4. Creating Classes (Sections)
• Make sure your target number of classes is correct for every course.
– Go to Scheduling > Edit Master Schedule > Summary View
– Check the Classes per Term > Target > make any necessary
changes > Update All Course Records
– Create Classes
– Choose to create the classes based on the Target number of
classes and also to Create target number of classes for courses
without requests.

23. Should a course category be
Standard, Transfer, or Mandatory?
• Standard – for almost all courses
• Transfer – for courses taken at another school, where grades need to be
recorded
• Mandatory – be very careful – any course listed as Mandatory for the grade
level will automatically be added as a request. You say English 9 is
required for every 9th grader? If there is even a remote possibility that the
course is not required, then do NOT use Mandatory.
• Once a course has been set up as Standard, Transfer, or Mandatory, it
cannot be changed without creating a new course.

• Scheduling > Enter Course Requests by Student > search for the
student > Generate Schedule > Schedule Now
