2. Lao Tzu 老子
Lao Tzu was the person who first started Taoism.
He used to work as a librarian for the Chinese
Emperor.
He wrote down his ideas in a book called the Tao Te
Ching ( 道德經 ).
3. Part of first chapter of the Tao Te
Ching
Lao Tsu believed that the way to happiness is to go with the flow.
Instead of trying to get things done the hard way, people should
take the time to do things the easy way.
Everything in the universe that is alive shared the life force.
4. 陰陽
Yin And Yang
This is the symbol of Yin and
Yang
Yin and Yang is the central idea of Taoism. Yin means
female. It represents night, evil and bad while Yang
means heaven, light, male and good. Yin is black and
Yang is white.
5. What is the
Tao?
Tao means the "way" or the "path".
We are all part of the Tao.
Taoism is a philosophy or way of
life.
6. The true Tao is above words and beyond description.
It is something that can only be experienced, not
understood through taking lessons or going to school.
True believers would therefore say that this presentation
is meaningless :-)
