I am honored offered with the chance of participating in such important
international conference, pan African workshop for professional media production
building capacity in feature writing, photo journalism, and documentary film
production. I kindly respect and extend my gratitude both organizer namely
UNESCO representative Dr. Sasha and Ethiopian film association president, owner
and Dean of Blue Nile film and TV academy Ato Aberham Haile Beru with his
strong wife Tsigareda for giving me a chance to be part of this workshop funded by
American, Swedish, and the government of French. I would like to express my
deepest appreciation, I take the privilege of express my esteem and profound sense
of gratitude to all coordinators and trainers which donated their time to the
proper implementation of the workshop program thy gave for as class work and
assignment the purpose of their workshop was the intention of well familiarized
with media communication work in international standards, well understanding
also performing not only preparing the activity as a paper, presenting in the class
but also they make us leading performer during work time by creating opportunity
to prepare in the topic of photo journalism, documentary film production and
feature writing prepared by UNESCO coordinated by Blue Nile film and TV
academy. They were extraordinary excellent perfect organizers and coordinators,
they were acquainted us with all over the world professionals, diplomats, Africa
union officials and African diasporas they are both act as trainees and trainers
experience sharing among other activities. After the accomplishment of this and
objectives of the workshop helps the trainees to increase their potentials and
improving work activity issues that will enable me and my colleagues for the
future hop perform as effective, efficient, qualities and being concerned for proper
planning, implementing, controlling, developing and evaluation as well particular
of media communication as a whole. In addition, they give a lesson it assesses the
relationship of between the real world demanded, perseverance and our
proficiency.
Within this short period of time I saw in the conference participant sharing their
country untold history and act as ambassador. We were officially engaged in
international negotiations as a diplomatist to acquaint our country, particularly
from those little elite Diasporas who serve our continent their parts was very great.
From them Ato Aberham Hayile Beru one of our prominent good will ambassador
of Ethiopia indeed we need educated people for the purpose of diplomacy,
international relation and mediation. Film production one of a tools to
communicating and acquaint our country in a peaceful manner. Our strong and
intellect person to promote our country are Ato Aberham with his wife I saw them
in this workshop their talent, devotion, dedication and capacity role to play very
great. I saw particularly Ato Abreham dissection after observing the documentary
films his critics are professionally engaged in the analysis and interpretation of
works of art. I think you are better to resume our country film makers criticize
them to be professional and fame around the world. I remember what I read the
article about need of modern education. Towards the end of the 19th century
however, several things accentuated the need for modern education. The
emergence of the country as a victory over the Italian in the Battle of Adwa in
1896, while heralding a “promise of new Ethiopia” for the nationals, gained
international recognition for the country so that several European and Asian
countries expressed their wishes to establish embassies and negotiate treaties. The
war itself alerted the exceptionally far-sighed Epreror-Menelik to realize the
inadequacies of church education if Ethiopia was to remain independent. As
Pankhurst (1962:256) reports, upon his return to his capital victoriously from the
Battle of Adwa the Emperor stated:
“We need educated people in order to ensure or peace, to reconstruct our country and to
enable it to exist as a great nation in the face of European power”.
Dear all trainers which serves us enthusiastically namely Robert Naylor, Hillary
Beared, Tomica Anderson and Eliza Anyangne, Stephen Rudder, Russell
Frederick etc… miss you mach; you love not only your profession but also your
trainees sincerely. I wish you have a good journey and all the best in your future
endeavors! You are prominent photographers, novelists, editors, lecturer, and
professional journalists. I respect your profession, performance, love you
professional support and mentorship of your trainees. During tutoring us you gave
opportunity for your student and you were a great feeling to see your students’
progress within these thirty days. I think your quality education, thinking for others
and concern was extraordinary excellent you gave for us love and affection. You
gave for your students more than this words you were kind, humble, generous,
virtue (connoisseurship), most of all a thoughtful caring you committed to the lives
of yours students. All of you are all aspects of activity make you important keep it
up! Your commitment in the direction of your profession is so great. This saying
remembers me Japanese proverb "Better than thousand days of diligent study is
one day with a great teacher".
I think our trainers were making voice for the voiceless, activist, feminist and their
work also connecting African Diarspora to make this continent in a better place.
I am not trained journalist
Our final trainers Eliza Anyangne with Tomica conversation Eliza came to us to
share her experience she is intellect, black, strong woman She is from Cameron
West Africa specially central Africa she is born in Cameron lived when counted in
10 countries of three continent mostly sub share Africa. I can speak English and
French I need to know different languages I am practicing Amharic language but
not speak now (apologies now) I am working full time journalism at this time.
How could you tell us become journalist without education and worked on it? Well
it is good question; I am not trained journalist. I know a sort of comfortable
training needed for it. I was attending training in UK when we talks about changes
of journalism peoples I was called community coordinator. I love my job the social
media and I was asked such type of journalist to be called as journalist. I heard
from the senior guardian journalist question fifty presents of UK journalist have
not trained but they trained vocational education. Hence, I am confident to do
Journalism because journalism is mind set, a practice a set of skills rather than
qualification. The qualification I do have a bachelor degree in European business
and French MA in management and another master’s degree in international
development. A while I worked in NGOs and the guardian, Film recorded
presentation were inspired very mach to be as journalist 2010 Bill and Melinda
Gate foundation all over the world tenth anniversary of sustainable development/
the millennium development goal I was invited to attend and talk about it. In
Ghana I was seating in Accra I was spent part of my time in NGO and part of my
time in journalism I have got a chance to come to Ethiopia experience in water and
sanitation area in the NGO. I was spent parts of my time in NGO parts of my time
in journalism. Journalism is a work changing the world in better place; you can
work as an activist and so forth. I was started as freelance and editor in the
guardian. My parent wants to join engineering, lawyer something for the future as
an income. After that I need to work by using my degrees working as a guardian
writer /online editor/ my family was interesting to be working in the guardians
despite some problem before.
She is working on the guardian news paper as writer/online editor. She is spokes
person of African in CNN and BBC.

Tomica and Eliza Anyangne class work
Class work given by Tomica and Eliza Anyangne I prepared based on true story I
would like to invite you to my reads our Gulele Sub-City TVET office work with
the collaboration of OIC TVET institution (donors) thy trained migrant student and
graduates them.
The uncovered story of Ethiopia was always talked and heard about war, migration
and famine it influences as detaching from the world as tourism destination. But
the reverse to be true happens here in Ethiopia. Graduation ceremony undertaken
few weeks before, the graduates’ students came from 18 different country. The
event also happened Oct, 11-12-2015. Opportunities Industrialization Centers
Ethiopia /OIC-E/ is an indigenous nonprofit making community based
humanitarian organization which was established in January 1973. It was initially
started with the initiative of concerned Ethiopia community leaders who secure
support from their target communities with the approval of host of host
government and with technical support from OIC international and with technical
support from OIC international and an initial five-year funding from USAID.
OICE was formerly registered as local NGO by the ministry of Justice of Ethiopia
and since with the TVET Agency OICE. Works in close collaboration with
UNHCR, ARR the ministry of Education, the ministry of labour and social affairs
and with many existing agencies working in the community.
According to deputy director of ARRA Ato Ayalew Aweke also mentioned that.
The vocational and skill training the OIC_E provided to refugees benefited
refugees not only during their stay in Ethiopia but also in the areas where they
ultimately settled. It is enough to recall testimonies of south Sudanese refugees
where OIC-E used to run a successful vocational and skill program.
More added that UNHCR representative in Ethiopia Mrs. Clementine Awu
Nkweta-Salami, message after expressing “I would like to take this opportunity to
congratulate you on the successful completion of the training course. This is indeed
good news from all of us it lays the foundation for a better future for you, your
countries of origin and beyond, while we all know that you, the graduates, were the
main actors in this intensive one year training program, you would not have
reached this occasion without the support and dedication of the Government of
Ethiopia represented by the Administration for Refugees and Returnees Affairs,
(ARRA) the opportunities industrialization centers- Ethiopia (OIC_E), which
implemented the training, and UNHCR-
As the project would not have been possible with-out the generous support of the
donor community, please allow me to express my sincere gratitude to all those who
supported its implementation.
Refugees are eager to embark on skills training, and development developing their
livelihood is one of the cornerstones of UNHCR’s policy on refugees, and this
training program is part of the implementation of that policy. As we say in
UNHCR even “1 refugee without hope is too many”. While the people and
Government of Ethiopia maintain an open-door policy for refugees and continue to
create an environment whereby refugees can live in harmony with their host
communities, it is incumbent on the internet only community to continue to
support the skills training and income generating activities so that you as graduates
can begin to earn your livelihood and eventually become self-reliant. Before I
conclude I would like to encourage all of you to see today’s milestone as just the
beginning and not the end of the journey. You should prepare yourselves to exploit
every available opportunity to further refine and deepen your knowledge and skills
so as to improve your competitive advantage in the manpower market wherever
you might be .congratulation!
On behalf of my office I would like to Congratulation! Opportunities
Industrialization Centers Ethiopia TVET institutions regular students 2007/2015
academic year in different department i.e. Building Electric installation, Plumbing,
Carpentry and joinery, Basic computer skill, Hairdressing beautification and
decoration, Auto- mechanics, Basic metal work one year complete training.
From Sub-City TVET office institutional quality audit expert Ato Berhanu Tadesse
message really I proud those graduates success and our country willingness for
refugees by accommodating and providing equal opportunity as a nation provide
training which is fulfilling world of work. They come from more than 18 countries
majority of them from Africa including Middle East country like Yemeni the
TVET institution also trained and graduated more than 482 trainees majority of
them are refugees. I would like to say that your efforts have paid off (yield good
results)! One year hard work with a lot of ups and downs of life have come to an
end, is the junction for the beginning of a new set of professional duties and
responsibilities. After successful completion of your training at OIC, now you are
ready to shoulder responsibilities and serve your country. This would obviously be
the first phase to practice what you have acquired from the training institute. You
have endured all the challenging, assignments, of hands on practical work. This is
as a result of your relentless effort and commitment. I wish you all success in your
life and best in your future endeavor never quit your professional journey!
Graduation day is a pleasant and joyful day because it is a day on which one’s
training of TVET successes is realize. However, it is not an end of professional
journey but an end of a specific program. Education is an instrument to combat
against social and natural problems. Your education at OIC must have created the
preliminary awareness some problems. The key to open door problems and have a
better insight is to further study to have a qualitative understanding of our
environment in order to exploit it better.
I would like to extend my sincere appreciation and heartfelt gratitude to, donors
who support the expensive training program and their contribution entire activity
one way or another. I am interesting to add the blessing words of Amanda Bradley
expressions “There’s meaning in every moment. There’s meaning to be found in
every moment, in everything we think and see and do…. There’s purpose to be
found in every challenge, and joy in every dream that we pursue.
Therefore, they deserve respect, for those donors who allocate expensive money
for the training programs!
There’s warmth in every kindness we ourselves may give… “There’s meaning to
be found in every moment, in every hour of every day we live.
Wishing you all life’s happiest things and knowing you’ll have them, too, if just
half of the joy you give to others comes back in turn to you”!
I owe much to donors for their assistance!
Still we Ethiopian are a home of Eritrea, South Sudanese, and democratic republic
of Congo migrants and others respectively. A lot of migrants in our TVET i.e.
Opportunities Industrialization Centers Ethiopia (OIC) in our sub-city and other
Sub-City TVET institutions offers training for them, the former name of the
institute also (ETHIO Fetan TVET institute) found in Addis Ababa the locality
name also “Enkulale Fabrica” they attend their education peacefully and graduate
their training with success by getting good grade (they can able to make their
project for the aims of making their own money). Indeed we are starting image of
security, law and order, labor which made it the African's strongest safe nation to
live comfortable place for our own nation and also for others migrants. Since they
are family of us we are glad to receive and teach them without discrimination.
Let me conclude by using best quotes on positive attitude for all of us "A positive
thought is the seed of a positive result. If you don't like something, change it. "If
you can't change it, change your attitude. Don't complain. The most significant
change in a person's life is a change of attitude. Right attitudes produce right
actions. The positive thinker sees the invisible, feels the intangible, and achieves
the impossible. Be the change you want to see in this world. Forgive others and
you'll be forgiven". I almost always pray for peace and tranquility for African
people! God bless Africa I wish we live together without hostility!

I am not_trained_journalist

  • 1. Acknowledgements I am honored offered with the chance of participating in such important international conference, pan African workshop for professional media production building capacity in feature writing, photo journalism, and documentary film production. I kindly respect and extend my gratitude both organizer namely UNESCO representative Dr. Sasha and Ethiopian film association president, owner and Dean of Blue Nile film and TV academy Ato Aberham Haile Beru with his strong wife Tsigareda for giving me a chance to be part of this workshop funded by American, Swedish, and the government of French. I would like to express my deepest appreciation, I take the privilege of express my esteem and profound sense of gratitude to all coordinators and trainers which donated their time to the proper implementation of the workshop program thy gave for as class work and assignment the purpose of their workshop was the intention of well familiarized with media communication work in international standards, well understanding also performing not only preparing the activity as a paper, presenting in the class but also they make us leading performer during work time by creating opportunity to prepare in the topic of photo journalism, documentary film production and feature writing prepared by UNESCO coordinated by Blue Nile film and TV academy. They were extraordinary excellent perfect organizers and coordinators, they were acquainted us with all over the world professionals, diplomats, Africa union officials and African diasporas they are both act as trainees and trainers experience sharing among other activities. After the accomplishment of this and objectives of the workshop helps the trainees to increase their potentials and improving work activity issues that will enable me and my colleagues for the future hop perform as effective, efficient, qualities and being concerned for proper planning, implementing, controlling, developing and evaluation as well particular
  • 2. of media communication as a whole. In addition, they give a lesson it assesses the relationship of between the real world demanded, perseverance and our proficiency. Within this short period of time I saw in the conference participant sharing their country untold history and act as ambassador. We were officially engaged in international negotiations as a diplomatist to acquaint our country, particularly from those little elite Diasporas who serve our continent their parts was very great. From them Ato Aberham Hayile Beru one of our prominent good will ambassador of Ethiopia indeed we need educated people for the purpose of diplomacy, international relation and mediation. Film production one of a tools to communicating and acquaint our country in a peaceful manner. Our strong and intellect person to promote our country are Ato Aberham with his wife I saw them in this workshop their talent, devotion, dedication and capacity role to play very great. I saw particularly Ato Abreham dissection after observing the documentary films his critics are professionally engaged in the analysis and interpretation of works of art. I think you are better to resume our country film makers criticize them to be professional and fame around the world. I remember what I read the article about need of modern education. Towards the end of the 19th century however, several things accentuated the need for modern education. The emergence of the country as a victory over the Italian in the Battle of Adwa in 1896, while heralding a “promise of new Ethiopia” for the nationals, gained international recognition for the country so that several European and Asian countries expressed their wishes to establish embassies and negotiate treaties. The war itself alerted the exceptionally far-sighed Epreror-Menelik to realize the inadequacies of church education if Ethiopia was to remain independent. As
  • 3. Pankhurst (1962:256) reports, upon his return to his capital victoriously from the Battle of Adwa the Emperor stated: “We need educated people in order to ensure or peace, to reconstruct our country and to enable it to exist as a great nation in the face of European power”. Dear all trainers which serves us enthusiastically namely Robert Naylor, Hillary Beared, Tomica Anderson and Eliza Anyangne, Stephen Rudder, Russell Frederick etc… miss you mach; you love not only your profession but also your trainees sincerely. I wish you have a good journey and all the best in your future endeavors! You are prominent photographers, novelists, editors, lecturer, and professional journalists. I respect your profession, performance, love you professional support and mentorship of your trainees. During tutoring us you gave opportunity for your student and you were a great feeling to see your students’ progress within these thirty days. I think your quality education, thinking for others and concern was extraordinary excellent you gave for us love and affection. You gave for your students more than this words you were kind, humble, generous, virtue (connoisseurship), most of all a thoughtful caring you committed to the lives of yours students. All of you are all aspects of activity make you important keep it up! Your commitment in the direction of your profession is so great. This saying remembers me Japanese proverb "Better than thousand days of diligent study is one day with a great teacher". I think our trainers were making voice for the voiceless, activist, feminist and their work also connecting African Diarspora to make this continent in a better place.
  • 4. I am not trained journalist Our final trainers Eliza Anyangne with Tomica conversation Eliza came to us to share her experience she is intellect, black, strong woman She is from Cameron West Africa specially central Africa she is born in Cameron lived when counted in 10 countries of three continent mostly sub share Africa. I can speak English and French I need to know different languages I am practicing Amharic language but not speak now (apologies now) I am working full time journalism at this time. How could you tell us become journalist without education and worked on it? Well it is good question; I am not trained journalist. I know a sort of comfortable training needed for it. I was attending training in UK when we talks about changes of journalism peoples I was called community coordinator. I love my job the social media and I was asked such type of journalist to be called as journalist. I heard from the senior guardian journalist question fifty presents of UK journalist have not trained but they trained vocational education. Hence, I am confident to do Journalism because journalism is mind set, a practice a set of skills rather than qualification. The qualification I do have a bachelor degree in European business and French MA in management and another master’s degree in international development. A while I worked in NGOs and the guardian, Film recorded presentation were inspired very mach to be as journalist 2010 Bill and Melinda Gate foundation all over the world tenth anniversary of sustainable development/ the millennium development goal I was invited to attend and talk about it. In Ghana I was seating in Accra I was spent part of my time in NGO and part of my time in journalism I have got a chance to come to Ethiopia experience in water and sanitation area in the NGO. I was spent parts of my time in NGO parts of my time in journalism. Journalism is a work changing the world in better place; you can work as an activist and so forth. I was started as freelance and editor in the

There’s purpose to be found in every challenge, and joy in every dream that we pursue. Therefore, they deserve respect, for those donors who allocate expensive money for the training programs! There’s warmth in every kindness we ourselves may give… “There’s meaning to be found in every moment, in every hour of every day we live.
  • 13. Wishing you all life’s happiest things and knowing you’ll have them, too, if just half of the joy you give to others comes back in turn to you”! I owe much to donors for their assistance! Still we Ethiopian are a home of Eritrea, South Sudanese, and democratic republic of Congo migrants and others respectively. A lot of migrants in our TVET i.e. Opportunities Industrialization Centers Ethiopia (OIC) in our sub-city and other Sub-City TVET institutions offers training for them, the former name of the institute also (ETHIO Fetan TVET institute) found in Addis Ababa the locality name also “Enkulale Fabrica” they attend their education peacefully and graduate their training with success by getting good grade (they can able to make their project for the aims of making their own money). Indeed we are starting image of security, law and order, labor which made it the African's strongest safe nation to live comfortable place for our own nation and also for others migrants. Since they are family of us we are glad to receive and teach them without discrimination. Let me conclude by using best quotes on positive attitude for all of us "A positive thought is the seed of a positive result. If you don't like something, change it. "If you can't change it, change your attitude. Don't complain. The most significant change in a person's life is a change of attitude. Right attitudes produce right actions. The positive thinker sees the invisible, feels the intangible, and achieves the impossible. Be the change you want to see in this world. Forgive others and you'll be forgiven". I almost always pray for peace and tranquility for African people! God bless Africa I wish we live together without hostility!
