Enrico Grazzi “The potential of Web 2.0 as a teaching/learning tool”
This session shows the pedagogical potential of web interactivity as regards ELT. It is assumed that on-line
communication provides learners with fresh input and enhances the authentic use of English ad a Lingua
Franca. More importantly, social networks foster the creation of a cross-cultural community among young
people, supporting mutual understanding and sharing.

Elisabetta Burchietti “Wiki for email exchange: a project to enhance communicative
skills in a low tech school”
A wiki is an innovative web application that allows users to freely create and edit Web page content. It is
particularly useful for collaborative projects, such as an email exchange that was carried out with two 5th
grade classes in a primary school with very little access to technology. This workshop will show how to
make use of wikis and emails so that students of all ages can increase their communicative competences in
English.

Letizia Cinganotto – Daniela Cuccurullo “Le@rning by digital doing”
Developments in the Internet and in multimedia technologies are resulting in new approaches to designing
and developing teaching and learning, focusing on the changes within individual and group relationships
and identities, through different approaches to educational time and space. The workshop seeks to analyse
the potentialities of technology based teaching and learning for ESL teachers and students, as far as its
didactic value is concerned, and to explore new ways of using I.C.T. in the classroom, such as the blog, the
forum, the podcast, the digital storytelling, the social software and Second Life.

Lucilla Lopriore “Language corpora in the foreign language classroom: developing oral
interaction”
This seminar is aimed at introducing foreign language teachers to the use of language corpora in the
classroom with a special focus on the development of learners’ spoken language. Ideas, resources and
guidelines for using corpus information will be provided in order to enhance learners’ awareness of the
spoken language and to develop their interactive skills.
