Intro

   In 2004, I was the 5th employee of Axis
    Technology, LLC, a boutique IT strategy consulting
    firm.
   Less than 2 years later, I‟d moved from Boston to NYC
    to set up the Manhattan office, and the company was
    the second-fastest growing in MA.

Experience

   During my 6+ years with Axis, I wore many hats –
    including launching engagements at clients sites while
    developing company sales material.
   In those years, I helped the firm develop a new area of
    expertise – data masking – into a sophisticated
    service and product offering.

Purpose

 The following samples are all related to 1 topic: data
   masking. Together, they demonstrate the:
      Range of duties I performed, including writing, visual
       design, information architecture/flow, business
       analysis, project management, and business development
       support.
      Variety of mediums I am proficient in – from web sites and
       narrated screen-casts for training, to logos and glossy print
       brochures.
      Customization of formats I achieved
       (tone, length, delivery, etc.) to accommodate very different
       audiences – from techies to management, from contractors to
       customers.
         Each sample answers a specific branding or messaging question.

“What is it?”

 I helped educate clients and colleagues through
   words and pictures:

“How is it done?”

 I helped define and thoroughly document the 5-step
   process, including developing protocol tools and
   producing „cookbook‟-style manuals:

“How do we brand it?”

 I created a logo to symbolize the data masking
   process, and icons for its tools and steps:
      This basic design, in the original color scheme, was customized
       for different client engagements.
      The binary numbers locked away spell the word „data‟ in ASCII
       code.

 I created the presentation given at the New York
   Oracle Users Group Conference 2009, including
   writing the speaker‟s script:

“How do we demo the software?”

 Writing, capturing, narrating and editing screen-
   casts (screen action) for sales and training purposes
   is a longtime specialty:
      I also helped name the product DMsuite.

 I customized everything from sophisticated Excel
   documents to SharePoint-based dashboards in order to
   report progress and metrics to different clients:

   printing the company name, core theme, service
   offerings and related industry phrases on M&Ms:

Experience  During my 6+ years with Axis, I wore many hats – including launching engagements at clients sites while developing company sales material.  In those years, I helped the firm develop a new area of expertise – data masking – into a sophisticated service and product offering. Together, they demonstrate the:  Range of duties I performed, including writing, visual design, information architecture/flow, business analysis, project management, and business development support.  Variety of mediums I am proficient in – from web sites and narrated screen-casts for training, to logos and glossy print brochures.  Customization of formats I achieved (tone, length, delivery, etc.) to accommodate very different audiences – from techies to management, from contractors to customers.  Each sample answers a specific branding or messaging question.
