letters which makes it bold
and easily read. The colour of
the writing could represent
blood as the genre of the film
is horror

on this poster is very
effective as although
it is dark the figure is
illuminated by the
light coming from
behind him so we are
able to see parts of
him but not all. This
creates a feeling of
mystery and may
interest the audience
to find out more.
The Tag line used on this Horror poster
relates to the Friday the 13th Franchise
as this is a place located or referred to
in each of the films, the way the words
are phrased also gives a feeling on
tension and mystery as viewers may
want to know what is so special about
crystal lake .
Date of release can sometimes be seen as a USP.
This text tells the
audience that this film
has the same producers
as Texas chainsaw
massacre which could
indicate if you like Texas
chainsaw massacre then
you are sure to like Friday
the 13th.

3. The collection
The Main Image on this horror poster for the collection is very
effective as the character is tying up a mask this leaves a
feeling of curiosity and tension as the audience may want to
see what the masked villain looks like. The shallow depth of
field within the image focus’s great detail on the figure in the
front of the shot, at first the audience may not even notice
the sinister image in the background but only when looked at
in detail do you start to see the horror unfolding this could
make the audience want to see the film as they want to
know what happens.
Tagline, matches the font on the rest of the poster the
sentences its self is sinister and creepy this will draw
the audience in to watch the film to find out the full
story
Release date: is incorporated in to a sentence rather than
placed on its own to create a sense of reality into the
viewers mind when reading it.
This text tells the audience that this film has the same
producers as Saw IV, V, VI & VII which could indicate if you
like these films then you are sure to like The Collection.

4. The conjuring
Release date: This builds up an anticipation for the
audience to look forward to the date that they can
go and view the film.
The title on this film poster is placed in the center of
the page, the font can be perceived as
scary/creepy and the colour of is black which can
symbolize death.
The Main image on this horror film poster is created
in such a way that it looks creepy and deserted,
there s a noose hanging from the tree connoting
death or suicide, if the image is studied closely
enough then the audience will be able to see that in
the shadow of the tree there appears to be a
person hanging from the noose, but in the real
image we cannot see that, this divides the sides
between reality and fantasy in a very simplistic but
creepy way.
The billing board is placed rather differently than it
would be in a conventional horror film poster it sits
slightly to the left as not to cover the shadow of the
person in the main image
This Sentence at the top tells the audience that if
they liked ‘saw’ and ‘insidious’ more likely to enjoy
this film as it is directed by the same person.
