5. 5. Justification
Project originally funded by JISC
Designed to be used by HE
Ethos of project v.similar to OER, from final project rep and final sustainability plans:
Designed for reuse and adaption, for collaboration across sector for further development of resources
9. 9. Following the IPR trail cont.
SFC did not choose to retain copyright
From investigation, IPR appears to remain with the individual institutions that released the resources, so potentially would have to go to each to request re-release
10. 10. Encouraging signs
All original project members and funding/management bodies able to be contacted have strongly endorsed the move
(Unconfirmed, but…) no third-party material included in resources – project policy
Dundee looking at reviewing its licensing policy for material in Jorum, and Creative Commons looks to be a front-runner
Have offered input on this
Member of our Advisory Board is Dean of L&T in relevant dept at Dundee
Have now managed to obtain project documentation on:
IPR Management Policy
IPR Operational Guide
Investigation is ongoing…
11. 11. Classification as Orphan Works
Last resort
Doesn’t seem appropriate currently, based on the contact we’ve now made and what we’ve uncovered so far
Although, given that the Interactive University has now closed down, something to consider…though further investigation req’d
