to class to earn a degree (Bethel, 2014,
p.4). However, we do have to put in time to read our material that is provided to us (READ
section), watch a video in our ATTEND section, complete our assignments and communicate with
our fellow classmates. Just because we are not being present in a classroom we still have to do the
work to earn our grades. The best tip from our Read section, I think, is to pay attention to word
count requirements and also to treat the Discuss forum with seriousness because it is apart of our
academic learning. I always copy and paste assignment instructions into Google Doc to begin my
thinking, research, writing and proofreading. Making time to read and do the assignments is
another great tip I am going to use. Planning out a specific time and place for me to adhere to my
online learning schedule is how I will apply this and make myself be aware of my time being used
with the thought of working towards my goals.

Are you going to personally try to adhere to all of the tips that our Read section suggests? I think
that my main concern is paying attention to citing references used correctly, time management
and deadlines, and paying very close attention to word counts. Yes, these things are common
sense, to a certain degree. I feel that academic writing is something nobody is blessed with
because it is something we learn. I try to refer to the Purdue/OWL website to help me sometimes.
A newly suggested site called Paperrater.com is very easy to use to spell check and plagiarism
check. Our facilitator suggested Paperrater.com and I really like how easy it is to use! I plan on
using it

My Video Editing Experience
A long time I decided to live the zombie life as a video editor and during that time I had to
experience a lot of workflow to get good at it. In the beginning of learning it was difficult and
there were so many different programs to edit with, but during the time I did not know about
which were professional or not. For example, when I first started I used a program called Window
Movie Maker, and without doubt it was not very useful since there were only limited tools that the
program holds; Since I did not know any better at the time I easily continued to work with the
program for a couple months, which was the most difficult start of my experience. For example,
there were obstacles such as slow render, 15 effects or less, and very rigid transitions from clips to
clips. When it came to actual editing, I was amateurish as well, but that's normal for anyone that's
new to a hobby that they want to learn by experience; The way I synched the lyrics or beats to my
clips were off at first, as well as the quality, which was poor. In fact, I did not even know how to
discover a source to download the type of footage I worked with at the time. After 3 or 4 months
of editing, I finally made my first friend that does the same hobby as me, and he then helped me
locate high quality clips. My friend was from Germany and of course I was from the United States,

Air Flow Rig – Pitot Static Tube & Venturi Meter Introduction In this report I will use a
pitot–static tube and a Venturi meter set up within an air flow rig to demonstrate the application of
Bernoulli's Equation and the assumption of inviscid flow. The air flow rig was set up and an
imaginary matrix was defined across the cross sectional area of the air flow at the pitot–static
section. The matrix had 4 cells going across (A, B, C, and D) the width and 5 cells down the height

Genome editing is a huge leap forward in science and medicine. Because of recent advances in
technology, the study of genes and induced 'point' mutations have led to the discovery and
advancement of methods previously used in order to mutate genes. The development of Clusters

invaders. 83% of archaeal genomes and 45% of bacterial genomes (Shabbir, M. et al, 2016) were
shown to be able to successfully utilize the CRISPR Cas9 system. These are very promising
statistics, so it is no wonder that there has been such an advancement in the past few years to bring
this technology to eukaryotic cells, mammalian cells and eventually human cells.
With the rate and volume that new experiments and experimental procedures are being tried and
tested, it can be expected that a Nobel Prize will soon be won for the discovery and advancement of

Essay On Tutoring Experience
Since beginning my peer tutoring placement I have performed new and unique tasks on a daily
basis. At the start of the semester I primarily circulated the classroom explaining concepts to students
and answering their questions. As the semester progressed my activities have been refined to be
more efficient and effective at helping individual students. With the assistance of Ms. Randle I have
been able to pinpoint individual students that would benefit the most from my assistance. These
students all have unique individual needs that I try to fine–tune my assistance to accommodate. I
constantly strive to better understand each individual's learning skills.
One example of a way I accommodate a certain student is by reading and writing for him. Early in
the semester, it was noticed that this student struggled to get work done. This was not due to a lack
of understanding but instead due to issues writing down his ideas and reading the material. Ms.
Randle recommended that I focus my attention primarily on him as he needed the most one–on–one
help of all the students in the class. Additionally, it was noted that without my assistance he was in
jeopardy of failing the class.

Portfolio My Portfolio is composed of many masterpiece's of invaluable strength. From my weak
first essay to my last, you can see my writing skills increasing while reading an intuitive piece.
Over the year my view on how I should go into writing a paper has changed dramatically for the
greater good. Paperrater, Mr.Rase, and Peers gave me insight on what I had done great

Credibility is the most important when defending, or fighting for an argument. I first created my

Objectives The purpose of this experiment was to familiarize students with the open channel flume
and to calibrate the flume orifice using hydraulic principles. Additionally, it was intended to develop
an expression that relates the flow rate through an orifice to the pressure differential head provided
by a digital manometer. Furthermore, the experiment procedures enabled the students to learn the
orifice equation and its practical applications.
Results
The laboratory experiment results are as shown in the excel sheet below: Figure 1: A graph of

The equation obtained from the graph is: y = 0.0304x0.4832
Therefore, the values of coefficients "a" and "b" are: a = 0.0304 b = 0.4832

head. This is also supported by the fact that the graph was linear.
