Bentomat® CL is an HDPE reinforced clay membrane liner
specially designed for lagoons, surface impoundments,
wetland, canal and waterfall, with high swelling Volclay® sodium
bentonite (up to fifteen times of their dry bulk size). Bentomat®
CL functions as a low permeable layer in volume retention
applications.
Being a natural substance, Volclay® sodium bentonite has a
long service life as it is non-biodegradable. The high swelling
property of Volclay® sodium bentonite enables Bentomat® CL to
be a self-sealing, low permeable layer in order to save the cost
of water loss. The liner can withstand rewetting cycle and can
tolerate differential settlement. Seaming by overlapping and no
welding machines are needed allow low installation cost.
Attention should be paid in the area of overlapping, longitudinal
overlapping should be 200mm minimum and the end of roll
overlapping should be 600mm. The overlapping should be
staggered in pattern. Cover of the Bentomat® CL must be firm
and sound base (150mm concrete with reinforced wire mesh is
recommended).
