How SI works?

The Report Designer allows for report generation in the simple, graphical method for simple report creation and editing for single company business to the Add-In’s Task Pane which empower users to take control of all design aspects of their reporting layouts.
The Layout Generator easily sets up the report formatting use point and click functionality and graphically presents the format for the user to create and edit templates the way they wish.
The Report Designer Add-In allows users to break down a report into reusable pieces and then control where and how these pieces fit together to create a report. These pieces are Excel functions which communicate with a new In-Memory processing engine which will guarantee performance by being able to crunch financial numbers very quickly.
While the Report Designer Add-in is installed separately, it enhances the Report Designer module.
The Layout Generator serves the need for automated reports at the click of a button, however this automation cannot always cater for every single reporting requirement. The new Report Designer Add-in extends the Report Designer module giving users maximum flexibility to design their reports from the ground up exactly the way they wish, without any design, fiscal year or budget set constraints.
The Layout Generator is another option to create and manage the look of your financial layouts.

ROW SETs enable you to see your grouped and ranged row values the way that makes sense to you in your business. You can set up a row according to Account, Acct Cat, Acct Group and Acct Type. You can create account ranges with inclusions as well exclusions
In addition, CLICK you can drill down into supporting data from your financial report. It’s easy! Just right-click and drill into the value CLICK to see the data at the account level then drill to the transaction level.
Drill-down available using Report Manager and Viewer only, not when report is distributed.
Connect - You only need 1 connector module; Unlike Report Manager module 1 is required per site; Why need it?
If you want to connect to other companies and other data sources other than ERP accounting, Point of sale, inhouse SQL Oracle database from which to report on.
In that back end, there are pre-defined containers (describe all) that work with the reports in RM. However, you may want to add containers that are to be used for your specific reports that you want to build. Rather than using the standard containers that exist already in the Connector module. The standard containers that are shipped with the Connector module work with each of the standard reports within Report Manager. If there is data that you wish to report from and the existing containers are not currently connected with the modules or databases within which you want to report then you need to add new containers using the Connector Module.
There may be other modules within your Sage ERP that you would want to connect to and report on
However, if you are happy with the standard reports in the Report Manager, those are all 100% fit for your business requirements, then you would simply have the Report Manager license for all those standard reports and you can run those standard reports.
