I came across the SAMR model as part of my studies and while it did seem like a great model to adopt, I realised that the peer reviewed literature I came across on it all seemed to cite Dr Ruben Puentedura's blog instead of a peer reviewed piece of literature by him.

  6. 6. REFLECTING ON THE SAMR MODEL
  7. 7. THE GOOD The SAMR model is a simple guide, that is easy to gauge. It provides a framework for educators to incorporate technology into their teaching.
  8. 8. THE BAD There seems to be a lack of peer reviewed literature on SAMR. The papers I've come across on SAMR only cite Dr Ruben Puentedura's blog in the references. (http://hippasus.com/blog/)
  9. 9. THE UGLY Given the absence of context in the SAMR model, it is possible to reach the "Redefinition" level yet make no significant improvements to learning.
