2. Why Was Jesus Born?
• To help the world make it to
heaven by bringing heaven to
earth
• This is ALF’s Motto
• By partnering with billions of
people on earth who follow
Him
• To prepare us for ruling with
Him in heaven through our
earthly partnership with Him
3. What We Lost
• Our Heavenly Family: Our
sonship with God
• Our Heavenly Place: Eden—
Our place of incomparable
beauty and provision
• Our Partnership: To rule over
Eden for and with God.
4. Jesus Came to Restore
• Our Family: Our intimate
relationship to God as Our
Father
• Our Place: Our enjoyment of
life with God in heaven
• Our Partnership: Ruling with
God on earth in the power of
the Holy Spirit and later in
heaven as glorified saints.
5. God Refuses to Do It Alone
• God calls one man: Abraham
to start one nation
• God calls one nation to birth
the Messiah
• God sends One Man: Jesus
• Jesus leaves and delegates
the world’s salvation to 12
men and their followers.
• God refuses to save the
world without us!
6. God’s Partnership
Progression
• OT Anointed: Abraham, Issac, Jacob, Moses, David,
Prophets
• NT: Jesus & Twelve, 70, 120
• Later, apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastor/teachers
• Priests, bishops, monks
• “Priesthood of all believers” rediscovered in Reformation
• Pastors, Billy Graham, Kathryn Kuhlman, Randy Clark,
Mother Theresa, Patti Scarpine, Akiana, Colton Burpo
7. Joel 2:28
• “And afterward, I will pour out my Spirit on all people.
Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will
dream dreams, your young men will see visions.”
• Acts 8:4 Preview: All who fled Jerusalem preached Jesus!
• All the earth shall be filled with the glory of the Lord!
• “Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the
Holy Spirit, Who is in you…” 1Cor 6:19.
• Jesus came to fulfill Joel 2:28 through each Christian
8. God’s End-Game
In Sending Jesus
• Partner with people on earth
to finish what Jesus started
• Train His children to reign as
joint-heir with Jesus
• Earth: “Train to Reign” Boot
Camp
• Joint-Heirs of Jesus help rule
heaven with Jesus.
9. Heirs Who Reign
• “Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God
and co-heirs with Christ…” Rom. 8:17.
• “If we endure, we will also reign with Him…” 2 Tim. 2:12
• “You who have followed Me will also sit on twelve
thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.” Matt. 19:28.
• “Do you not know that the saints will judge the world?” 1
Cor. 6:2
• “Do you not know that we will judge angels?” 1 Cor. 6:3
12. Heaven Came Down
• "Hundreds had been converted
• many without a word being spoken to them!
• Drunkards trembling under conviction in the drinking
houses
• great conviction of sin, causing sinners to fall helpless in
the roads.”
13.
14. Revival Has a Price
• "I believe every church can
have what we are having in
the Hebrides. There is no
'mystery,' but there is a
‘secret.'
• If God can find a people over
there, prepared to 'pay the
price' as they have over here,
He will visit them in the same
revival of power!"
15. The Price is Prayer:
Our Main Partnership
• Fervent, heart-rending prayer
• Persistent, groaning prayer
• Holy-Spirit led prayer
• Hebrides: Seven men in a
barn with their pastor prayed
for months for revival.
• No one knows their names
16. God Won’t If We Don’t!
• Call to Me and I will
answer you, and I will
tell you great and
mighty things, which
you do not know. (Jer,
33:3)
• Partnership with God
begins with much
prayer
17. Leonard Ravenhill
on Prayer
• “A man who is intimate with God is not intimidated by
man.” ...
• “No man is greater than his prayer life.
• “The size of the Sunday congregation shows the
popularity of the church. The size of the Sunday evening
service shows the popularity of the preacher. The size of
the prayer meeting shows the strength of the people.”
18. Leonard Ravenhill
on Prayer
• “No man is greater than his prayer life. The pastor who is
not praying is playing; the people who are not praying are
straying.
• We have many organizers, but few agonizers; many
players and payers, few pray-ers; many singers, few
clingers;
• lots of pastors, few wrestlers; many fears, few tears;
much fashion, little passion; many interferers, few
intercessors; many writers, but few fighters. Failing here,
we fail everywhere.”
