I'm neither a manager nor a management consultant, but I've been the boots on the ground for several years. These are my observations of what are the 3 most dangerous phrases in business.

2. "We've always done it this way"
01
This is one sure way of knowing that the company culture is
focused on protecting a bureaucracy by preserving and
protecting itself.
It kills employee morale by telling talented employees their
new ideas and creativity are not welcome.
With the world changing at an exponentially increasing rate,
this is a surefire way of getting left behind.
3. "That won't work in our industry"
02
This is indicative of a closed mind. With so many changes
happening in the world, most jobs and industries require
employees with skills and capabilities across disciplines.
With some innovation and creative thinking, ideas and
solutions from other industries can be applied to yours.
4. "That's not my job"
03
This is often a sign of a disgruntled or zombie worker.
They likely see no future for themselves at the company
and steps should be taken to either engage them or
failing which, to let them go.
However, it may also be a sign of a frustrated worker
tired of being the self-sacrificing fool, doing the difficult,
risky work while their freeloading colleagues coast along.
