1. My name is Maaruf Hussain, a Nigerian. Currently doing my MS degree at King Fahd
University of Petroleum and Minerals Saudi Arabia.
To become a professional Geoscientist has always been my burning dream and
inspiration in life. I love to live my life earning a living providing practical consulting
services to the government and others, with special interest in identifying and helping
to mentor and develop young Africans through teaching at the highest citadel of
learning.
The undergraduate curriculum in Geology at the University of Ibadan, Nigeria
introduced me to a wide gamut of subjects, both in and outside the field of
Geosciences. It is sedimentological application that really captured my interest. The
desire to delve deep into it persuaded me to choose it as my option in MS program at
King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals. I am particularly interested in in-
depth applied research that are related to exploration of resources, including
petroleum, water, and others.
I obtained my BSc. Hons. in Geology with a Second Class Upper Division from
University of Ibadan, Nigeria. Presently, doing MSc program at King Fahd
University of Petroleum and Minerals.If I attain the chance, I will be glad to continue
my master's degree preferably master of research program into my PhD program.
Withal, an extremely distiguished faculty, a milieu replete with academic activity, and
a graduate program which blends high quality course work and research facilities at
the cutting edge of every sub-field are the factors which have motivated me to choose
University of Alberta for graduate studies. I believe the program will help me acquire
a world class training and the skill needed to reach my full potential as a Geologist,
further develop my person and enable me to impact positvely on the society.
Passion towards education, dedication, determination, and desire to achieve
more could be my vehicle to carry out the mandates and conditions set by your school
which in the end will fulfill your objectives taking into consideration my own
personal goals. I have been able to sustain a lot of hardships and pressures in the
academe and endeavored to excel them.
Therefore, it would be a privilege to secure admission with funding to continue my
master degree program at University of Petroleum and Minerals. I am confident that
I will match the high standards set by your University.
