1. title Diogenes Lantern - Volume 72 {224 pages, full color, hard back}
project details During my senior year at college I was elected Editor-in-Chief of the college’s year-
book. I had no idea at the beginning of this project that at its completion, I would want to do it all over
again...and again! As editor and lead designer, I grew to love every aspect of book design: from covers,
to front and end sheets, to the simplicities of text blocks; I was hooked! My overall theme for the book
stemmed from the idea of different textures. Throughout the book are many photographs that exemplify this
idea of texture, like grass, cement, and paint splotches.
2. title The Survivor’s Handbook - Eating Right for Cancer Survival {52 pages, full color, spiral bound}
project details For my senior thesis project, I knew I wanted to combine two things I love: designing
books, and food! So my project became a redesign of a healthy living cookbook, published by a non-profit
group called the Cancer Project. I wanted the cookbook to feature bright, delicious looking food, with clean
and simple layouts. This project was actually really fun to do. I ended up making all the recipes that I photo-
graphed and styled, along with printing it on my trusty Epson printer.
3. title A Found Alphabet in Light and Shadows {14” x 48”}
project details For this project, I wanted to discover the letters of the alphabet in objects other than
type. I decided to find them in shadows and light. It proved to be harder than I thought, but I think the end
result is something very original and thought-provoking. I printed the final piece in a banner format, which
can be hung, or just unwound when needed.
4. title Trader Joe’s - Espresso Di Roma re-design
project details I was asked to redesign a coffee can label for the Espresso Di Roma flavor of coffee
found at Trader Joe’s. I decided to go with a simpler design, rather than the busy one found on the existing
label. The final outcome is rich, dark, and elegant...as coffee should be!
5. title Pacific Union College - Sports Media Guide { 22 pages, color cover, b/w inside}
project details While I was a design intern at Pacific Union College’s public relation’s department, I
designed this media guide for the women’s volleyball team. It includes statistics charts, player profiles, and
news about the team. I designed custom charts to organize each player’s stats, and game wins and losses.
Two-hundred books where printed to hand out at their first home game.
6. title Interactive Calendar
project details While conceptualizing ideas of developing a 3-dimensional, non-traditional calendar, I
came up with this final product. It is a desk calendar made of plywood, with eyelet hooks. The idea is that
you can stretch rubber bands or any other thin rubber material, to the corresponding month and day. For
instance, if it was June 23, the rubber band would stretch from the upper “6”, down to the lower “23”. You
could play with multiple rubber bands to make an interesting pattern, or just use one.
7. title Wedding Invitation
project details This wedding invitation was for an early September wedding that was held outdoors.
The colors are fresh, yet serve as a transition between summer and fall. One of the main objectives of the
design was to create a three-part invitation that worked as one. Instead of having three separate sheets of
paper, the invitation is bound together, so the guest would not loose any of the components. The end result
was a solid, functional, and beautiful announcement.
8. title ‘PARIS’ Silk-screened poster
project details I wanted to created a funky, Parisian poster that incorporated everything “Paris”.
This silk-screen incorporates 8 unusual colors. Sixteen prints were made.

title Practical Health Dynamics - Corporate Identity System
project details Practical Health Dynamics came to me and asked for a logo design that showed what
their company was about; promoting healthy living through informational and cooking seminars. I chose the
image of a simple pear, because it describes a healthy diet. Rich and vibrant colors are used to continue the
thought of a vibrant life. I created business cards, letterhead, envelopes, and promotional postcards for them
as well.
