S.O.S.-Save Our Septic®
Program Details
Upgrade or remediate an exsisting conventional septic tank with
an advanced wastewater treatment to fix soogy lawns, foul odors,
plumbing back-ups, or any other signs of a biologically-failed
septic system.

INSPECTION:
After a qualified Service Provider has inspected the existing
septic system on the property and identifies a biological failing
situation - whether due to age or site issues, then a “Site
Evaluation/Registration Report” is completed.
INSTALLATION:
Inserted directly into an 18” (45 cm) manhole, this low-impact
design avoids digging up your entire yard. The finished product is
very landscape friendly! RetroFAST® is easily installed directly
in the septic tank without the need for heavy machinery (usually
in less than half a day) in your existing tank. The system must be
in compliance with local codes and specifications.
The EPA-ETV certified RetroFAST® Septic System Enhancement
consistently provides high levels of treatment in the tank (90-
95%) and delivers high-volumes of dissolved oxygen in the
treated effluent to the drain field.The dissolved oxygen (DO) aids
in digesting the excessive biomat. With the biomat diminished
and the drain field rejuvenated, the soil is free to accept future
septic effluent and extend the life of the drain field.

PROGRAM WARRANTY:
If after one (1) year from the time of the startup date the
RetroFAST®
system does not remediate the drain field, the
property owner is entitled to their MONEY BACK for the
RetroFAST®
unit.

SeptiTech® STAAR™
Filter Systems
Unobtrusive and dependable, the SeptiTech® residential STAAR™
(Smart Trickling Anaerobic Aerobic Recirculating) Filter Systems are
ETV‐EPA verified, NSF/ANSI Standard 40 class 1 and NSF/ANSI
Standard 245 certified.
Whether installed in plastic or locally‐sourced concrete tanks, this
decentralized wastewater treatment system utilizes an enhanced,
biological, unsaturated media filter process.   The passive aeration
method sprays oxygenated water over the biofilter media and allows
it to trickle through the media for optimum growth.
The patented SeptiTech® STAAR™ filter systems high reduction
BOD/TSS/TN accommodates peak flows; batch treatment; nitrogen
removal; and ideal for direct discharge and water reuse applications.
With minimal operator oversight, the automatic operation of the
STAAR system uses a PLC‐based controller for continuous operation,
time‐dosing, field process customization, automatic recirculation of
wasted sludge to the settling tank, self‐cleaning media/processor,
and Sleep Mode for enhanced energy efficiency.
With an optional UV disinfection system, SeptiTech® technology’s clean effluent is very compatible
with shallow drip, direct discharge, pressure distribution, or conventional leach fields.

• SeptiTech® STAAR™ Treatment Process
Wastewater (influent) enters a two‐chambered primary septic tank for settling and
anoxic treatment. Wastewater then flows from the primary settling zone into the
bottom of the processing tank via gravity, where it mixes with nitrified treated
effluent. With two small submerged pumps, one (recirculation) draws the
wastewater combination over the bead media with air passively fed through the
venturis intake airline where the aerobic bacteria facilitate nitrification. After
trickling through the filter, the other pump (return) sends accumulated “active
sludge” from the bottom of the processor tank back ahead of the primary tank to
enter with influent to start the process all over again and where denitrification can
occur. A portion of the effluent in the reservoir is pumped back to the septic tank
for further denitrification. The discharge pump “micro doses” the clarified treated
effluent from the decant chamber for dispersal.

The complete, optimized design of the BioBarrier MBR system dramatically simplifies the settling,
screening, direct aeration and ultrafiltration of the wastewater treatment process to remove 99.9% of
the contaminants. Certified to NSF/ANSI 40 class 1, NSF/ANSI 245 (nitrogen reduction), NSF/ANSI 350
(water reuse) and EN12566‐3 standards,  this blackwater/greywater treatment system establishes the
material, design, construction and performance requirements for onsite residential and commercial
applications.

Greywater Treatment Systems
Residential onsite water‐focused systems and products can have
significant potential benefits beyond the utility bills for property and
homeowners. For example, compared to conventional water‐efficient
homes built using low‐flow fixtures, those residences with water
capture, treatment and recycling systems could save a third (due to
treated greywater being circulated to the toilets ) or more in total
water consumption, while generating only one‐sixth the peak sewage.
Water reuse enables municipalities to decrease the
displacement/discharge into surface waters, and the demand on the
local potable watershed. This could lead to lower fees for the residents,
less maintenance, while significantly stretching allocations for reduced
water.  Decentralized technologies to create permanent infrastructure

How it Works

1.) Domestic Shower Use
(Drain water from sinks does not need to enter the Recover system since all
of the gray water required to flush toilets can be generated from bathing.)

Greywater that drains from showrs or baths enters the RECOVER system
and passes through the CleanScreen filtration process, where fine
particles/contaminants are removed before entering the holding tank.

Once the shower or bath is finished, the system automatically begins a
chlorination cycle followed by cleaning of the filter. After each shower, the
system incorporates an [automated] “CleanScreen” grey water, reusable
filter, designed to ‘practically eliminate’ maintenance.

2.) Screening / Chlorination
After the bath or shower is finished, the system adds an exact amount of
chlorine based on the volume of water that entered the tank. The chlorine
keeps water in the tank fresh and prevents bacterial growth. The chlorinator
contains pool type tablets which last from 4 to 6 months.

3.) Flushing Toilets
Once the toilet is flushed, treated greywater is pumped into the toilet tank.
The toilet does not need to be modified in any way to work with the
Recover system. A plumber simply connects the water line from the Recover
system to the toilet tank inlet. Once the toilet fills, RECOVER shuts off and
waits for the next flush.

“We have found that this system can reduce water usage by up to 30%. The
savings add up every time a toilet is flushed, since one shower provides
enough greywater to flush the toilet 20 times. “It makes sense to be able to
make use of some of your valuable water more than once, the savings in fuel
alone whilst underway make it a no brainer and could even save enough to
negate the requirement for a watermaker,” added Peter Harrison of Ocean
Footprint. The Recover system can be installed in a tight space and operates
on low power consumptions

As a Sustainable Drainage System (SuDS), the d‐Rain Joint™
Rainwater Filtration Device is a simple, low‐cost, and robust
onsite storm water management alternative compared to
other permeable, pervious surface options and can be used
wherever a permeable, pervious driveway, parking lot, street
or walkway is needed. The use of traditional pavement with
the d‐Rain Joint™ provides both permeability and filtration!

The ADA‐compliant d‐Rain Joint™ 6061‐T6 (aluminum) and
PPIC (flexible plastic) drainage channel system is less than 1”
wide and available on 8’ lengths installs between concrete
slabs to provide permeable drainage up‐to‐5+ gallons per
minute per linear foot flow rate and allows runoff to infiltrate

SCIENCO® SciCHLOR® technology uses a recirculation method to concentrate a brine solution, the SciCHLOR® system can produce up to a 0.8% strength
hypochlorite [below the hazardous material threshold of 1%].  The SciCHLOR® System includes integral brine tank(s), chlorine storage tank(s), control panel,
SciCELL® unit, and recirculation pump to allow the system to AUTOMATICALLY run at the optimum salinity and increase power efficiency.

In the “show‐me” state of Missouri, a St. Louis‐based manufacturer is taking “show‐me,” user‐friendly technology to a new level in clean water treatment.
Scienco/FAST, a subsidiary of BioMicrobics, Inc., is well known for their innovative water treatment solutions (potable and waste) for shipboard use. With
over forty years in product development, they are no stranger to the industry or to the challenges that are inherent in the operation of water treatment
systems on oceangoing vessels.
Scienco® SciRO™ Reverse Osmosis (RO) system, encapsulates that knowledge. At the heart of the system is Georg Fischer’s innovative 0846 Profibus
Concentrator, a device that simplifies the integration of Signet measurement and Georg Fischer valves into a PLC with a minimum of programming and
wiring. The Scienco Team was aided in unlocking the power of this device by two St. Louis‐based distributors, Spec‐Tech Industrial Electric
(spectechind.com) and Indelco Plastics, formerly Corrosion Products (indelco.com). The result is a compact RO unit that is easily customizable for
deployment globally aboard ships and in land‐based applications.
