Honda CB Twister
Ever since Honda announced that it would launch mass segment bike, the expecatations are running high.
Competitors are wary, even the Hero Honda the king of 100cc bike is jittery. Honda’s mass segment yet
sporty CB Twister has arrived.

Styling
You don’t have the money to get a CBR 1000RR but want attention. Then CB Twister is your bike. CB
Twister with its red hot styling is easily the best looking bike in the 100-125cc segment. In the midst of
Spelndors, Glamours and Discovers, CB Twister stands out.

Honda could have learnt a thing or two from the customer response to its conserative looking Shine 125cc
Design
Look from any angles, the sharp edges are bound to grab your attention. The sharp looking front cowl is
striking. The beefed-up tank (could be lifted from Unicorn) has nice looking shrouds on the both sides.
Unlike the first half, the second half of the bike have minimalistic styling.
The open chain, short muffler and lean rear cowl complements the front. However, Honda design misses
out on the tail lamp design and odd looking red springs. Overall the design Twister reflects the needs of
the segment buyer.
We have driven many big bikes but none many of them got this amount of eyeballs like the twister had.

Under the bulky tank is a small engine (the air fins seems to very slim). The single cylinder engine
displacing 109cc pumps out 9bhp of max power at 8000rpm and a maximum torque of 9Nm at 6000rpm.
Honda claims that CB Twister would reach 60kmph from standstill in 6 seconds and it claims a mileage of
70kmpl (under Honda test conditions).
Performance and Mileage
On the road, CB twister cruises like a bullet. It moves with energy till 70kmph but after that it fizzles out.
The engine itself gets strained. Moving the twister over 80kmph needs lots of patientce. We hit a
maximum speed of 96kmph in our test drive. The shorter gearing of the four speed transmission makes it
more powerful than actually it is.
It follows the universal 1 down-4-up and comes only with toe shift lever. The gearshift is not precise and
not refined as one expects to be in a Honda bike. The mileage is more than satisfactory, CB Twister
returned 64kmpl in our test drive

The hulky adn tall CB Twister is surprisingly nimble. The riding posture is nothing short of commuterish
with handlebar and pedals are placed ideally. The handlebar lifted from the Shine is light. The top end
variant we drove features disc brake at the front and drum at the rear.
The brakes offered required bite but may not find good in panic braking. CB twister boast a good ride
quality but the pillion has to take the brunt in case of sharp shocks.
Features
comes with neatly designed instrument cluster which houses speedometer, fuel gauge and indicators for
neutral,winkers and high beam. The fuel lid is a hingeless type.
The unique pillion handle is not just stylish but also helps to center stand the CB Twister easily. The choke
and fuel selector is placed ergonomically

CB Twister is available in five unique shades – pearl nightstar black, pearl fiji blue, candy palm green,
electric yellow metallic and pearl siena red.
The prices of three CB Twister variants are – CB Twister Kick start and drum brake – Rs48,477, CB
Twister Self start and drum brake – Rs51,750 and CB Twister Self Start and Disc Brake – Rs55,012. All

Verdict
A first look on the price chart will tell you, CB Twister is in no way a threat to Hero Honda’s Splendour.
CB Twister commands a premium price tag. Few variants of Cb Twister are priced higher even than its
elder sibling Shine 125cc.
But the segment is highly price sensitive. Yet, Twister would look to lure the buyers with its super special
styling and Honda’s trademark fuel efficiency. We wish CB Twister packed with more unique features for
the price it demands.
