mEducator 2.0 vs mEducator 3.0
Web2.0: Web3.0 spaces
Centralised repository Distributed semantically
linked repositories
Data and presentation are data and presentation are
tightly integrated separated, with a number of APIs
Technically easier to maintain handling data interaction and the
and explain to users (teachers different instantiations handling
and students) the presentation
Basic functions (searches, more open, allows easier
descriptions) easy to integrate integration/connection of new
trough mashups internal or external repositories.
Requires content importing to Allows enrichment and linking

mEducator3.0
- The 2nd solution of mEducator project
Based on the idea of linked data
– linked data describes a method of publishing
structured data so that it can be interlinked and
become more useful.
– rather than serve web pages only for human readers,
why not extend them to share information in a way
that can be read automatically by computers?
– this enables data from different sources to be
connected and queried.
