SCIENTIX- the community for science teachers in Europe
1.
2. The community for science education in
Europe is funded under the European
Union's Seventh Framework Framework for
Research and Development.
Scientix collects and promotes best
practices in science teaching and learning in
Europe, and organises trainings and
workshops for STEM
3. Educational portals such as Scientix,
eTwinning, inGenious, GoLab, etc. are
tailored to the needs of young people as a
blended learning method which links VET
and general secondary education. All of
these can help reduce ESL.
4. - Teaching resources, learning
resources exchange, training
courses and reports related to STEM
education.
- News and Events related to STEM
Scientix Live - Here you will find
information about face to face
activities organized by Scientix (e.g.
workshops in European Schoolnet’s
Future Classroom Lab or at other
venues) and Scientix contributions to
conferences, workshops and other
events.
- Projects (based on Science
education)
- Community- Here you will find
about networking projects, online
meeting room, discussion forum,
community of practice and Scientix
5. Change needs to occur at
grassroots; so schools must
be a primary focus of new
programmes to enhance
curriculum, pedagogy and
assessment in the field of
STEM.
To conclude, there are plenty
of opportunities in Europe-e.
g. Scientix- which are
perfect starting points for
tackling the problem of STEM
education in a more systemic
and efficient way
