1st Project Meeting _Staff Training Event– Arcos de Valdevez - Portugal

First Project Meeting of the Project Multidisciplinary Flipped Learning with ICT at Epralima Vocational Training
School, Arcos de Valdevez, Portugal.

Development of the Topics under Discussion
The meeting started at 10:00 hours with Carla Barros, representing Epralima, greeting the partners
and presenting the Portuguese technicians involved in the project, namely, Sandra Veloso the
Coordinator of Epralima’s Technical Centre and Irene Dantas, teacher. After this brief presentation
each participant was asked to present themselves, identify the organization they represent and the
role they have in the project. Shortly after, the Mayor of Arcos de Valdevez welcomed the partners to
Portugal and gave a brief presentation of Epralima’s activity and the role that the school has within the
Academic Community of Arcos de Valdevez. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------
The meeting continued with a brief presentation of the partners schools: The first presentation was
presented by Portuguese Partner, who gave an explanation of EPRALIMA. The second presentation
was given by the Turkish Partners, who spoke about Girne Ortaokulu. ------------------------------------------
At 11:30 there was a coffee-break served by Epralima‘s students and at 12:00 the meeting
recommenced with the third presentation given by the Italian partners, who spoke about Istituto
Comprensivo San Giorgio Di Mantova. The Spanish partners, made the forth presentation and spoke
about IES Miguel De Cervantes. The fifth presentation was given by Latvia Partners and presented
their school, Daugavpils Saskanas Pamatskola. The sixth presentation was given by the Polish
Partner and they spoke about Publiczne Gimnazjum Nr 30 Im. Adama Mickiewicza. French Partner
gave the seventh presentation and spoke about Lycee Maurice Genevoix. Finally, the last

presentation was given by the Lithuanian Partner who spoke about Panevezio Rajono Velzio
Gimnazija. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
At approximately 13:00 hours all the participants had lunch in Epralima’s canteen and the meeting
recommenced at approximately 14:00 hours with Ayla Savasci, Project Coordinator, who introduced the
Project (background, objectives) and gave special attention to the Intellectual Outputs:
1 – Let´s flipped English classroom; 2 – Lets know more about your students. The Coordinator explained with
details all of the partner´s responsibilities during the project.
Joanna Wilczyńska, Polish Partner, did a presentation of the project´s website and blog, suggesting that all
partners contribute with articles, pictures and other information to enrich these platforms. --------------------------------

- Screencasting softwares: Jing, Snagit and Camtasia
The meeting started at 10:00 hours with Carla Barros, introducing Paulo Simões, a university teacher
from Braga, who prepared a training program for all partners concerning especific screencasting
softwares, such as Jing, Snagit and Camtasia.----------------------------------------------------------------------
Paulo Simões began by explaining what screencasting is and it’s utility. ------------------------------------
The teacher sort out the programs according to its complexity, so Jing was the first software to be
explored, followed by Snagit and then Camtasia. In each software all partners where able to explore
them and perform practical exercises that allowed them to explore functionalities in order to take
maximum advantage of the tools. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The meeting ended at approximately 17:00 hours. ---------------------------------------------------------------------

- Presentation of Etwinning platform
The meeting started at 10:00 hours with Paulo Simões, who taught the group another practical tool for
the preparation of brochures - Lucidpress – this program is a web-based layout/design software
application. Many exercises where put in practice.---------------------------------------------------------------------
At approximately 13:00 hours all the participants had lunch in Epralima’s canteen and the meeting
recommenced at approximately 14:00 hours, with Maria Grasso, Italian partner, who made a brief
presentation about E-twinning platform. She mentioned that the eTwinning Portal (www.etwinning.net)
is the main meeting point and workspace. The Portal presents tools, online, for teachers to meet
colleagues and partners thus create projects, share ideas, exchange best practice and start
immediately collaborative work, taking advantage of the various tools available on the eTwinning
platform.----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After this presentation, Joanna Wilczyńska, Polish Partner, presented to all partners “LogoGarden”
software, easy tool to create a Logo for the project. She suggested that all partners use this software. -
The meeting ended at approximately 17:00 hours and indications were given by Carla Barros
regarding dinner. The participants were asked to be ready and in front of Arcos Hotel by 20:00 hours. -
