Are you looking for a new way to relax, enjoy the outdoors, visit interesting destinations, and spend time with friends and family? Geocaching uses GPS units, maps, and clues to locate hidden caches all over the world. Adults and youth over 12 are invited to learn how to use a GPS unit to find several caches at Havenwoods. We have units to lend.

Drawing in Nature

From leaves to landscapes, or whatever your skill level may be, join us to draw in nature. Hit the trails with a Havenwoods naturalist to express your creative side and sketch objects in the outdoors. Get inspired by nature while drawing in a relaxing environment.
The program is for adults and youth age 12 and older.

Bat Hike
Tuesday, July 8, 8:00-9:30pm
Join Havenwoods staff for a twilight bat hike. We’ll spend a short time inside learning about Wisconsin’s bats. Then we’ll head outside with a bat detector to listen for bats and collect data for the Wisconsin DNR.
The program is for adults and youth age 12 and older.
Call if weather is questionable. Rain date set for July 10.

Looking for a free meal? A surprising number of wild edible plants exist in the city. Join us as we search for these common plants at Havenwoods and learn how to identify them.
The program is for adults and youth age 12 and older.

6. Willow Plant Tower
Saturday, November 22, 9am-1pm
Weave a small conical tower (~1’ x 4’) for your holiday lights or next year’s climbing plants. You’ll use willow cut at Havenwoods and learn how and where it grows. The tower is sturdy, functional, and fun to make! To register, call 414-527-0232 or email judy.klippel@wi.gov by November 7. Cost is $5. Make checks out to Friends of Havenwoods.
