  2. 2. WHAT IS A GOAL ?  An aim or objective towards which an endeavor is directed.  A goal is simply a target which an individual or organization intends to reach or achieve. 2 GOAL SETTING
  3. 3. MEANING OF GOAL SETTING Goal setting involves establishing specific, measurable, achievable, realistic and time-targeted. goals. Work on the theory of goal-setting suggests that an effective tool for making progress is to ensure that participants in a group with a common goal are clearly aware of what is expected from them. On a personal level, setting goals helps people work towards their own objectives. Goal setting features as a major component of personal development literature.
  4. 4. DIFFERENCE BETWEEN DREAM AND GOAL DREAM  A dream is a fantasy; it does not have any boundaries.  It is a goal without legs.  A dream can be the guiding passion of your life. GOAL  It is a more clear and vivid target that you want to attain.  A goal is always accompanied with a plan.  It is an aim or objective that you want to achieve. 4 GOAL SETTING
  5. 5. SETTING GOALS The process of setting goals is based on three steps:  Deciding what you want to accomplish.  Devising a plan to work with.  Working on the plan to achieve the result you desire. 5 GOAL SETTING
