Present progressive
   Use the Present progressive to express
    the idea that something is happening
    now, at this exact moment.

   It is called “present progressive”
    because the action is in progress
Present progressive examples



Anna is eating a banana       Mike is drinking a beer




Mary is cooking spaghetti   The boy is playing with toys
Present progressive
   The present progressive is composed
    of 2 parts:

     The present of verb to be + the present
    participle of the main verb (verb ending
    in –ing)

        Subject     To be     Verb + ing
         She          is        talking
Example with the verb “play”
 Subject       To be       verb -ing
     I          am          playing
   You          are         playing
He, She, It      is         playing
   We           are         playing
   You          are         playing
  They          are         playing
