Cabri Geometry is a commercial
interactive geometry software
produced by the French company
Cabrilog for teaching and learning
geometry and trigonometry. It was
designed with ease-of-use in mind.
The program allows the user to
animate geometric figures, proving a
significant advantage over those
drawn on a blackboard.
Relationships between points on a
geometric object may easily be
demonstrated, which can be useful in
the learning process.
There are also graphing and
display functions which allow
exploration of the connections
between geometry and algebra.
The program can be run under
Windows or the Mac OS.
Cabri II Plus is a dynamic geometry
software solution that comes in
handy for both math teachers and
students. Providing you with a
virtual learning environment, this
interactive tool can assist you in
learning high-level math concepts.
The learning curve is smooth and
students can also use the built-in
assistant to learn how things work.
You can use Cabri II Plus to draw and
manipulate all sorts of geometrical
figures, from simple lines, circles or
triangles to complex 3D shapes.
Create intersection points, add lines,
segments, vectors or polygons, circles
and arcs. The program allows you to
build the geometrical structure by
automatically generating
perpendicular or parallel lines,
drawing angle bisectors or measure
angles using the virtual compass.
You can freely manipulate objects,
make conjectures and perform
calculations. The application can be
used for solving symmetry, reflection
and translation problems, rotate
objects, measure areas, distances,
lengths and angles and solve
equations.
Cabri II Plus eases the learning
process, as students can add labels
to their figures, define and evaluate
expressions, mark angles and
attach pictures to their drawing.
Furthermore, the program allows
you to easily draw graphs for
different functions, as well as
display loci of points or objects.
The software comes with a fully
customizable appearance, enabling
you to change text style and use the
dynamic palette to adjust the
object colors. In addition to this, it
can easily record a session as you
use the program, a feature that
comes in handy mostly for
teachers.
The figures you create can be
transferred to TI graphing
calculators or exported to Word
and PowerPoint documents.
Overall, Cabri II Plus is a great
replacement for the traditional pen and
paper, allowing students to with pencil,
paper, ruler, and compass! Cabri II Plus
offers a wide range of powerful, easy-to-
use features. You can draw and
manipulate plane and solid figures, from
the simplest to the most complex.
Freely manipulate figures at any
stage to test the construction,
make conjectures, measure or
remove objects, calculate, make
changes, or start all over again
Cabri II Plus is cutting-edge tool for
teaching and learning geometry,
designed for teachers as well as for
students at all levels, from elementary
school to university. Software
recognized by experts in pedagogy,
specifically for its simplicity of use and
solid educational foundation.

CREATING YOUR FIRST CABRI 3D
DOCUMENT
Double-click on the Cabri 3D v2
icon. The program will automatically
create a single-page document
containing a work area that is a white
area with a gray base plane in the center.
YOUR FIRST 3D CONSTRUCTION
First you will construct two
three-dimensional objects. This
will illustrate a number of Cabri
3D functions.
Constructing a sphere A
toolbar at the top of the Cabri 3D
document window provides a
series of toolboxes. Click and hold
the Surfaces toolbox (4th button
from the left) and choose Sphere
from the dropdown menu.
The mouse pointer changes into a
pencil.
Click once about 1 cm to the left
of the base plane’s center point,
then click again about 2 cm to the
left of the fi rst point.
To modify the sphere, click on the
Manipulation.
To change the size of the sphere,
use the mouse to click and drag

Manipulation.
To change the size of the sphere,
use the mouse to click and drag
either the first or second point that
you constructed.
To move the sphere, select it and
drag it to a new position using the
mouse.
You have constructed a sphere!
