2. PE tube PRESSURE EQUALIZING TUBE Doctors sometimes insert a pressure-equalizing (PE) tube into an incision or opening in the eardrum to prevent middle ear infections . For example otitis media which is a ear disorder common in young children.

3. EENT EYE, EAR, NOSE AND THROAT: Doctors specialized in ENT are expertise in managing diseases of the ears, nose and nasal passage sinuses, larynx (voice box), oral cavity and upper pharynx (mouth and throat), as well as structures of the neck and face. ENT is the oldest medical specialty in the United States.

4. BC BONE CONDUCTION It is the conduction of sound to the inner ear through the bones of the skull. BC is a sophisticated physical and physiological mechanism of vital importance in both the diagnosis of hearing impairments and in hearing rehabilitation through BC hearing aids. It has been utilized as a hearing rehabilitation technology for several decades.

6. OM OTITIS MEDIA: This is a ear infection common in children. It is also known as the middle ear infection where fluid accumulates in the middle ear cavity.

7. EM EMMETROPIA: The condition of the normal eye when parallel rays are focused exactly on the retina and vision is perfect.

8. XT EXOTROPIA is a form of strabismus where the eyes are deviated outward. It is the opposite of esotropia. People with exotropia often experience crossed diplopia. Infantile exotropia or congenital exotropia, is seen during the first year of life, and is less common than “essential exotropia” which usually becomes apparent several years later. "exo" meaning "to exit" or "move out of “ "tropein" meaning "to turn“

9. OS LEFT EYE: Referring to the left eye.

10. EOM EXTRAOCULAR MOVEMENT: (eye muscle contraction) The eye movements are controlled by muscles innervated by cranial nerves III, IV and VI. The actions of the extraocular muscles depend on the position of the eye at the time of muscle contraction.

11. VA VISUAL ACUITY: It is an indication of the clarity or clearness of one's vision. It is a measurement of how well a person sees.
