Flipkart Seller App /
Key Inisights
Insights from existing system of
sellers.
Seller’s Problem Area & Concerns
Constrain in their line of business
• Image capturing and wri1ng might be the most
difficult tasks to perform by seller by knowing their
limita1on of skills.
• Social responsibility at store for customer support
would be a barrier to do online store ac1vity.
• Some of the stores have space limita1on. In this case,
it would be a challenge to set up a photography desk.
• Higher resolu1on mobile camera would be another
constraint to capture good quality product images.
• Main ac1vi1es of sellers include help customers,
arranging products and stock maintenance.
• Most of the visitors visit either in weekends or on
fes1val 1me. They have free 1me in weekdays such
that they could u1lize this 1ming for selling online
their products.
• It is always uncertain that when a customer would
visit the store. Thus, they have to be ready any1me
customer visits the store.
• Though their educa1on is below 12th standard, they
are quite familiar with computerized billing using
barcode scanner and payment through credit or
debit card. Moreover, they use smart phone and
various apps.
• Sellers are good at speaking in English. However, due
to low educa1on, it might be difficult for them write
in English language.
• Sellers are familiar with smartphone and apps.
However, it would be a challenge for them to
capture images with clarity and good background.
• As they could not predict the customer flow on their
physical store, they might be more chances of
interrup1on while doing ac1vity on online store such
as lis1ng product, order management and shipping.
• One of the major challenges is shipping. Since they
have be at store 1ll 9 or 9:30 PM.

1. Last Saved Feature: It is always uncertain that when a
customer would visit the store. Thus, they have to be
ready anyBme customer visits the store. So, even if
customer visits while uploading product, seller need not
have to worry about data that is already added.
2. As we are aware that there might be physical
constraints or mobile camera limitaBon, it we product a
camera tool that helps them to capture images with good
visibility then it would be increase their confidence on
product image quality and it would definitely have effect
on selling.
3. Product Name SuggesBons: As sellers might not be
effecBve in wriBng a product name, we could suggest
names based on keywords they type in Enter Product
Name field.
4. Auto & Editable Product DescripBon: As sellers might
not be effecBve in wriBng product descripBon, we could
suggest product descripBon based on product category
and sub-category. It would not only help them to reduce
Bme for adding product, but also facilitatesthem to add
products regardless their wriBng skills.
