Red Mountain Spa Trip Part 1
1. RED MOUNTAIN SPA TRIP St. George, Utah For my birthday this year I went to Red Mountain Resort Spa in St. George, Utah; two hours drive from Las Vegas, adjacent to Snow Canyon National Park. The long weekend was filled with hiking, fitness and yoga classes, fine spa dining, and a marvelous night viewing the stars in a desert illuminated only by the light of the near full moon. The adventure was exactly what I was hoping for and much more. I’m already planning next year’s trip. Bonnie June 2008

9. Along the trail, a cairn was started as a trail marking. As hikers went by they added more rocks, and now the pile is a “wishing” or “worry” pile. Pick a rock… make a wish on it or fill it with your worries and toss it on the pile.
10. Here’s my “wishing” rock…. Wishing for a big enough bonus so I can come back next year!
11. In the Kayenta Buttes area, there is a new housing development with very strict building regulations. Lots are at least ½ acre. You can’t build on more than 23% of your lot. The height of your tallest visible structure on the house cannot be more than 13 ft. above grade. You have only five colors to choose from for the exterior. All buildings will be flat roofed, Pueblo style. The development has paved streets but no street lights. A beautiful compromise between respecting the environment and dealing with progress.
