OVERLOAD SAFETY DEVICE
MECHANICAL OVERLOAD LIMIT SWITCH
SWIFT electric hoist has a Mechanical overload safety device which can be
provided as special requirement. This device is operated by disc
springs and limit switch. Mechanical overload limit switch is set to
120% load of full load. With this device headroom of hoist will be
increased by 100-150 mm.

SLIP CLUTCH
SWIFT electric hoist has a built in overload safety device. The
direction of the threads of item Load brake disc and Ring
nut is so adjusted that when the load is being raised the
torque applied by the load on the sprocket will try to take
the ring nut closer to the disc spring. Since the ring nut is
fixed by grub screw, the load torque can not take ring nut
closer. The rotation to gear I due to load torque and motor
torque during hoisting are in opposite direction. For
overload the torque applied by the load is greater than the
motor torque as well as the torque set at the friction lining
and motor is unable to raise the overload.
