Persuasive Essay On Early Childhood Education
Beggining ones education young, prepares one for the future. Early education has been proven to
be beneficial in many aspects throughout life. Children may dread the idea of starting early but in
the long run starting early can make a significant difference. Also some may even be ahead of his
/her peers in the following years. Early childhood education should be a requirement due to the
ability it has to help gain early skills, necessary positive behaviors, and increased brain
development. Children dont have to go to a legit child care facility to get an early education. Early
childhood education comes in many forms most of the learning starts at home. "Playing with your
child helps keep your child engaged in the kind of play where learning occurs. Your interest,
questions, and comments as you play alongside will help your child use toys productively,"(How
to Support Children's Approaches to Learning?). In saying that children learn best through play
based experiences they learn from things they experience or items they can touch and hold.
Children learn from the comments thier parents give, they pick up on the little things. Children
who don't participate in some type of quality education programs are 50 percent more likely to be
placed in special education. Children are also 25 percent more like to dropout of school and are
60 percent more likely to never attend college. 40 percent are more likely to become teen parents
,and finally 70 percent more likely to become a teen parent.
Not all children comprehend things at the same level, that's why it is so important to teach them
basic skills young so later on throughout life certain tasks will not be so hard for them. Children
can also gain life skills just by doing simple things such as working puzzles. While working the
puzzles children gain problem solving skills as they try and fit the pieces together and figure out
what goes where, it also develops a sense of persistance.(How to Support Children's approach to
learning?). Children need to learn the basic skill of problem solving because it is needed for tasks
throughout life whether it is a math problem or real life problems. Persistence is needed in many
situations where the child may want to

Persuasive Essay On Elementary Education
In the words of Dr. Seuss, "The more that [an individual] read[s], the more things [they] will know.
The more that [they] learn, the more places [they will] go." Students are our future and we need
reliable, dedicated, sufficient, driven teachers. Not just any individual can be a true teacher; students
are special and need a special person to touch their hearts, minds, and souls. Teachers form the world;
producing, inspiring, and providing students with the options and opportunities for their future. A
Bachelor degree is the minimal requirement, but perhaps a very realistic goal in four years. Reading
through many articles I find teachers definitely teach for passion, not money. Every class and
individual student is different and technology is becoming superior in many classrooms, positively
and negatively. By 2025, most classrooms will be using computers and technology for education and
curriculum. I find competition between college never fails. Going into Elementary Education (K–6)
there are many college programs to choose from. www.bestcolleges.com provides the information
that in the state of Kansas, Pittsburg State University (PSU) is ranked sixth of 45 and Emporia
State University (ESU) is ranked eighth of 45. (The 45 Best Colleges in Kansas for 2017) By
attending PSU, a student would spend $572 more on tuition than compared to ESU; however, PSU
has 72 academic programs as well as having their elementary education program ranked as one of
their three most popular

Persuasive Essay On Public School Education
Public school education seemed to prepare me for every piece of knowledge necessary; with the
exception of common adult skills. Following graduation, this went unnoticed until I was faced with
situations that I was not prepared for. There is undoubtedly a flaw in today's education system when
high school seniors graduate without the common knowledge to perform necessary adult tasks.
Schools need to place a higher priority on teaching life skills rather than strictly focusing on
educational facts. Budget cuts have taken beneficial information, such as life skills, out of the school
's itinerary. When essential life lessons are left out of teacher handbooks, students are left to self
teach the information that could have been taught otherwise. This results in young adults who are
hopeful not to generate monumental mistakes while making potentially life altering decisions;
through trial and error.
First of all, schools tend to prioritize some ineffective information within each core subject. For
example, memorizing the periodic table is often a requirement in high school science classes. While
the information may be fascinating, this skill will rarely be used within the lifetime of any of the
students spending quality time to load this information into their brains. Likewise, in history class
weeks are spent reciting specific qualities of our first presidential families' personal lives. While it is
vital to teach students about our presidents to understand democracy, lessons go astray when
extending out on personal information like the illness of Abraham Lincoln's son, for instance. These
lessons can take away time that students could spend learning additional topics pertaining to life
skills. Third, schools could allow students free reign to research the Wild West, for example, rather
than the vital health signs of their own body. The problem is, mandatory curriculum focuses on the
retention in postsecondary institutions; forgetting the importance of success in life in general. The
main priority of teacher guidelines are to prepare their students for college; allowing no attention to
the rest of the important circumstances a young adult will also encounter.
Furthermore, innumerable jobs do not require but the

Dear Professors, If I had to take a real –world view of my desired profession to be an Elementary
School teacher, I would hope that the economy would be good because of the current lower
salary that teachers make. I'm obviously not in this career for the money nor do I expect my salary
to be an issue but if I could imagine, I'd hope that I'd find myself in a world where I can be
financially stable as well as find rewards in other aspects of my job. This book really asks us as
humans, specifically as college students to do better for the environment and asks that we see how
we affect the environment in every single action we make. I see teaching as a calling– a way of
making a difference. It's not a job to do for the money. You have

Are Smartphones good for children Smartphones have grown in number across all ages as the
years have passed, especially with younger children in middle and elementary school. Every time
that I go out to eat I see a family with a kid that looks about the age of a elementary school student
that the parents just give them their phone to keep them quiet. But is that a good problem solver
or bad, like in school, is it ok to have elementary students use smartphones in class. Some parents
believe that children in elementary school should have smartphones in class if it will help,
whereas some believe that they should not because it will just be a distraction. In an article called
"Smartphones" from Opposing Viewpoints Online Collection, Gale, 2016. Opposing Viewpoints
in Context, they believe that smartphones can be really good for everyone including kids but may
also be a distraction. Mainly, the article says that smartphones are the cause of a lot of problems
that are happening to kids like cheating during quizzes, tests, or exams. Smartphones can also aide
child narcissism through them taking selfies, and might be the main cause of cyber bullying,
because when kids take selfies, no one really knows how other people will react to the photo on
social media which may also cause anxiety to some people who are afraid of being bullied because
of how they look in their picture. When kids spend more time on their phones, it could result in
less physical activity outside of school and increases the rate of overweight elementary students in
the united states. However, Smartphones can be used for medicinal through apps that track your
steps throughout the day to helping someone understand CPR or remember the steps to CPR in a
very important moment that could save someone's life. Also, smartphones can benefit classrooms
in big way if used correctly and if monitored by teachers and staff, but could also be very
distracting and a worse way of cheating if not done correctly. Smartphones can benefit classroom
learning experiences because they can help students on homework at home by allowing them to
lookup any answers that they need, but this could be bad if that is all they do to just get answers
and not do any work.

Persuasive Essay About High School
Starting school when you're four years old changes tremendously to when you're seventeen or
eighteen. There are a few things about school that remain the same, but many more changes are
made throughout the years. Gradually homework gets harder and more complex, teachers change,
different activities are added, and much more. Elementary is just the base of what your life will be
like in the future. High School prepares you more for the rest of your life and is when you
individually get to have options and decisions to make. Elementary school consists of learning
vocabulary (words), making friends, basic math, and playing outside for recess. The classes you
take in Elementary are mandatory. You have to take Math, Science, Language Arts, P.E., Music,
Social Studies, Art, and Reading without have a choice on which class to take. There are no
complex levels of classes that you can take. Everyone is in the same class and it's usually with the
same teacher. For example, your third grade teacher would teach all your classes to you and you
would stay in the same room for almost the whole day besides for Art, Music, and P.E. There are
normally three teachers for each grade which means your entire grade would be split up into three
groups and those are the groups you'll be with the whole year. Recess and lunch was the only times
you could see your other friends that are in your grade. Everyone in first through sixth grade do not
have any classes together, it is strictly grade by

Persuasive Essay On Right To Education
A lot of teens nowadays dread waking up to a blaring alarm in the morning, only to go to school,
dreadful and boring. Realistically, those teens haven't seen the struggles many other people their age
and younger go through. Most children in America have had the privilege of having access to public
education, unfortunately this opportunity isn't available to most children around the globe. It's easy
to say you "hate" school when you have always had that option around for you; Like they say, you
don't know what you have until its gone. Many things have affected a countries ability to give their
people access to a decent education, sometimes it can be religion that stops children or the simple
fact that education and funding it can get expensive. Although the complications can be vast, there
are relatively simple solutions to them; People just need to start caring. The shortage of education
has been vast and historic, "More than 72 million children of primary education age are not in school
and 759 million adults are illiterate and do not have the awareness necessary to improve both their
living conditions and those of their children."("Right to Education: Situation Around the World."
n.d) Education is a vital part of any society, but isn't in the reach of an abundance of children all
around the world because of low–to–nonexistent educational budgets, a gender barrier that prevents
many from continuing their studies, and that fact that many children live in conflict–filled

As we are nearing our destination our bus driver yells out "I am going to stop at this gas station
and fill up." When our bus driver came back onto the bus he exclaimed "The gas station is out of
gasoline so we will stay here overnight." Then, everyone in the bus started grunting and moaning.
"But guys we can make this fun if we tell stories to pass the time, Here, I will start." I said. And we
began telling each other our stories. "Can we please adopt this one, Mom? Pretty please, he is so
cute! With his bright green eyes and his pink little nose," said Jacob, a thirteen year old boy with
red hair. "After this we will be pretty much bankrupt," said Jacob's mom, with her deep blue eyes
staring into Jacob's "Please just this one thats all," said Jacob "Ok but promise me that you will take
responsibility of him by taking care of him," said Jacob's mom. And they strutted to the individual
behind the counter. When they got back home with their new puppy they decided to name him Spot
due to a cinnamon–colored spot on his back. The next morning, when Jacob woke up he noticed
that Spot's nose is not the same shade of pink. In fact, it is quite pale. "Mom we need to take spot
to the vet now!" screamed Jacob wistfully. "Ok, I will get Spot while you get in the car," replied
Mom. When they got to their destination, Jacob sprinted out of the car and went to the vet's office
and almost immediately the vet said "Spot is going to need surgery, do you have insurance?" "No,

Persuasive Essay About Education
Education is something that most can receive for free at a young age, but once students graduate
from high school, free education is no longer provided to those who desire and need it, yet more
employers are looking for those with college education, and even worse, college is more expensive
than ever. This year, "only 34% of American jobs require ahigh school diploma or less, compared to
72% in the 1970s." (Carnevale & Smith, 2017) Education is a right that everyone should have, and it
is that way until after high school, when it matters the most. Education also supports the growth of
civil society, democracy, and political stability, allowing people to learn about their rights and
acquire the skills and knowledge necessary to exercise them. However, these things along with other
important information that comes into adulthood such as taxes are not even being taught in the
curriculum of high schools and therefore not preparing the students for some of the most challenging
yet ordinary tasks they will have to deal with in their adult lives. Instead, they must either learn these
skills themselves, from someone they know, or be among the few who are fortunate enough to get a
class with a teacher kind enough to teach them. The American education system is failing in
numerous areas, causing us to fall behind other countries, and further delaying the advancement of
our society.

Persuasive Essay On Education In School
Education is a crucial aspect of people's lives. In the United States and numerous other countries,
we are reminded throughout our twelve years of mandatory schooling that we must do well so
that we can get into a good college, achieve a degree, and then lead an accomplished and fulfilling
career. Despite the fact that this idea is drilled into our heads from a very young age, our system of
education does not provide each child with the same amount of support and encouragement. A vast
number of black children are penalized for simply wearing their hair in its natural state. There have
been numerous instances in which black children are threatened with detention, suspension, and
even expulsion if they refused to change their hairstyle into...show more content...
Deanna and Mya Cook are two adopted twin sisters from Massachusetts who faced similar
discrimination for their hairstyles. The twin girls went to school with freshly done box braids and
were told that their new style did not coincide with their school's dress code. These girls faced
several harsh punishments like being unable to attend prom, being unable to attend their graduation,
and the twins were even told that they would be thrown out of school if they did not change their
hair. When an eight–year–old third–grader wore her hair styled in a "frohawk", a popular style that
combines an afro and a mohawk, for school at Tarver Elementary in Belton, Texas she was pulled
out of class. The school's justification for this decision was by alleging that the eight–year–old girl's
hairstyle was not in accordance with the school's dress code policy, however, mohawks, the exact
same style sans the afro–textured hair, is allowed.
The testimonies of these girls and their parents are obvious acts of resistance. Their stories made
headlines and people across the country know who they are and how they were wronged. Rather than
enduring the unjust punishments and accepting their circumstances they spoke up. They used their
voices and projected them loudly through social media. They were able to utilize their platforms so
that they oppose the prejudice.

Children are vastly influenced by their elementary education. The fundamentals and basics of a
child's education begins with language, more specifically, reading and writing. These children are
the future cognitively, socially, and physically and they should be provided with the most effective
educational techniques available. While children are young, they should be provided with those
techniques by starting at the beginning: foreign language. Children should learn a foreign language
at the elementary school level. Learning a foreign language trains children to be attentive listeners.
When children have good listening abilities, they are more capable of comprehending and recalling
what has been said. Also, since children cannot read...show more content...
An open mind serves as a foundation against cultural stereotypes, which is important to address in
young children in order to build positive social relationships with others as the children grow older.
Learning a foreign language stimulates brain development in children. At birth, the brain has
billions of cells. As the baby learns, connections are made between the brain cells, and these
connections are called synapses. While the baby grows older and learns new information, new
synapses are established. Also, the more frequently the child uses the synapses, the stronger the
synapses become. Synapses used less frequently become weak, and learned information will be
difficult to recall. In terms of language, learning a language comes naturally from the point a child
is born: from recognizing sounds, to learning words, and finally, to constructing sentences. For a
young child, synapses for language are readily constructed in the brain; however, the more time
that passes, the harder it is to construct new synapses in the brain of an older person. A foreign
language is easier to learn in a younger person because synapses are readily being constructed and
reinforced, as opposed to adults or even teenagers who cannot build language synapses as readily.

A Persuasive Speech: Bullying At School
Growing up many kids and teenagers don't expect to get bullied. Many are bullied for being
different than others. There all comes a point where we ask why me why is it bullying me. Many
times the bullies do it for attention and making themselves look more, more. Believing in the end
of this is what keeps us going and fighting in our daily lives and trying to prove the ones who
bullied us wrong. For many it becomes too serious and prefer to put an end to the misery and the
torment of the things that happen in their lives. Imagine a place where none of this happens,
standing up for yourself can take you to this place.

Persuasive Essay On The Right Of Education
Did you know that 61 million children in the world do not attend school by choice? Did you also
know that the majority of those 61 million children are girls? What is the reason that is causing
people, mostly girls to choose not to go to school. Education is "the act or process of imparting or
acquiring general knowledge, developing the powers of reasoning and judgment, and generally of
preparing oneself or others intellectually for mature life" (dictionary.com) and "the act or process
of imparting or acquiring particular knowledge or skills, as for a profession" (dictionary.com). In
today's society it is nearly impossible to find a decent job that does not require a degree. Although
by law children have to go to school up until a certain age, education is a privilege to the ones who
want to be successful. Many children drop out of school or decide not to go to college when they
are able to make those decisions. A right and a privilege may have many similarities but they also
have a lot of important differences. A right is defined as "granted by society to its members in order
for it to function" (Merriam–Webster Dictionary) A privilege is defined as "granted by a group or
individual as either a reward for, or conditional upon, good behavior" (Merriam–Webster Dictionary).

Persuasive Essay On Education Reform
Educational reform is yet to be perfected. Teachers shape the minds of students to realize what their
purpose is in life. Lately, because of certain educational reforms, it has been hard for teachers to say
what they need to say. "In 40–plus states, the math and English guidelines determine the knowledge
students have to master by the end of each grade, what they'll be tested on this year, and in many
cases, how teachers and principals will be rated at their jobs once those test scores are released"
(Strauss). Most educational reforms are adopting standardized testing and should be reconsidered.
Statistics even show that since we have taken part in reforms like No Child Left Behind, Race to the
Top, and Common Core State Standards math and reading are declining. These standards tell
teachers what to teach and what the students should know by the end of the school year. The reforms
also evaluate teacher performance by how well the students learn the information. Some people
believe educational reforms should not be telling teachers how to teach their students, and others
believe that the reforms are absolutely fine the way they are. However the truth is educational
reforms are yet to be perfected.
One point of view a person could have about educational reform is that students throughout the
country should all have the same high–quality standards. Issues and Controversies states,"All states
should adhere to similar academic standards so that American youth are

Persuasive Essay About Becoming A Teacher
Teaching has always been a part of my life. The idea of learning new things intrigued me from a
young age. I watched my older brother go to school for years before I finally started my first day of
kindergarten. I recall begging my mom to buy me a book–bag and give me homework to do like my
brother received. I was fascinated with school and once I started kindergarten, I loved it. My
kindergarten teacher made the classroom feel like home and encouraged us to always be our best.
This is also where the idea of becoming a teacher started brewing in my brain. There was one
afternoon, where I told my kindergarten teacher that I loved kindergarten so much, I wanted to
become a kindergarten teacher like her. Although she found it sweet, she actually responded by
telling me I should look into other careers instead of teaching. Looking back at her suggestion, I
understand why she suggested I look into other careers. Being a teacher is not as simple as it looks. I
am fortunate enough to have taught in New Paltz, Poughkeepsie, Manhattan, and Binghamton. I am
currently substituting in the Binghamton School Districts. There are so many challenges teachers
deal with inside and outside of the classroom. I witness various of misunderstandings in the
classroom between teachers in their students. Curriculums are also constantly changing and they are
not always in the best interest of the students. Education field is a tricky field to be in, but it contains

Is the D.A.R.E. Program effective?
I. Introduction
Class Poll: How many of you have been in or heard of the D.A.R.E. Program?
Now, keep your hands raised if you think the D.A.R.E. Program has prevented either yourself or
other people you know from violence, drinking, or drugs?
Tell the story about when the D.A.R.E. Program visited my elementary school.
While this week long event was fun as a kid, its information doesn't affect most kids later on in life.
The program's methods and efforts began to go unnoticed.
II. Body
D.A.R.E does not prevent drug use in all ages.
So for those of you who don't know about the program, it's a program that goes around schools
presenting the phrase D.A.R.E. D.A.R.E. stands for Drug Abuse Resistance Education. According to
D.A.R.E., it teaches effective peer resistance and refusal skills so that adolescents can say "no" to
drugs and their friends who may want them to use drugs (D.A.R.E. America). So basically it
provides children with the information and skills they need to live a drug and violence free lives.
Most people would agree that D.A.R.E. is an effective program for all ages, but studies have shown
that in the long run, the D.A.R.E. program does not help prevent or reduce the use of illicit drugs in
elementary, middle, or high school students.
But because D.A.R.E. was specifically created to prevent drug use, of course there will be studies
that show that the D.A.R.E.

Persuasive Essay On Mental Health
"Nearly 5 million children in the U.S. have some type of mental illness" (Goldberg). It is agreeable
that there are many young children that deal with mental illness every day. Schools should be
concerned for every student's well being. Moreover, mental health is a part of a person's overall
"well being." Therefore, schools need to make the mental health of students a stronger focus and
implement plans to keep students mentally well and educated. To help create a positive, mental
health aware environment where students feel open to seek help, high school students should be
educated on how to be mentally healthy, be given a safe place to seek help, and be encouraged to
monitor and maintain their mental health. Mental illness and mental health care need to be a more
eminent priority in our society, starting with high schools.
Schools need to educate parents and children about mental health and illness. According to an article
published by the Association for Children's Mental Health, "1 in 5 children and youth have a
diagnosable emotional, behavioral or mental health disorder and 1 in 10 young people have a mental
health challenge that is severe enough to impair how they function at home, school or in the
community" (Problems at School). Schools could hold educational meetings on mental health to
inform and aid parents and children to determine when they need to address mental health.
Additionally, incorporating a stronger mental health aspect in the state required health

  • 1. Persuasive Essay On Early Childhood Education Beggining ones education young, prepares one for the future. Early education has been proven to be beneficial in many aspects throughout life. Children may dread the idea of starting early but in the long run starting early can make a significant difference. Also some may even be ahead of his /her peers in the following years. Early childhood education should be a requirement due to the ability it has to help gain early skills, necessary positive behaviors, and increased brain development. Children dont have to go to a legit child care facility to get an early education. Early childhood education comes in many forms most of the learning starts at home. "Playing with your child helps keep your child engaged in the kind of play where learning occurs. Your interest, questions, and comments as you play alongside will help your child use toys productively,"(How to Support Children's Approaches to Learning?). In saying that children learn best through play based experiences they learn from things they experience or items they can touch and hold. Children learn from the comments thier parents give, they pick up on the little things. Children who don't participate in some type of quality education programs are 50 percent more likely to be placed in special education. Children are also 25 percent more like to dropout of school and are 60 percent more likely to never attend college. 40 percent are more likely to become teen parents ,and finally 70 percent more likely to become a teen parent. Not all children comprehend things at the same level, that's why it is so important to teach them basic skills young so later on throughout life certain tasks will not be so hard for them. Children can also gain life skills just by doing simple things such as working puzzles. While working the puzzles children gain problem solving skills as they try and fit the pieces together and figure out what goes where, it also develops a sense of persistance.(How to Support Children's approach to learning?). Children need to learn the basic skill of problem solving because it is needed for tasks throughout life whether it is a math problem or real life problems. Persistence is needed in many situations where the child may want to Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. Persuasive Essay On Elementary Education In the words of Dr. Seuss, "The more that [an individual] read[s], the more things [they] will know. The more that [they] learn, the more places [they will] go." Students are our future and we need reliable, dedicated, sufficient, driven teachers. Not just any individual can be a true teacher; students are special and need a special person to touch their hearts, minds, and souls. Teachers form the world; producing, inspiring, and providing students with the options and opportunities for their future. A Bachelor degree is the minimal requirement, but perhaps a very realistic goal in four years. Reading through many articles I find teachers definitely teach for passion, not money. Every class and individual student is different and technology is becoming superior in many classrooms, positively and negatively. By 2025, most classrooms will be using computers and technology for education and curriculum. I find competition between college never fails. Going into Elementary Education (K–6) there are many college programs to choose from. www.bestcolleges.com provides the information that in the state of Kansas, Pittsburg State University (PSU) is ranked sixth of 45 and Emporia State University (ESU) is ranked eighth of 45. (The 45 Best Colleges in Kansas for 2017) By attending PSU, a student would spend $572 more on tuition than compared to ESU; however, PSU has 72 academic programs as well as having their elementary education program ranked as one of their three most popular Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. Persuasive Essay On Public School Education Public school education seemed to prepare me for every piece of knowledge necessary; with the exception of common adult skills. Following graduation, this went unnoticed until I was faced with situations that I was not prepared for. There is undoubtedly a flaw in today's education system when high school seniors graduate without the common knowledge to perform necessary adult tasks. Schools need to place a higher priority on teaching life skills rather than strictly focusing on educational facts. Budget cuts have taken beneficial information, such as life skills, out of the school 's itinerary. When essential life lessons are left out of teacher handbooks, students are left to self teach the information that could have been taught otherwise. This results in young adults who are hopeful not to generate monumental mistakes while making potentially life altering decisions; through trial and error. First of all, schools tend to prioritize some ineffective information within each core subject. For example, memorizing the periodic table is often a requirement in high school science classes. While the information may be fascinating, this skill will rarely be used within the lifetime of any of the students spending quality time to load this information into their brains. Likewise, in history class weeks are spent reciting specific qualities of our first presidential families' personal lives. While it is vital to teach students about our presidents to understand democracy, lessons go astray when extending out on personal information like the illness of Abraham Lincoln's son, for instance. These lessons can take away time that students could spend learning additional topics pertaining to life skills. Third, schools could allow students free reign to research the Wild West, for example, rather than the vital health signs of their own body. The problem is, mandatory curriculum focuses on the retention in postsecondary institutions; forgetting the importance of success in life in general. The main priority of teacher guidelines are to prepare their students for college; allowing no attention to the rest of the important circumstances a young adult will also encounter. Furthermore, innumerable jobs do not require but the Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. Dear Professors, If I had to take a real –world view of my desired profession to be an Elementary School teacher, I would hope that the economy would be good because of the current lower salary that teachers make. I'm obviously not in this career for the money nor do I expect my salary to be an issue but if I could imagine, I'd hope that I'd find myself in a world where I can be financially stable as well as find rewards in other aspects of my job. This book really asks us as humans, specifically as college students to do better for the environment and asks that we see how we affect the environment in every single action we make. I see teaching as a calling– a way of making a difference. It's not a job to do for the money. You have Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 5. Are Smartphones good for children Smartphones have grown in number across all ages as the years have passed, especially with younger children in middle and elementary school. Every time that I go out to eat I see a family with a kid that looks about the age of a elementary school student that the parents just give them their phone to keep them quiet. But is that a good problem solver or bad, like in school, is it ok to have elementary students use smartphones in class. Some parents believe that children in elementary school should have smartphones in class if it will help, whereas some believe that they should not because it will just be a distraction. In an article called "Smartphones" from Opposing Viewpoints Online Collection, Gale, 2016. Opposing Viewpoints in Context, they believe that smartphones can be really good for everyone including kids but may also be a distraction. Mainly, the article says that smartphones are the cause of a lot of problems that are happening to kids like cheating during quizzes, tests, or exams. Smartphones can also aide child narcissism through them taking selfies, and might be the main cause of cyber bullying, because when kids take selfies, no one really knows how other people will react to the photo on social media which may also cause anxiety to some people who are afraid of being bullied because of how they look in their picture. When kids spend more time on their phones, it could result in less physical activity outside of school and increases the rate of overweight elementary students in the united states. However, Smartphones can be used for medicinal through apps that track your steps throughout the day to helping someone understand CPR or remember the steps to CPR in a very important moment that could save someone's life. Also, smartphones can benefit classrooms in big way if used correctly and if monitored by teachers and staff, but could also be very distracting and a worse way of cheating if not done correctly. Smartphones can benefit classroom learning experiences because they can help students on homework at home by allowing them to lookup any answers that they need, but this could be bad if that is all they do to just get answers and not do any work. • 7. Persuasive Essay About High School Starting school when you're four years old changes tremendously to when you're seventeen or eighteen. There are a few things about school that remain the same, but many more changes are made throughout the years. Gradually homework gets harder and more complex, teachers change, different activities are added, and much more. Elementary is just the base of what your life will be like in the future. High School prepares you more for the rest of your life and is when you individually get to have options and decisions to make. Elementary school consists of learning vocabulary (words), making friends, basic math, and playing outside for recess. The classes you take in Elementary are mandatory. You have to take Math, Science, Language Arts, P.E., Music, Social Studies, Art, and Reading without have a choice on which class to take. There are no complex levels of classes that you can take. Everyone is in the same class and it's usually with the same teacher. For example, your third grade teacher would teach all your classes to you and you would stay in the same room for almost the whole day besides for Art, Music, and P.E. There are normally three teachers for each grade which means your entire grade would be split up into three groups and those are the groups you'll be with the whole year. Recess and lunch was the only times you could see your other friends that are in your grade. • 8. Persuasive Essay On Right To Education A lot of teens nowadays dread waking up to a blaring alarm in the morning, only to go to school, dreadful and boring. Realistically, those teens haven't seen the struggles many other people their age and younger go through. Most children in America have had the privilege of having access to public education, unfortunately this opportunity isn't available to most children around the globe. It's easy to say you "hate" school when you have always had that option around for you; Like they say, you don't know what you have until its gone. Many things have affected a countries ability to give their people access to a decent education, sometimes it can be religion that stops children or the simple fact that education and funding it can get expensive. Although the complications can be vast, there are relatively simple solutions to them; People just need to start caring. The shortage of education has been vast and historic, "More than 72 million children of primary education age are not in school and 759 million adults are illiterate and do not have the awareness necessary to improve both their living conditions and those of their children."("Right to Education: Situation Around the World." n.d) Education is a vital part of any society, but isn't in the reach of an abundance of children all around the world because of low–to–nonexistent educational budgets, a gender barrier that prevents many from continuing their studies, and that fact that many children live in conflict–filled Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 9. Persuasive Short Stories As we are nearing our destination our bus driver yells out "I am going to stop at this gas station and fill up." When our bus driver came back onto the bus he exclaimed "The gas station is out of gasoline so we will stay here overnight." Then, everyone in the bus started grunting and moaning. "But guys we can make this fun if we tell stories to pass the time, Here, I will start." I said. And we began telling each other our stories. "Can we please adopt this one, Mom? Pretty please, he is so cute! With his bright green eyes and his pink little nose," said Jacob, a thirteen year old boy with red hair. "After this we will be pretty much bankrupt," said Jacob's mom, with her deep blue eyes staring into Jacob's "Please just this one thats all," said Jacob "Ok but promise me that you will take responsibility of him by taking care of him," said Jacob's mom. And they strutted to the individual behind the counter. When they got back home with their new puppy they decided to name him Spot due to a cinnamon–colored spot on his back. The next morning, when Jacob woke up he noticed that Spot's nose is not the same shade of pink. In fact, it is quite pale. "Mom we need to take spot to the vet now!" screamed Jacob wistfully. "Ok, I will get Spot while you get in the car," replied Mom. When they got to their destination, Jacob sprinted out of the car and went to the vet's office and almost immediately the vet said "Spot is going to need surgery, do you have insurance?" • 10. Persuasive Essay About Education Education is something that most can receive for free at a young age, but once students graduate from high school, free education is no longer provided to those who desire and need it, yet more employers are looking for those with college education, and even worse, college is more expensive than ever. This year, "only 34% of American jobs require ahigh school diploma or less, compared to 72% in the 1970s." (Carnevale & Smith, 2017) Education is a right that everyone should have, and it is that way until after high school, when it matters the most. Education also supports the growth of civil society, democracy, and political stability, allowing people to learn about their rights and acquire the skills and knowledge necessary to exercise them. However, these things along with other important information that comes into adulthood such as taxes are not even being taught in the curriculum of high schools and therefore not preparing the students for some of the most challenging yet ordinary tasks they will have to deal with in their adult lives. Instead, they must either learn these skills themselves, from someone they know, or be among the few who are fortunate enough to get a class with a teacher kind enough to teach them. The American education system is failing in numerous areas, causing us to fall behind other countries, and further delaying the advancement of our society. Education should assist in giving people the skills they will need in life earlier to help them from Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 11. Persuasive Essay On Education In School Education is a crucial aspect of people's lives. In the United States and numerous other countries, we are reminded throughout our twelve years of mandatory schooling that we must do well so that we can get into a good college, achieve a degree, and then lead an accomplished and fulfilling career. Despite the fact that this idea is drilled into our heads from a very young age, our system of education does not provide each child with the same amount of support and encouragement. A vast number of black children are penalized for simply wearing their hair in its natural state. There have been numerous instances in which black children are threatened with detention, suspension, and even expulsion if they refused to change their hairstyle into...show more content... Deanna and Mya Cook are two adopted twin sisters from Massachusetts who faced similar discrimination for their hairstyles. The twin girls went to school with freshly done box braids and were told that their new style did not coincide with their school's dress code. These girls faced several harsh punishments like being unable to attend prom, being unable to attend their graduation, and the twins were even told that they would be thrown out of school if they did not change their hair. When an eight–year–old third–grader wore her hair styled in a "frohawk", a popular style that combines an afro and a mohawk, for school at Tarver Elementary in Belton, Texas she was pulled out of class. The school's justification for this decision was by alleging that the eight–year–old girl's hairstyle was not in accordance with the school's dress code policy, however, mohawks, the exact same style sans the afro–textured hair, is allowed. The testimonies of these girls and their parents are obvious acts of resistance. Their stories made headlines and people across the country know who they are and how they were wronged. Rather than enduring the unjust punishments and accepting their circumstances they spoke up. They used their voices and projected them loudly through social media. They were able to utilize their platforms so that they oppose the prejudice. Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 12. Children are vastly influenced by their elementary education. The fundamentals and basics of a child's education begins with language, more specifically, reading and writing. These children are the future cognitively, socially, and physically and they should be provided with the most effective educational techniques available. While children are young, they should be provided with those techniques by starting at the beginning: foreign language. Children should learn a foreign language at the elementary school level. Learning a foreign language trains children to be attentive listeners. When children have good listening abilities, they are more capable of comprehending and recalling what has been said. Also, since children cannot read...show more content... An open mind serves as a foundation against cultural stereotypes, which is important to address in young children in order to build positive social relationships with others as the children grow older. Learning a foreign language stimulates brain development in children. At birth, the brain has billions of cells. As the baby learns, connections are made between the brain cells, and these connections are called synapses. While the baby grows older and learns new information, new synapses are established. Also, the more frequently the child uses the synapses, the stronger the synapses become. Synapses used less frequently become weak, and learned information will be difficult to recall. In terms of language, learning a language comes naturally from the point a child is born: from recognizing sounds, to learning words, and finally, to constructing sentences. For a young child, synapses for language are readily constructed in the brain; however, the more time that passes, the harder it is to construct new synapses in the brain of an older person. A foreign language is easier to learn in a younger person because synapses are readily being constructed and reinforced, as opposed to adults or even teenagers who cannot build language synapses as readily. • 13. A Persuasive Speech: Bullying At School Growing up many kids and teenagers don't expect to get bullied. Many are bullied for being different than others. There all comes a point where we ask why me why is it bullying me. Many times the bullies do it for attention and making themselves look more, more. Believing in the end of this is what keeps us going and fighting in our daily lives and trying to prove the ones who bullied us wrong. For many it becomes too serious and prefer to put an end to the misery and the torment of the things that happen in their lives. Imagine a place where none of this happens, standing up for yourself can take you to this place. I was little walking with my mom to my first day of school excited and nervous at the same time not ready to leave my mom's side, no one was it's safer right next to her. Finally time came to say goodbye, and hello 13 years of school. • 14. Persuasive Essay On The Right Of Education Did you know that 61 million children in the world do not attend school by choice? Did you also know that the majority of those 61 million children are girls? What is the reason that is causing people, mostly girls to choose not to go to school. Education is "the act or process of imparting or acquiring general knowledge, developing the powers of reasoning and judgment, and generally of preparing oneself or others intellectually for mature life" (dictionary.com) and "the act or process of imparting or acquiring particular knowledge or skills, as for a profession" (dictionary.com). In today's society it is nearly impossible to find a decent job that does not require a degree. Although by law children have to go to school up until a certain age, education is a privilege to the ones who want to be successful. Many children drop out of school or decide not to go to college when they are able to make those decisions. A right and a privilege may have many similarities but they also have a lot of important differences. A right is defined as "granted by society to its members in order for it to function" (Merriam–Webster Dictionary) A privilege is defined as "granted by a group or individual as either a reward for, or conditional upon, good behavior" (Merriam–Webster Dictionary). Yes, a student may have the right to drop out of school or continue to not go on with their education, but they do not have the right to education and to knowing the different knowledge without attending Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 15. Persuasive Essay On Education Reform Educational reform is yet to be perfected. Teachers shape the minds of students to realize what their purpose is in life. Lately, because of certain educational reforms, it has been hard for teachers to say what they need to say. "In 40–plus states, the math and English guidelines determine the knowledge students have to master by the end of each grade, what they'll be tested on this year, and in many cases, how teachers and principals will be rated at their jobs once those test scores are released" (Strauss). Most educational reforms are adopting standardized testing and should be reconsidered. Statistics even show that since we have taken part in reforms like No Child Left Behind, Race to the Top, and Common Core State Standards math and reading are declining. These standards tell teachers what to teach and what the students should know by the end of the school year. The reforms also evaluate teacher performance by how well the students learn the information. Some people believe educational reforms should not be telling teachers how to teach their students, and others believe that the reforms are absolutely fine the way they are. However the truth is educational reforms are yet to be perfected. One point of view a person could have about educational reform is that students throughout the country should all have the same high–quality standards. Issues and Controversies states,"All states should adhere to similar academic standards so that American youth are Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Screen time isnt always a bad thing though. Technology has improved throughout the years, and it's no longer necessary to fear it. Screen use and technology have been proven to be essential parts of our everyday life. It only makes sense to encourage our children to take part in reaping the many benefits it has to offer. • 17. Persuasive Essay About Becoming A Teacher Teaching has always been a part of my life. The idea of learning new things intrigued me from a young age. I watched my older brother go to school for years before I finally started my first day of kindergarten. I recall begging my mom to buy me a book–bag and give me homework to do like my brother received. I was fascinated with school and once I started kindergarten, I loved it. My kindergarten teacher made the classroom feel like home and encouraged us to always be our best. This is also where the idea of becoming a teacher started brewing in my brain. There was one afternoon, where I told my kindergarten teacher that I loved kindergarten so much, I wanted to become a kindergarten teacher like her. Although she found it sweet, she actually responded by telling me I should look into other careers instead of teaching. Looking back at her suggestion, I understand why she suggested I look into other careers. Being a teacher is not as simple as it looks. I am fortunate enough to have taught in New Paltz, Poughkeepsie, Manhattan, and Binghamton. I am currently substituting in the Binghamton School Districts. There are so many challenges teachers deal with inside and outside of the classroom. I witness various of misunderstandings in the classroom between teachers in their students. Curriculums are also constantly changing and they are not always in the best interest of the students. Education field is a tricky field to be in, but it contains so many personal rewards. • 18. Persuasive Speech : Public Speaking Hekanne Simbolon Final Speech Persuasive Speech Public Speaking Is the D.A.R.E. Program effective? I. Introduction Class Poll: How many of you have been in or heard of the D.A.R.E. Program? Now, keep your hands raised if you think the D.A.R.E. Program has prevented either yourself or other people you know from violence, drinking, or drugs? Tell the story about when the D.A.R.E. Program visited my elementary school. While this week long event was fun as a kid, its information doesn't affect most kids later on in life. The program's methods and efforts began to go unnoticed. II. Body D.A.R.E does not prevent drug use in all ages. So for those of you who don't know about the program, it's a program that goes around schools presenting the phrase D.A.R.E. D.A.R.E. stands for Drug Abuse Resistance Education. According to D.A.R.E., it teaches effective peer resistance and refusal skills so that adolescents can say "no" to drugs and their friends who may want them to use drugs (D.A.R.E. America). So basically it provides children with the information and skills they need to live a drug and violence free lives. Most people would agree that D.A.R.E. is an effective program for all ages, but studies have shown that in the long run, the D.A.R.E. program does not help prevent or reduce the use of illicit drugs in elementary, middle, or high school students. But because D.A.R.E. was specifically created to prevent drug use, of course there will be studies that show that the D.A.R.E. Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 20. Persuasive Essay On Mental Health "Nearly 5 million children in the U.S. have some type of mental illness" (Goldberg). It is agreeable that there are many young children that deal with mental illness every day. Schools should be concerned for every student's well being. Moreover, mental health is a part of a person's overall "well being." Therefore, schools need to make the mental health of students a stronger focus and implement plans to keep students mentally well and educated. To help create a positive, mental health aware environment where students feel open to seek help, high school students should be educated on how to be mentally healthy, be given a safe place to seek help, and be encouraged to monitor and maintain their mental health. Mental illness and mental health care need to be a more eminent priority in our society, starting with high schools. Schools need to educate parents and children about mental health and illness. According to an article published by the Association for Children's Mental Health, "1 in 5 children and youth have a diagnosable emotional, behavioral or mental health disorder and 1 in 10 young people have a mental health challenge that is severe enough to impair how they function at home, school or in the community" (Problems at School). Schools could hold educational meetings on mental health to inform and aid parents and children to determine when they need to address mental health. Additionally, incorporating a stronger mental health aspect in the state required health Get more content on HelpWriting.net
