DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Make a routine check up of the department and machine upon receiving from the
outgoing x-ray technologist.
Interpret the request coming from the physicians. Explain the procedure to the patient and
relatives especially when there is need of giving contrast media.
Review the patient history for verification of his/her history if the patient has an allergy
or trauma.
Responsible in checking all necessary materials in need such as contrast media,
emergency kit and emergency drug.
Make a routine check up of the digital machine to determine if it is properly functioning.
The technologist are not only in x-ray section of department but also in Operating room,
patient room, ICU room by using portable x-ray machine
Perform the routine procedure and decide some additional views if there is an incidental
findings.
Inform the attending physician/resident on duty/nurse on duty for introducing the contrast
media to the patient and assist them.
Check the radiograph if it is already acceptable by the radiologist.
Assist the radiologist in interpreting the radiograph.
Responsible in keeping the patient records and hospital files.
Make sure that x-ray department is in order before endorsing to the next day.
