4. The User
COOL! So the menu is on the right?
How do I create a Site now?
hmmm...
5. The IT Pro
So let me get this straight
You want:
•More Rams
•More Servers
•More Power
•More Disk Space
And you’re removing
options for me from the
Interface and telling me to
use PowerShell Command
Lines?
6. The Developer
I just learnt 2010....
It changed again?
No more SandBox Solutions?
“Apps”, “Napa”, HTML5...
More to learn...

There are other integration possibilities between
SharePoint and Yammer
•Publish from SharePoint to Yammer from the ribbon
•Use Search to find results from both with Federated
Search
There isn’t much integration OOB...
*Soon for those on Office 365, you will be
able to replace the NewsFeed link to your
Yammer network
Yammer Integration
35. Looking at the Infrastructure
No more User Profile Sync problems!

New Problems
The Distributed Cache Service
Easy as a single server
Difficult when redundancy is required
•Requires PowerShell knowledge
•Needs a “Cache Cluster”
•Microsoft recommends having a dedicated server
(but with redundancy, that would mean 2 - ouch)
56. www.sharepointsummit.org
Problems we’ve faced
•Hard if not impossible to see content from other
lists/libraries on other Sites
•Even worst for another Site Collection
•XSLT!
•Change the way results
are shown
•Contextual Results
•Having to ask Admins for
every little thing..queries
•And much more...
60. www.sharepointsummit.org
Continuous Crawl
•Only works on SharePoint Content Sources
•By default every 15min
•Set-SPEnterpriseSearchCrawlContentSource
•Once indexed, content appears almost right
away...like magic
•Lots of added pressure on the Server

New Service
Requires the installation of “Workflow Manager”
Better Visio integration (Import/Export)
New Actions:
- Start another Workflow
- Call an HTTP Web Service
- Count
- Wait for an event on a list item

2010 available in 2013
During the SharePoint 2013 installation, it also
installs SharePoint 2010 binary files
We can create Site Collections in 2010 mode,
which uses the real SharePoint 2010 files
