  2. 2. FIRST WORLD COUNTRIES "First world," a term developed during the Cold War in the 1950s, originally referred to a country that was aligned with the United States and other western nations in opposition to what was then the Soviet Union and its allies. Since the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991, the term's meaning has largely evolved. Currently, it describes a developed and industrialized country characterized by political and economic stability, democracy, the rule of law, a capitalist economy, and a high standard of living. https://www.investopedia.com/terms/f/first-world.asp#:~:text=Examples%20of%20first%2Dworld%20countries,countries%20are%20defined%20can%20vary.

  4. 4. THIRD WORLD COUNTRIES "Third World" is an outdated and derogatory phrase that has been used historically to describe a class of economically developing nations. It is part of a four-part segmentation that was used to describe the world’s economies by economic status. Today, the preferred terminology is a developing nation, an underdeveloped country, or a low-and-middle-income country (LMIC). https://www.investopedia.com/terms/t/third-world.asp
