3. What is a simple present tense of a verb?
It is used to express habits,
general truths, repeated actions or
unchanging situations, emotions
and wishes.
Example:
1. I brush my teeth everyday. (Expresses Habit)
2. The Earth revolves around the sun.(Expresses
general truth)
3. Open the packet and pour the contents into hot
water. (Give instructions or directions)
4. The last bus leaves at 6:30 pm. (Expresses fix
arrangements)

4. EXERCISE: Identify the verb in every
sentence.
1. My mother makes delicious cakes.
2. Alice wants to go abroad.
3. Daniel works for an insurance company.
4. The boy solved the puzzle in a few
minutes.

5.  Remember that a verb must agree with its
subject in person and in number
a. A singular subject takes a singular
verb. Most of the time, a singular verb ends with s
