prevention routine and keep track of one’s
health.

2. Regular check up can help detect any possible
ailment or diseases that you are at risk for.
- heart disease, diabetes, hypertension, cancer
3. Regular check up helps you increase chances
for treatment and help you find a cure on a
timely fashion
- goiter, gastritis/ulcers

potential problems at an early stage.

2. Vital signs: BP - < or equal to 120/80mmHg

HR - 60-100/min
RR – 16-20/min
Temperature – 36.5 to 37.5 C
3. Weight/Height
BMI : weight (Kg) divided by ht(m) squared

Less than 15 Very severely underweight

profile
6. Screening tests :
Women: mammogram every 2 years bet age 50-
74y/o
Pap’s smear every 5 years for age 30-65y/o
Men : prostate cancer screening at age 50
Both Men and Women: colon cancer at 50, lung
cancer for smokers

7. Vaccinations:
Flu shots yearly,
Chicken pox,
Measles,
Pneumococcal
12. HOW OFTEN DO YOU NEED PHYSICAL
CHECK UP?
For healthy individuals:
For ages 19-21, 0nce every 2-3 years
For ages 22-64, once every 1-3 years
Over 65, once a year
For those with risk factors, like smokers, the
doctor may suggest check up more often.

1. Eat healthy foods in each food group and
maintain a healthy weight.
2. Engage in physical activity at least 30 min
to 1 hour everyday.
