Reflection Paper On Simulation Experience
I am proud of the knowledge I've gained over these past seven weeks in terms of not only technical
skills, but communication and collaboration skills as well! I was fortunate enough to be able to go
into this semester having had a wonderful experience this summer through the Geary Co–Op, which
helped me gain important technical nursing skills, though this experience did not teach me to be half
the team member that I am now thanks to this simulation experience. And while that's perhaps the
biggest takeaway I've gained from this course, there certainly are others!
Going into this semester, the areas in which I acknowledged that I needed to make great
improvements were with reading cardiac rhythm strips, understanding causes and manifestations of
abnormal lab values, and with improving interdisciplinary communication. Our cardiac rhythm
/mock code simulation day was very helpful for me, and the way David was able to simplify the
broad subject of reading strips during his mini–lecture that day was so enlightening. Since that
simulation lab, I have found myself having a much easier time reading strips and identifying
abnormal rhythms in clinicals and on exams. I had no idea that my confidence in this area would
grow so much in such a short amount of time.
I really appreciate that in many of the cases with which we worked during simulation had
components of interpreting different lab values, another aspect of nursing care on which I wanted to
focus. The biggest piece of feedback

My Selective Theory Sorter-Revised Questionnaire
Over the time in this course I have been drawn to the Person – Centered Theory, I feel like that is
what my personality is like, and I would love to continue to grow strong and practice theory that
comes natural to me. This is the theory I scored highest on my Selective Theory Sorter– Revised
Questionnaire. Person–Centered therapy will have great significance to my development as a
professional counselor for the reason that I already think of myself as a very authentic, sympathetic
and accepting person. I am an excellent listener, and I have learned to process my thoughts before I
speak. I think that a consoling therapist/client relationship is indispensable to the counseling process.
Another reason I like this psychotherapy/theory is because...show more content...
I would ask for the support of my teachers, to help me connect with the students. Make them feel
as part of the community and have them take a little responsibility for their actions. If something
goes wrong in class or the school setting, for the individual to take a minute to process and let
them realize what it was they did wrong, and how they can fix it. I would try and build an
establishment for my students to have a very genuine relationship with me, even if I don't ever get
to meet one on one with them. I would like for them to feel welcome and comfortable to talk to
me. Everyone deserves someone who accepts them as they are. I want to be that person in my
school setting. It is very important to reach out to all the students you. I currently work at my old
middle school, so picturing me as a future counselor for that school hits a very personal note.
Students in my school come from broken homes, the live with relatives because their parents are
from Mexico. Coming to school and having someone present you eye contact, compassion,
understanding, and genuine respect means a lot. I want to be that person for my students, as a

The art of writing is a complex and difficult process. Proper writing requires careful planning,
revision, and proofreading. Throughout the past semester, the quality of my writing has evolved
significantly. At first, I struggled with the separation of different types of paragraphs, and I found
writing them laborious. Constant practice, however, has eliminated many of my original difficulties,
and helped to inspire confidence in my skills. As a collegiate writer, my strength lies in my clear
understanding of the fundamentals of writing, while my primary weakness is proofreading my own
work. During the transition from a high school writer to a collegiate writer, my strength at

Finding an introductory paragraph that hooks the reader can be troublesome, but throughout the
course, I have spent considerable time developing that technique. The body of my arguments
each exhibit strong support for the thesis. In addition, my conclusions summarize the papers
without restating unnecessary information. Overall, my comprehension of the basic format of an
argument has proved to be a valuable asset. The weakest portion of my writing is my lack of good
proofreading. All papers require a significant amount of proofreading not only for grammatical
errors, but also for structural problems. Proofreading my own work is difficult. Many times, I
wrongly assume that the reader is able to understand my thoughts, while the various points of my
argument are actually not expressed clearly. In some instances, I fail to catch obvious errors, such
as sentence fragments or contractions, which I should be able to eliminate easily from my
writing. Proofreading my own work has consistently been the most difficult part of my writing
process, and I continue to struggle with catching all of the errors in my papers. Analyzing my
strengths and weaknesses as a writer is extremely important. Despite the fact that I understand the
structure of a good argument, I still miss obvious errors in my papers because I lack the skills
necessary to properly proofread my own work. In the future, I plan on spending a large portion of
my time

A Personal Reflection On Fitness And Fitness
Prior to this course, fitness to me meant all about your weight. I now know that it is more to it than
just that. Fitness includes exercising, healthy eating, and getting enough rest just to name a few.
There are many ways to measure fitness, such as assessments, time periods of exercise, and the use
of Body Mass Index (BMI). An important component that I have learned during the duration of this
course is that to achieve the appropriate fitness level, it is necessary to mentally discipline yourself.
You must motivate yourself to keep thriving; it takes perseverance. Many of us expect results
overnight, but that is never the case. Consistent self motivation is a must to achieving fitness goals.
At the beginning of this course, my fitness level was what considered to be low. I rarely exercised
and when I did, it was only for short periods of time. Whenever I would go to the gym, I only did
the bare minimum, so of course, I did not get any results. The only time I was really active was
when I was walking around campus to go to my classes. Now, I am much more active. I acquired a
gym membership and try to exercise at least 3 times a week. Along with the membership, my
internship has kept me active as well. I am usually running back and forth between buildings and
chasing little kids all day, things of which I never thought of doing before. I know have habits of
going for 30 minutes jogs around the neighborhood and stretching every morning before I start my
day. Prior to the

The Writing Process Essay
The Writing Process
Writing a paper on the writing process is pretty hard. The writing process is different from one
person to another. You come across questions like, 'What exactly is the writing process?'; and
'Must you follow one persons writing process if yours is different?'; This is where I came across
the answer to my questions, write however you wish to write. If one person likes free write first
and another person likes to write a draft first, let them do how they please.
The writing process is something that you figure out yourself as you go through school. I personally
think that is why they make us take English for so many years. Through the years, I found that some
teachers forced you to write certain ways. I believe that...show more content...
I don't agree with him. The only way for someone to improve his or her writing is if a peer reads
over it and explains what could be done to improve it.
In The Maker's Eye: Revising Your Own Manuscript, Murray says, 'Writers must learn to be their
own worst enemy'; (Murray 87). He is trying to say that when it comes to editing, you must be able
to accept criticism from others and be suspicious of it. Just because they say that you should
rearrange that paragraph doesn't necessarily mean you have to. The way you wrote the paragraph
could be in your own voice.
Your papers should be filled with your voice. Voice is what makes your writing personal. But your
voice could be different depending on what you write about. I would put a lot more of my feelings
in a paper about food, than a paper about how the polar ice caps are melting.
Revising and rewriting a paper is a common step in the writing process. Personally, I think your
paper would be crap if you skipped these steps but I'm sure someone has done it before. Every
writer has revised and rewritten a paper. Do you think that Shakespeare wrote Romeo and Juliet in
one shot? I don't think so.
In conclusion, writing is up to the writer. If the writer decides to follow the formal writing process,
then that's their choice. Nothing should be forced when it comes to writing. Then the writer does not
put out their best work possible. Thank you for reading my

Essay on Writing Self-Evaluation
I believe it is important for any student who wants to do their best in a class to take a moment to
evaluate their own work to determine the rate their writing is progressing and how they can
continue to advance their writing. When I looked through my own work I asked myself "what have
I learned this semester?" and "what do I still need to learn in order to improve my writing?".
Answering both these questions will help me with my last step of my self–evaluation, developing a
plan to learn new skills.
During this semester, I have strengthened my writing by trying new writing techniques, learning
about purpose, and finding new ways of combating writers block. My first essay in this class was
less focused then the essays I wrote later in...show more content...
I have struggled with writer's block with often. In the past, I've learned to take breaks while
writing to help alleviate symptoms of writers block; however, during the semester I have learned
to carry a pad of paper with me so that I can write down idea's while they are fresh in my mind.
Writing down my thoughts has helped me avoid writers block because I have a list of thoughts
about the subject before I have even started writing. When I struggle less to write it improves my
essay's by decreasing my stress, this can be seen in my writing. I was afflicted with writer's block
while trying to write both my compare and contrast essay and my description essay, this caused
me a lot of stress and caused my essay to suffer. On the other hand, when I wrote my classify and
divide essay I did not have to deal with writer's block. As a result the stress level was greatly
decreased and the improvement is substantial.
Although my writing has made some good progress during the course of this semester, I still some
things I need to learn in order to keep improving my writing. Grammar, writing in an active voice,
and building my rewrite skills are three examples of skills I need to build upon to continue to
improve me writing.
Even though my grammar has improved during the progression of this class, I still have a lot to
learn before my knowledge of grammar can contribute to my writing. I have never had an aptitude for

Over the course of this semester I learned a lot about myself as a writer. This English 101 class
has really allowed me to expand my essay structure and ways of thinking. This was my first college
writing course and it has given me much more freedom when writing because in high school I felt
limited and like what we were writing was not very important. In high school I would write essays
to just to fulfill the required word or page count and to a degree I still feel like this but maybe that is
why I am an engineering major but in this course I actually was able to express my ideas and for the
first time really test the limits of my writing capabilities. I really enjoyed being able to incorporate
my voice more in my essays and I believe...show more content...
The most important improvement for me in this course was on my grammar. I was not aware of
the comma rules before. It was shocking to see where commas are to be put and the places that I
usually miss. The Hacker lessons we did in and out of class on commas have improved my
grammar significantly. Looking back through all of my graded essays it is unbelievable how
many commas I have actually missed. Also, writing the essays in MLA format and including
work cited entries and quotations, has helped me become more comfortable with it. When I write
essays now, I do not hesitate or get anxious if I have to add a work cited entry. However, even
though I have know a little bit more of when to use commas and have a little bit more knowledge
about grammar there is still a lot of room for improvement. Some areas where I need to improve
include transitions between paragraphs, being to repetitive, and my conclusions. This class has
definitely helped me make my transitions better; however they still could use some improvement. I
have to make sure that the reader can comprehend my thought process and that my transitions do
not get in the way of the flow of the paper. In some of the rough drafts for my essays I could not
find links between paragraphs at all but after work shopping in class I believe that they have
significantly improved. I also need to make sure that I do not repeat the same ideas or words too

Essay about Behavior
Behavior–
Behave, it its root form, means to contain or to have. In the reflective sense, it means 'to have bear
oneself'. To use the word behave in common conversation, it is understood as to 'behave well'. As for
the phrase 'to behave badly', it is understood immediately.
Behavior is looked at in society as the way a person presents him or herself in a given situation. It is
also related to the specialized sense of manners. Use of the noun to refer to public conduct or, in a
moral sense, to a general range of activities is still quite common.
But the term is also used in relation to plants, lower organisms and animals to describe the apparent
activity of the whole organism.
One particular meaning followed from the extension of the...show more content...
Different stages of bourgeois society led to different stages of the capitalist mode of economic
production. It is often difficult to separate the meaning of bourgeois from the meaning used to
describe historically distinct periods and phrases of social and cultural development. The bourgeois
ideology of settled independent citizens is clearly not the same as the bourgeois ideology of the
highly mobile agents of a para–national corporation. There are also some problems between
bourgeois and capitalist, which are often used interchangeably but which are primarily
distinguishable as social and economic terms.
There can be difficulties of usage, associated with some of the most intense controversies of
analysis, when the same word is used for the whole society in which one class is dominate and for a
specific class within that whole society.
Bureaucracy–
Definition– the word Bureaucracy originated in English in the middle of the 1900's. The word
bureau had its meaning of a writing desk with drawers. The American use of Bureaucracy has
become more common, especially with references to foreign branches. As the word bureaucracy
evolved, many different meanings have been taken to affect.
The increasing scale of commercial organization, with a corresponding increase in government
intervention and legal controls, and with the increasing importance of organized and professional
central government, produced the political facts to which the new term pointed.

Reflective Essay On Science
The lesson that I'm going to focus on is really has to do with science for my first grade students. My
focus will be to help them gain and comprehend the knowledge that's needed to while we observe the
difference between the sun and the moon, the students will be exploring the difference in each of the
objects, determining which one is heavy or light. They will have a questionnaire sheet to write down
any questions that they may have. Giving the students the hands–on experiences is allowing them to
understand even though their opposites, how their still used for comparison. In addition, the students
will have to work as a team organizing the objects, labeling any events that they find and learn their
vocabulary words. This lesson plan has a mixture of a few subjects for them, like Reading, Language
Arts, Writing, and Science. This content includes the student's having to ask and answer questions
about details in a text, having to research, prompt and support their answers, remember important
details with help from their group, respond to questions from their peers, be able to write a complete
report, and get information or clarity on the details that they didn't comprehend. This lesson is
exciting and fun, the students are learning specific details about the sun and moon, how much their
related, but very different in many ways, their learning how to blend their vocabulary together to
help them read and comprehend better and demonstrate their interest in writing to

written, oral, visual, and electronic communication modes. When you begin exploring my portfolio,
I will be sharing with you on how I have grown within the WOVE areas this semester.
Here is a brief overview of what you can find on my eportfolio. The menu section that is located at
the top of the website can be easily used to navigate my introductory, about me, WOVE, reflection,
and closing pages. These pages can also be easily accessed on the contents which is located at the
top right side of each page. The WOVE page has a drop–down box menu that contains my written
communication, and OVE communication modes. Also, the reflection page has a drop–down box
menu that contains my reflection on my written revision, reflection on OVE artifact, and Special
reflection about E. The closing page will contain my final closing reflection and my about me page,
will personally tell you more about myself.
My composing techniques have slightly changed since I began this course, I learned the important
aspects of using a rough draft. At the beginning of this semester I would spend more time writing

is ineffective for me to just write down my ideas on a paper with no purpose because I tend to

Reflection Paper On Volleyball
Volleyball has been a sport that has played a key role in my life. Looking back to my first game
when it all started I can remember the butterflies in my stomach; I was so nervous, so eager. I had
anticipated it all day. All week and as a sixth grader it gave me something bigger to be apart of
going into middle school. The sport first caught my eye when I watched my older sister, Bailey,
play. A net set up down the middle of the gymnasium, the twelve players on the court (six on each
side), the sound of the ball as it was volleying around. I was intrigued to learn more and, of course as
the little sister, I admired anything my older sister did and wanted to do it too.
So there I was facing the start of a season equipped with a blue jersey with number four on the
front and back, new black knee pads fresh out of the package, and black shorts matching the rest of
the team. I was ready. As the team and I finish setting up the court for the game the other team
arrives, the butterflies in my stomach began growing bigger than before. Both sides began warming
up with partners and suddenly a loud noise rings through the gym, the referee was calling for
captains to see who would have first serve or receive (defence or offence). My team won the coin
toss, so we were to start the game with the serve or offense. Five players and I rush onto the court,
we were the starting six. One player goes to stand behind the boundary line waiting for the referee
to signal her to serve. The referee

Reflective Essay On Time Management
When I first evaluated myself in the study skill academic test, time management was my weakest
skill overall. This was priority in terms of skill development because I would always leave things
till the last minute and stress myself out trying to turn in things on time. In order to improve this
I made a smart goal to carry out in the beginning of the year. Now after some time, the results of
my progression are shown. My smart goal that I created for myself regarding my time
management planned out very well, I was able to successfully accomplish a majority of my
assignments on time. I would review the material of the week on Monday's and compile all of the
assignments due for the week. The monthly calendar was also a key factor in helping me keep up
to date in the month so see what where upcoming tasks the following week. If I needed more
clarification on certain tasks then I would login and check the syllabus. After making sure of the
material due, I would distribute the workload throughout the week based on the weight of an
assignment. For example, I would have a small essay that was assigned on Monday but due until
Friday. I would break apart the essay in multiple days so that I would not have to complete the
entire essay in one sitting giving myself more time to work on other subjects. So for essays I
would typically give myself about one hour and a half or so each day to work on it and have it
scheduled for completion by Friday afternoon. Honestly just making a plan

Essay On Reincarnation
19 This has happened before; this feeling, this experience, this thought. The dГ©jГ –vu that just
occurred could have actually derived from a past–life memory. "DГ©jГ –vu experiences are
anomalies that have been defined as...spontaneous past life experiences" (Haraldsson).
Reincarnation is the idea that your soul can be born in a new body after the death of a previous
one. This concept originated in ancient cultures of India, such as Hinduism and Buddhism, but it
still appears today. Thousands of cases of reincarnation have been recorded all over the world in
both religious and non–religious societies. Psychiatrists are searching for ways to explain the vivid
memories of another life that children describe. Although it is difficult to...show more content...
She depicts a memory of being pushed into a river by her brother and drowning (Bering). These
memories of brutal endings of a past life provide evidence for the idea that one may be reborn in a
new body. Along with the frequent pattern of violent deaths within past life memories, the age of
these cases is repeatedly somewhere between the ages of two and six.
Memories of past lives more frequently appear in adolescents than adults; often the child's
reincarnation stories fade away with age. The amount of cases of reincarnation reported decrease in
adults. Many "skeptics of reincarnation cases often allege that parents shape their children's
behavior" (Matlock). It is difficult to know what goes on inside a child's mind and whether or not
they are making up these stories to seek attention. There are many things that these children just
couldn't know without living that life before. Additionally, professor ofpsychology at the University
of Iceland– Erlendur Haraldsson– believes that children commonly allege that their current parents
are not their real parents (Haraldsson). Providing more verification for the relation of age to
reincarnation, Stevenson notices that "there is only a brief window of time– between the ages of two
and five– in which children retain these reminiscences" (Bering). Not only does age correspond with
reincarnation, but there is also physical and mental evidence.
Children who recall past life experiences poses behavioral issues

Neoliberalism Essay

'Neo liberalism is responsible for most of the global economic problems we are experiencing today'
Brett nelson Word count– 1511. Neo–liberalism is a political ideology that suggests that 'human

The most prominent and possibly the most notable market crash is the 'Global Financial Crisis'
which was a direct repercussion of the neo–liberal policies which were implemented at the time and
for which many of today's global economic problems has stem from. These policies predominately
include the replacement of government functions and services with profit–seeking entities, or more
commonly known as privatisation and most importantly the deregulation of the economic market
(Beder, 2006). Due to the deregulation, financial institutions and other economic players were
able to invest in more complex financial markets which were beyond their understanding and a
result a market crash occurred and the detrimental effects were widespread. If regulation had been
put in place to monitor investment activity then it has been argued that the Global Financial
Crisis would not have occurred and the associated global economic problems we are experiencing
today would not have eventuated (Dag Einar Thorsen, 2013). As neoliberal policies where
implemented around the world casing the global financial crisis the world disparities in wealth
and income increased as well as poverty, contradicting neoliberal theories that by increasing the
wealth at the top everyone becomes better off. One of the largest areas of concern around the globe
is the poverty levels. Over the last 40 years governments have been influenced by neoliberal

Compare And Contrast Traditional Teaching Styles
No teachers are similar as well as no students learn in the same way. Every teacher has their own
unique teaching style which is based on their educational philosophy, their classroom's demographic,
what subject area they teach, and the school's mission statement. Up until now, teachers are looking
for a system that will engage students in the educational process and will develop the students'
critical thinking skills. Moreover, teachers want the classroom to be in order and in control, but they
also want their students to appreciate the learning procedure. These teaching styles can be divided
into two approaches – the teacher–centered and learner–centered.
Traditional teaching styles use teacher–centered approach. It includes a teacher that stands at the
front and tells students step by step instructions. The teacher decides what is learned, when it is
learned, how it is learned, and how learning is evaluated. In a nutshell, the teacher is an information
giver and evaluator. The students are just there to learn through lessons and direct instructions. Their
attention is mainly focused on passing tests, assessments, and evaluations.
Through the years, many successful people have came from the traditional setting. The earliest
recorded occurrence of education proved that people learned in a...show more content...

  • 1. Reflection Paper On Simulation Experience I am proud of the knowledge I've gained over these past seven weeks in terms of not only technical skills, but communication and collaboration skills as well! I was fortunate enough to be able to go into this semester having had a wonderful experience this summer through the Geary Co–Op, which helped me gain important technical nursing skills, though this experience did not teach me to be half the team member that I am now thanks to this simulation experience. And while that's perhaps the biggest takeaway I've gained from this course, there certainly are others! Going into this semester, the areas in which I acknowledged that I needed to make great improvements were with reading cardiac rhythm strips, understanding causes and manifestations of abnormal lab values, and with improving interdisciplinary communication. Our cardiac rhythm /mock code simulation day was very helpful for me, and the way David was able to simplify the broad subject of reading strips during his mini–lecture that day was so enlightening. Since that simulation lab, I have found myself having a much easier time reading strips and identifying abnormal rhythms in clinicals and on exams. I had no idea that my confidence in this area would grow so much in such a short amount of time. I really appreciate that in many of the cases with which we worked during simulation had components of interpreting different lab values, another aspect of nursing care on which I wanted to focus. The biggest piece of feedback Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. My Selective Theory Sorter-Revised Questionnaire Over the time in this course I have been drawn to the Person – Centered Theory, I feel like that is what my personality is like, and I would love to continue to grow strong and practice theory that comes natural to me. This is the theory I scored highest on my Selective Theory Sorter– Revised Questionnaire. Person–Centered therapy will have great significance to my development as a professional counselor for the reason that I already think of myself as a very authentic, sympathetic and accepting person. I am an excellent listener, and I have learned to process my thoughts before I speak. I think that a consoling therapist/client relationship is indispensable to the counseling process. Another reason I like this psychotherapy/theory is because...show more content... I would ask for the support of my teachers, to help me connect with the students. Make them feel as part of the community and have them take a little responsibility for their actions. If something goes wrong in class or the school setting, for the individual to take a minute to process and let them realize what it was they did wrong, and how they can fix it. I would try and build an establishment for my students to have a very genuine relationship with me, even if I don't ever get to meet one on one with them. I would like for them to feel welcome and comfortable to talk to me. Everyone deserves someone who accepts them as they are. I want to be that person in my school setting. It is very important to reach out to all the students you. I currently work at my old middle school, so picturing me as a future counselor for that school hits a very personal note. Students in my school come from broken homes, the live with relatives because their parents are from Mexico. Coming to school and having someone present you eye contact, compassion, understanding, and genuine respect means a lot. • 3. The art of writing is a complex and difficult process. Proper writing requires careful planning, revision, and proofreading. Throughout the past semester, the quality of my writing has evolved significantly. At first, I struggled with the separation of different types of paragraphs, and I found writing them laborious. Constant practice, however, has eliminated many of my original difficulties, and helped to inspire confidence in my skills. As a collegiate writer, my strength lies in my clear understanding of the fundamentals of writing, while my primary weakness is proofreading my own work. During the transition from a high school writer to a collegiate writer, my strength at understanding the basic principles of...show more content... Finding an introductory paragraph that hooks the reader can be troublesome, but throughout the course, I have spent considerable time developing that technique. The body of my arguments each exhibit strong support for the thesis. In addition, my conclusions summarize the papers without restating unnecessary information. Overall, my comprehension of the basic format of an argument has proved to be a valuable asset. The weakest portion of my writing is my lack of good proofreading. All papers require a significant amount of proofreading not only for grammatical errors, but also for structural problems. Proofreading my own work is difficult. Many times, I wrongly assume that the reader is able to understand my thoughts, while the various points of my argument are actually not expressed clearly. In some instances, I fail to catch obvious errors, such as sentence fragments or contractions, which I should be able to eliminate easily from my writing. Proofreading my own work has consistently been the most difficult part of my writing process, and I continue to struggle with catching all of the errors in my papers. Analyzing my strengths and weaknesses as a writer is extremely important. Despite the fact that I understand the structure of a good argument, I still miss obvious errors in my papers because I lack the skills necessary to properly proofread my own work. In the future, I plan on spending a large portion of my time Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. A Personal Reflection On Fitness And Fitness Prior to this course, fitness to me meant all about your weight. I now know that it is more to it than just that. Fitness includes exercising, healthy eating, and getting enough rest just to name a few. There are many ways to measure fitness, such as assessments, time periods of exercise, and the use of Body Mass Index (BMI). An important component that I have learned during the duration of this course is that to achieve the appropriate fitness level, it is necessary to mentally discipline yourself. You must motivate yourself to keep thriving; it takes perseverance. Many of us expect results overnight, but that is never the case. Consistent self motivation is a must to achieving fitness goals. At the beginning of this course, my fitness level was what considered to be low. I rarely exercised and when I did, it was only for short periods of time. Whenever I would go to the gym, I only did the bare minimum, so of course, I did not get any results. The only time I was really active was when I was walking around campus to go to my classes. Now, I am much more active. I acquired a gym membership and try to exercise at least 3 times a week. Along with the membership, my internship has kept me active as well. I am usually running back and forth between buildings and chasing little kids all day, things of which I never thought of doing before. I know have habits of going for 30 minutes jogs around the neighborhood and stretching every morning before I start my day. Prior to the Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 5. The Writing Process Essay The Writing Process Writing a paper on the writing process is pretty hard. The writing process is different from one person to another. You come across questions like, 'What exactly is the writing process?'; and 'Must you follow one persons writing process if yours is different?'; This is where I came across the answer to my questions, write however you wish to write. If one person likes free write first and another person likes to write a draft first, let them do how they please. The writing process is something that you figure out yourself as you go through school. I personally think that is why they make us take English for so many years. Through the years, I found that some teachers forced you to write certain ways. I believe that...show more content... I don't agree with him. The only way for someone to improve his or her writing is if a peer reads over it and explains what could be done to improve it. In The Maker's Eye: Revising Your Own Manuscript, Murray says, 'Writers must learn to be their own worst enemy'; (Murray 87). He is trying to say that when it comes to editing, you must be able to accept criticism from others and be suspicious of it. Just because they say that you should rearrange that paragraph doesn't necessarily mean you have to. The way you wrote the paragraph could be in your own voice. Your papers should be filled with your voice. Voice is what makes your writing personal. But your voice could be different depending on what you write about. I would put a lot more of my feelings in a paper about food, than a paper about how the polar ice caps are melting. Revising and rewriting a paper is a common step in the writing process. Personally, I think your paper would be crap if you skipped these steps but I'm sure someone has done it before. Every writer has revised and rewritten a paper. Do you think that Shakespeare wrote Romeo and Juliet in one shot? I don't think so. In conclusion, writing is up to the writer. If the writer decides to follow the formal writing process, then that's their choice. Nothing should be forced when it comes to writing. Then the writer does not put out their best work possible. • 6. Essay on Writing Self-Evaluation I believe it is important for any student who wants to do their best in a class to take a moment to evaluate their own work to determine the rate their writing is progressing and how they can continue to advance their writing. When I looked through my own work I asked myself "what have I learned this semester?" and "what do I still need to learn in order to improve my writing?". Answering both these questions will help me with my last step of my self–evaluation, developing a plan to learn new skills. During this semester, I have strengthened my writing by trying new writing techniques, learning about purpose, and finding new ways of combating writers block. My first essay in this class was less focused then the essays I wrote later in...show more content... I have struggled with writer's block with often. In the past, I've learned to take breaks while writing to help alleviate symptoms of writers block; however, during the semester I have learned to carry a pad of paper with me so that I can write down idea's while they are fresh in my mind. Writing down my thoughts has helped me avoid writers block because I have a list of thoughts about the subject before I have even started writing. When I struggle less to write it improves my essay's by decreasing my stress, this can be seen in my writing. I was afflicted with writer's block while trying to write both my compare and contrast essay and my description essay, this caused me a lot of stress and caused my essay to suffer. On the other hand, when I wrote my classify and divide essay I did not have to deal with writer's block. As a result the stress level was greatly decreased and the improvement is substantial. Although my writing has made some good progress during the course of this semester, I still some things I need to learn in order to keep improving my writing. Grammar, writing in an active voice, and building my rewrite skills are three examples of skills I need to build upon to continue to improve me writing. Even though my grammar has improved during the progression of this class, I still have a lot to learn before my knowledge of grammar can contribute to my writing. • 7. Over the course of this semester I learned a lot about myself as a writer. This English 101 class has really allowed me to expand my essay structure and ways of thinking. This was my first college writing course and it has given me much more freedom when writing because in high school I felt limited and like what we were writing was not very important. In high school I would write essays to just to fulfill the required word or page count and to a degree I still feel like this but maybe that is why I am an engineering major but in this course I actually was able to express my ideas and for the first time really test the limits of my writing capabilities. I really enjoyed being able to incorporate my voice more in my essays and I believe...show more content... The most important improvement for me in this course was on my grammar. I was not aware of the comma rules before. It was shocking to see where commas are to be put and the places that I usually miss. The Hacker lessons we did in and out of class on commas have improved my grammar significantly. Looking back through all of my graded essays it is unbelievable how many commas I have actually missed. Also, writing the essays in MLA format and including work cited entries and quotations, has helped me become more comfortable with it. When I write essays now, I do not hesitate or get anxious if I have to add a work cited entry. However, even though I have know a little bit more of when to use commas and have a little bit more knowledge about grammar there is still a lot of room for improvement. Some areas where I need to improve include transitions between paragraphs, being to repetitive, and my conclusions. This class has definitely helped me make my transitions better; however they still could use some improvement. I have to make sure that the reader can comprehend my thought process and that my transitions do not get in the way of the flow of the paper. In some of the rough drafts for my essays I could not find links between paragraphs at all but after work shopping in class I believe that they have significantly improved. I also need to make sure that I do not repeat the same ideas or words too many Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 8. Essay about Behavior Behavior– Behave, it its root form, means to contain or to have. In the reflective sense, it means 'to have bear oneself'. To use the word behave in common conversation, it is understood as to 'behave well'. As for the phrase 'to behave badly', it is understood immediately. Behavior is looked at in society as the way a person presents him or herself in a given situation. It is also related to the specialized sense of manners. Use of the noun to refer to public conduct or, in a moral sense, to a general range of activities is still quite common. But the term is also used in relation to plants, lower organisms and animals to describe the apparent activity of the whole organism. One particular meaning followed from the extension of the...show more content... Different stages of bourgeois society led to different stages of the capitalist mode of economic production. It is often difficult to separate the meaning of bourgeois from the meaning used to describe historically distinct periods and phrases of social and cultural development. The bourgeois ideology of settled independent citizens is clearly not the same as the bourgeois ideology of the highly mobile agents of a para–national corporation. There are also some problems between bourgeois and capitalist, which are often used interchangeably but which are primarily distinguishable as social and economic terms. There can be difficulties of usage, associated with some of the most intense controversies of analysis, when the same word is used for the whole society in which one class is dominate and for a specific class within that whole society. Bureaucracy– Definition– the word Bureaucracy originated in English in the middle of the 1900's. The word bureau had its meaning of a writing desk with drawers. The American use of Bureaucracy has become more common, especially with references to foreign branches. As the word bureaucracy evolved, many different meanings have been taken to affect. The increasing scale of commercial organization, with a corresponding increase in government intervention and legal controls, and with the increasing importance of organized and professional central government, produced the political facts to which the new term pointed. My focus will be to help them gain and comprehend the knowledge that's needed to while we observe the difference between the sun and the moon, the students will be exploring the difference in each of the objects, determining which one is heavy or light. They will have a questionnaire sheet to write down any questions that they may have. Giving the students the hands–on experiences is allowing them to understand even though their opposites, how their still used for comparison. In addition, the students will have to work as a team organizing the objects, labeling any events that they find and learn their vocabulary words. This lesson plan has a mixture of a few subjects for them, like Reading, Language Arts, Writing, and Science. This content includes the student's having to ask and answer questions about details in a text, having to research, prompt and support their answers, remember important details with help from their group, respond to questions from their peers, be able to write a complete report, and get information or clarity on the details that they didn't comprehend. This lesson is exciting and fun, the students are learning specific details about the sun and moon, how much their related, but very different in many ways, their learning how to blend their vocabulary together to help them read and comprehend better and demonstrate their interest in writing to Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 10. Reflection On Eportfolio Welcome to my eportfolio, here you will find an in–depth analysis about my WOVE experiences in English250. By creating my eportfolio I have learned my weaknesses and strengths within my written, oral, visual, and electronic communication modes. When you begin exploring my portfolio, I will be sharing with you on how I have grown within the WOVE areas this semester. Here is a brief overview of what you can find on my eportfolio. The menu section that is located at the top of the website can be easily used to navigate my introductory, about me, WOVE, reflection, and closing pages. These pages can also be easily accessed on the contents which is located at the top right side of each page. The WOVE page has a drop–down box menu that contains my written communication, and OVE communication modes. Also, the reflection page has a drop–down box menu that contains my reflection on my written revision, reflection on OVE artifact, and Special reflection about E. The closing page will contain my final closing reflection and my about me page, will personally tell you more about myself. My composing techniques have slightly changed since I began this course, I learned the important aspects of using a rough draft. At the beginning of this semester I would spend more time writing down my thoughts on a paper then organizing my thoughts within the rough draft. I learned that it is ineffective for me to just write down my ideas on a paper with no purpose because I tend to jumble my words. By Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 13. Reflection Paper On Volleyball Volleyball has been a sport that has played a key role in my life. Looking back to my first game when it all started I can remember the butterflies in my stomach; I was so nervous, so eager. I had anticipated it all day. All week and as a sixth grader it gave me something bigger to be apart of going into middle school. The sport first caught my eye when I watched my older sister, Bailey, play. A net set up down the middle of the gymnasium, the twelve players on the court (six on each side), the sound of the ball as it was volleying around. I was intrigued to learn more and, of course as the little sister, I admired anything my older sister did and wanted to do it too. So there I was facing the start of a season equipped with a blue jersey with number four on the front and back, new black knee pads fresh out of the package, and black shorts matching the rest of the team. I was ready. As the team and I finish setting up the court for the game the other team arrives, the butterflies in my stomach began growing bigger than before. Both sides began warming up with partners and suddenly a loud noise rings through the gym, the referee was calling for captains to see who would have first serve or receive (defence or offence). My team won the coin toss, so we were to start the game with the serve or offense. Five players and I rush onto the court, we were the starting six. One player goes to stand behind the boundary line waiting for the referee to signal her to serve. The referee Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 14. Reflective Essay On Time Management When I first evaluated myself in the study skill academic test, time management was my weakest skill overall. This was priority in terms of skill development because I would always leave things till the last minute and stress myself out trying to turn in things on time. In order to improve this I made a smart goal to carry out in the beginning of the year. Now after some time, the results of my progression are shown. My smart goal that I created for myself regarding my time management planned out very well, I was able to successfully accomplish a majority of my assignments on time. I would review the material of the week on Monday's and compile all of the assignments due for the week. The monthly calendar was also a key factor in helping me keep up to date in the month so see what where upcoming tasks the following week. If I needed more clarification on certain tasks then I would login and check the syllabus. After making sure of the material due, I would distribute the workload throughout the week based on the weight of an assignment. For example, I would have a small essay that was assigned on Monday but due until Friday. I would break apart the essay in multiple days so that I would not have to complete the entire essay in one sitting giving myself more time to work on other subjects. So for essays I would typically give myself about one hour and a half or so each day to work on it and have it scheduled for completion by Friday afternoon. When I first started this course, I was struggling with a lot of writing mechanisms. One of the things was transition. I was just writing without thinking of how to connect my thoughts. After completing numerous writing assignments, I am fully confident with my ability to have a paper that flows. Another thing that I struggled with was organization. "DГ©jГ –vu experiences are anomalies that have been defined as...spontaneous past life experiences" (Haraldsson). Reincarnation is the idea that your soul can be born in a new body after the death of a previous one. This concept originated in ancient cultures of India, such as Hinduism and Buddhism, but it still appears today. Thousands of cases of reincarnation have been recorded all over the world in both religious and non–religious societies. Psychiatrists are searching for ways to explain the vivid memories of another life that children describe. Although it is difficult to...show more content... She depicts a memory of being pushed into a river by her brother and drowning (Bering). These memories of brutal endings of a past life provide evidence for the idea that one may be reborn in a new body. Along with the frequent pattern of violent deaths within past life memories, the age of these cases is repeatedly somewhere between the ages of two and six. Memories of past lives more frequently appear in adolescents than adults; often the child's reincarnation stories fade away with age. The amount of cases of reincarnation reported decrease in adults. Many "skeptics of reincarnation cases often allege that parents shape their children's behavior" (Matlock). It is difficult to know what goes on inside a child's mind and whether or not they are making up these stories to seek attention. There are many things that these children just couldn't know without living that life before. Additionally, professor ofpsychology at the University of Iceland– Erlendur Haraldsson– believes that children commonly allege that their current parents are not their real parents (Haraldsson). Providing more verification for the relation of age to reincarnation, Stevenson notices that "there is only a brief window of time– between the ages of two and five– in which children retain these reminiscences" (Bering). Not only does age correspond with reincarnation, but there is also physical and mental evidence. Children who recall past life experiences poses behavioral issues Get more content on HelpWriting.net

The most prominent and possibly the most notable market crash is the 'Global Financial Crisis' which was a direct repercussion of the neo–liberal policies which were implemented at the time and for which many of today's global economic problems has stem from. These policies predominately include the replacement of government functions and services with profit–seeking entities, or more commonly known as privatisation and most importantly the deregulation of the economic market (Beder, 2006). Due to the deregulation, financial institutions and other economic players were able to invest in more complex financial markets which were beyond their understanding and a result a market crash occurred and the detrimental effects were widespread. If regulation had been put in place to monitor investment activity then it has been argued that the Global Financial Crisis would not have occurred and the associated global economic problems we are experiencing today would not have eventuated (Dag Einar Thorsen, 2013). As neoliberal policies where implemented around the world casing the global financial crisis the world disparities in wealth and income increased as well as poverty, contradicting neoliberal theories that by increasing the wealth at the top everyone becomes better off.
