New Events for 2013 – Santa Monica

Santa Monica & BritWeek on the Third Street Promenade: Downtown Santa Monica and
BritWeek will host an exciting two day public event on May 4th and 5th on the Third Street
Promenade. This lively festival will engage Santa Monica residents (which has the largest
British population in the area), surrounding community, and visitors.

With an overarching flower theme, the event will allow for booths along the pedestrian-only
promenade to engage with the community through education, competitions, demonstrations,
and more.

This event offers a fantastic opportunity to engage your brand with thousands of people that
live in or are visiting this popular LA destination, including a huge expatriate community.
New Events for 2013 – Architecture

BritWeek is delighted to announce that this year it will add a substantial architecture program to
engage with the design community, including architects, interior designers, style leaders, and
more.

As part of this program, Stephen Gee will release his book on British-born architect John
Parkinson as part of BritWeek 2013. John Parkinson was instrumental in building much of
Downtown LA in the early 1900s, including Bullocks Wilshire, City Hall, Union Station, and
more. Stephen’s book is the first published book on Parkinson’s work, and will be part of a
larger, exciting focus on the influence of the UK on LA architecture and design.

This program will be an exciting addition to the BritWeek calendar, and represents a fantastic
opportunity for British brands to gain exposure to the Los Angeles design community.
New Events for 2013 – UK Music Festival

BritWeek is delighted to announce that for 2013, we have partnered with Spaceland
Presents to produce a UK Music Festival.

Spaceland Presents has long been known as an innovative concert production company.
Founded in 1993 by promoter Mitchell Frank, Spaceland Presents hosted earliest L.A.
performances by Beck, FooFighters, Arcade Fire, Elliott Smith, White Stripes, Black
Keys, Artic Monkeys, and Weezer, among many others.

The BritWeek Music Festival will feature established and up-and-coming musical artists
concentrated on Saturday, April 27th with possible extensions to Friday and/or Sunday. It
will be held at one of Spaceland’s own venues, ranging from 700 to 7,000 in capacity.

This will be a truly creative experience, engaging the LA art & culture community with the
latest UK talent. Substantial pre-event marketing, social media outreach, and unique
sponsor presence on the day of the event, provides a unique platform for brand
engagement to thousands of art, music, and cultural tastemakers.
