2.  An indexed journal means that the journal has gone
through and passed a review process of certain
requirements done by a journal indexer.
 Basically, every institution can be an indexer but in
the academic world, an indexer should be one who is
trusted and reputable in doing such a job.
 ISI and Scopus are two main indexers for academic
journals. An indexed journal is not necessarily will
have a better quality than a non-indexed journal.
 This is because to be indexed, in most cases, a
journal needs to apply and undergo a long and tight
process of which most of established journals refused
to take the process.
 Hence, an indexed journal is a journal that has
proven (at least to the indexer) that it has well
documented process in publishing papers.

3.  Indexation of a journal is considered a
reflection of its quality.
 Indexed journals are considered to be of
higher scientific quality as compared to non-
indexed journals.
 Indexation of medical journals has become a
debatable issue.

4.  Non-indexed (SCI/SCOPUS) journals contents
are mostly not authentically peer
reviewed.
 Publishing scientific works without peer
reviewed causes more harm to the scientific
society than no publication at all.
 Publish less but they should be in reputed
indexed journals.

5.  Scopus is an Elsevier's abstract and citation
database that was launched in 2004 to
improve institutions' and professionals'
progress in sciences and healthcare. It is
known to be the best abstraction and
citation database for peer-reviewed
