Narrative Essay About My Dream
When people ask me, "what's your earliest memories?" I always have this weird response.
Whether it was a dream I had when I was little, or truly experiences from the womb, who knows.
Yet they still remain vivid in my mind. I can imagine myself "popping into existence" and just
floating in a void, no realization of my body, just me existing. But even then I knew I was someone
special, someone set apart from the rest. For what reasons I had no clue of yet.
At the time of my birth, my parents were here over in the states in Wisconsin, though at the time
they were living in Japan, as my dad was serving as an air traffic controller at the military base and
my mom being an en I remember virtually nothing from Japan, as when I was only...show more

Following the service, we'd head downstairs for snacks and coffee. I didn't dare taste that filthy
coffee, but I could easily grab myself some of my mom's homemade cherry coffeecake and some
little debbies' snacks. While all the other adults would make small talk above us, us little kids
would goof around and play. Except I often didn't play with the others, I'd find myself a good corner
and focus my attention intently on one individual toy. This is how playtime usually went for me. I
studied the physics and used my senses to gather information about the toy.
After that little bit of time, it would be time for Sunday school over at the parsonage. There the
pastor's wife, with her short white hair would have worksheets–o–plenty for us to fill out as she
taught the lesson. We'd learn about Adam and Eve, Noah, David, Jonah, Jesus, Paul...all the typical
Biblical characters you'd imagine. Of course they were a bit sanitized to get rid of the messiness that
was portrayed in the Bible due to our age, but it was mostly the same message. Though sometimes,
we'd get lucky and get to watch a VHS of Veggietales or Superbook!
Afterwords, since most of the time my parents were finishing up in Bible study, I'd go lay on the
grass in front of the church and gaze up into the clouds. I'd try to come up with shapes that were
forming as I'd listen to the loud buzz of all the cars driving on the freeway right by us (yes, the
church was

A Girl of Dreams Essay
A girl of 14 years, a girl of dreams, a girl of goals, that's who I am. I'm a person that believes that
dreams and goals are what we live for, facing obstructions and handling them are suspension of
live, and what we love is the fuel that keeps us moving toward our dreams. For me life is like a
path a long one. A path that has splinters and nails, a path that sometimes is so dark that u don't
know where you're heading to, but at the end of that path there's a light the light that we're all
heading to. At that path you meet people on your way; some may leave remarkable things and
touches on you, others may leave scares. Along that long path of mine, I've faced tigers and lions,
wholes and logs, but I never gave up I kept on standing after...show more content...
I don't just want to be a normal surgeon that has a daily routine; I want to be a person that
changed something in the world, a person that invented a new thing on Earth a device, surgery,
medicine, or perhaps even just a formula. Simply I want to be one of a kind, because I know there
is something different in me something unique something that makes me different from others.
That's only one of my dreams, but that's the biggest one. That goal is what I'm looking forward to
accomplish through my studies. Let's now look to my passion which is writing. Writing is
something I really enjoy, I can sit write and write for hours without even getting tired a bit. A pen
that describes and gets out of you everything you feel about something and just puts it on a paper
that's writing for me. It's something that gets out of you creativity, gets out of you beautiful things
that you might not even know that it's there. Although writing is my passion its also one of my
hobbies, other hobbies include horseback riding, drawing, and last but not least reading. Horses are
animals that I admire since I was young, and I love riding them. One of the things I like most about
horses is the sound their feet make while they run. That sound, oh it's the sound of power; the sound
of running toward dreams, that sound

Sleeping and Dreaming Essay
Each night without fail our eyes grow heavy and our minds tired, and dreaming we drag ourselves
to bed and normally fall asleep quickly and peacefully off to dream land we go. Why is this
though? Why do we sleep every night? Why do we awake with dream fresh in our heads? How
important is this most basic human routine to our survival? What happens when it is disturbed?
Sleeping is extremely important for all mammals, but humans especially. Without sleep we are
unable to function properly and at our fullest abilities. When we sleep we grow, and it is an
opportunity for us to dream which has many benefits. Sleep is also a way for us to relieve ourselves
of stress. Sleeping is a very unique process, performed only by creature with brains...show more

The brains electrical activity is able to be measured with an electroencephalograph (EEG). The
EEG measures your brain activity or brain waves. When you are awake and alert you exhibit beta
waves which are small and fast, but immediately before sleep and when you are relaxed and
allowing your mind to wander you exhibit alpha waves, and during deep sleep there are large
slow waves called delta waves (2). It resulted in major leap in what was known about sleeping.
The first phase of modern sleep research is roughly considered to be 1928 through 1953 (1). A lot
of new information about sleeping was gained during this time period. The brains electrical

has its own system to tell us when to sleep and when to wake, our circadian rhythm. The human
body naturally runs on a twenty five hour clock, so living on a twenty four hour schedule is often
hard on the body because it loses an hour each day. On top of this natural loss most people do not
get the right amount of sleep each night which can cause a whole host of problems. This is part of

My Dream At A Great University
We all have dream in our lives whether it is about attending a dream university, or having a dream
career, job, or working for some big company, or even marrying your dream man/woman. As we
grow older, our dreams evolve. For example, when you're a child, your dream is to be in 12th
grade; at least that was my dream, when I was in 2nd grade. I couldn 't think of anything else, but
see myself as a high school senior. When I was finally in 12th grade, my dream was to attend a
great university. Now that I'm about to be college senior, my dream is to work for some massive
company as a software engineer. Although I can talk about many dreams that I have, I'll primary

Apple had 463 stores in just 18 countries and an online store available in 39 counties. Apple is
continuing to open even more stores in upcoming years. Apple stores are so popular that Apple
stores get more than one million visitors per day worldwide; if we put this into perspective, when
we compare these many visitors to Disney theme parks' visitors, Disney only gets about 130
million visitors per year. In the article, "The 11 Most Beautiful Apple Stores In The World",
Madeline Stone from Business Insider writes, "The Apple Store is an incredible retail success. In

What Dreams Are Essay
What Dreams Are
Dreams, we all have them at one time or another, and in one form or another. They can be
daydreams, when we're awake, wishing and hoping for something more (bigger and better) than
we already have, or the way we hope things should and would be. Next there is the wish, this is
when there is a strong desire for a specific thing, a longing for one particular thing. Then there is
the nightmare. They are the dreams that are very disturbing, full of fear and horror. They are often
a very scary event played out while one is asleep, although we do not know we are asleep. "Dreams
are a sequence of images etc. passing through a sleeping persons mind" (Webster's 182). Because
dreams are often complex and very vivid, many...show more content...
"A secretion of our thoughts, and through them our thought is purified" (Webster's 155). Adaydream
is a passive imagination. "If we mistake these imaginings for reality, they would be called
hallucinations" (World 67). Daydreams allow one to temporarily escape from reality, to
overcome frustration or satisfy hidden wishes. However when one lives only in his daydreams,
he may have a serious mental disorder. The daydreamer may imagine himself as a hero or
superstar or a highly successful businessman. These daydreams are universal and may actually
help the person's ambition or creativity. Wish, "a strong desire and longing for a specific thing"
(Webster's 1336). A wish is to hope for something with the expectation of it being fulfilled. We
continue to hope and wish for things all our lives, but it seems "Young people have an almost
biological destiny to be hopeful" (Digest 49). Our great writers have often used the word wish in
their writings. Shakespeare is often quoted in his work, for instance; "Wish–vb. Recommended (a
person) to (another), commend to SHR 1. 1. 112. I wish him to her father, SHR 1. 2. 60." To wish
for something is similar to a daydream; however, it is usually for a particular thing, like a bigger
and better house or car. Also a wish can be an illusion where one's perception of reality is mistaken.
Nightmare, "A frightening dream, often accompanied by a sensation of

dreams and goals Essay
One of the amazing things we have been given as humans is the unquenchable desire to have
dreams of a better life, and the ability to establish goals to live out those dreams. Think of it: We
can look deep within our hearts and dream of a better situation for ourselves and our families;
dream of better financial lives and better emotional or physical lives; certainly dream of better
spiritual lives. But what makes this even more powerful is that we have also been given the ability
to not only dream but to pursue those dreams, and not only to pursue them, but the cognitive ability
to actually lay out a plan and strategies (setting goals) to achieve those dreams. Powerful!
What are your dreams and goals? This isn't what you already have...show more content...
No other people. No cell phone. No computer. Just you, a pad, a pen, and your thoughts.
Think about what really thrills you. When you are quiet, think about those things that really get
your blood moving. What would you LOVE to do, either for fun or for a living? What would you
love to accomplish? What would you try if you were guaranteed to succeed? What big thoughts
move your heart into a state of excitement and joy? When you answer these questions, you will
feel great and you will be in the "dream zone." It is only when we get to this point that we
experience what our dreams are!
Write down all of your dreams as you have them. Don't think of any as too outlandish or
foolish–remember, you're dreaming! Let the thoughts fly and take careful record.
Now, prioritize those dreams. Which are most important? Which are most feasible? Which would
you love to do the most? Put them in the order in which you will actually try to attain them.
Remember, we are always moving toward action, not just dreaming.
Here is the big picture: Life is too short to not pursue your dreams. Someday your life will near its
end and all you will be able to do is look backward. You can reflect with joy or regret. Those who
dream, who set goals and act on them to live out their dreams, are those who live lives of joy and
have a sense of peace when they near the end of their lives. They have finished well, for themselves
and for their families.

The Meaning of a Dream
The best part of a long, hard–working day is when you finally get to lay in your bed, close your
eyes and let your imagination run free. As you sleep your mind takes you to another place far
away from the real world. You begin to dream. Over the night, you may have several dreams. In the
morning, you may wake up and wonder what your dreams were suppose to mean for you and your
life. By analyzing your dream, it "gives a true picture of the 'subjective state'–how we really feel
about ourselves–which the conscious mind cannot or will not give" (Wietz 289). In order to find the
meaning of a dream, you have to pick out the most important symbols and define them. But you may
be wondering what exactly is a symbol?...show more content...
My dream began in a huge mansion late one night. I began to walk down the long, narrow hall.
Bright flashes of lightning lit up the hallway for seconds at a time and bangs of thunder shook
the whole house. Candles were lined up along my path to light my way slightly. As I walked
further and further, I approached the end of the hall where a full sized statue stood. It was
standing in shadows and so I had to get close to see it well. All of a sudden, the statue lifted up his
solid steel foot with the worn sole of his shabby shoe facing me. It was trying to show me
something on the bottom but it was too dark for me to see. I was frightened and began to run in the
opposite direction down the hall. Then I woke up. What could this dream mean for my life and me?
I wanted to find out.
The lightning was one symbol the really stood out from the rest. As a symbol, the lightning could
"represent...energy and a fantastic, altering force. It is generally a positive dream symbol which
represents the dreamers 'awakened' state of consciousness. At times, a sudden shift in awareness, or
unpredictable news, may shock us and leave us feeling anxious. However, enlightenment of any
kind has long term positive implications" (Ivin). The form of the lightning could transform its
meaning. "If you see strong lightning in your dream you will find yourself the recipient of a
fantastic money making idea that really works. And if you see lightning flash from the sky and

Life Is A Dream Essay
Row, row, row your boat, gently down the stream, merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily, life is but a
dream....
Life is a gift. Life is but a dream, never would I have imagined that I'd be a high school senior on
the brink of my future after the 11th and 12th of September 2016, my life changed. September
11th I had been whipped with a belt from the crown of my head to the soles of my feet, standing
at the door of my home that I would soon have to leave, no tears fell from my cheek fore I was
reminded of my savior on the cross. From that moment on a knew my life was about to change.
September 12th, the day began with an attempted overdose by two amazing women and a loved
one who lost his life's work on the very day that he was born. So close to the unobtainable American
Dream, mine had been deferred. Life is ever changing.
Extracted from the comfort of my hometown, I had the opportunity to attend one of the best
schools in Mobile County. Faced with many challenges I managed to make lifelong friends, set
an example for others, and learn to accept and respect perspectives that are not my own. I had
come from a small town with people who were simple minded and were afraid to push the
envelope. The change in location exposed me to a more diverse student body and equipt me with
the tools I needed to expand my intellect and world view. I was chosen to be a peer tutor on the
special education hall, frowned upon by my Ap teachers who encouraged me to drop the class. I am
immensely grateful to have been among such intelligent individuals. My unit focused on students
with Asperger Syndrome, a developmental disorder affecting ability to effectively socialize and
communicate. I had built relationships with the students and immediately fell in love with their
ability to be brutally honest. I was one of few who appreciated their honesty and they accepted
my friendship because of it. The truth hurts but so does life. That was something I needed in such
a dark time in my life, a meeting with reality itself. They allowed me to see the beauty in the
struggle. They taught me to be honest with myself. My purpose in life had gone missing in a bowl
of Campbell's number soup. All my life I've been a series of numbers, not a

Essay On Living The Dream
Living the Dream: An Analysis on Why We Dream and Freud's Early Work Living the Dream: An
Analysis on Why We Dream and Freud's Early Work It happens every night, whether you remember
it or not and they can affect us long after we experience them. They are dreams and they continue to
remain one of the biggest mysteries of the human mind. Psychologists have tried to comprehend why
we dream and what our dreams mean but have yet to discover the truth behind them. Psychologists
have also tried to make sense of our dreams and unconscious minds but none have been quite as
successful as Freud and his theories on psychoanalysis, the different aspects of the unconscious mind
(id, superego, and ego), wish fulfillment, etc. It is through the work...show more content...
However, this theory only goes as far as explaining why we experience nightmares, not why we
dream of normal or extraordinary things (Turner, Why Do We Dream? Modern Theories of
Dreaming). One of Freud's most popular dream theories is that on wish–fulfillment. What this means
is that we dream of things we would like to happen or want to be real. Freud developed this theory
after working with a particularly difficult patient, Irma. Freud was worried about her because her
treatment was not going as well as he wanted and he was feeling guilty. One night he dreamed that
he had met Irma at a party and examined her, he then saw a formula for a drug given to her by
another doctor and realized her condition was the result of an unsterile syringe, thus, relieving him of
his guilt (McLeod, Sigmund Freud). This is an example of wish–fulfillment because he had wished
Irma's condition was not his fault and his dream fulfilled this wish by allowing him to blame
someone else. "Freud distinguished between the manifest content of a dream (what the dreamer
remembers) and the latent content, the symbolic meaning of the dream (i.e. the underlying wish).
The manifest content is often based on the events of the day. The process whereby the underlying
wish is translated into the manifest content is called dream–work. The purpose of dream–work is to
transform the forbidden wish into a non–threatening form, thus reducing anxiety and allowing us to
continuing sleeping." (McLeod, Sigmund

Essay on Personal Narrative- My Dream
Personal Narrative– My Dream
I picture myself center stage in the most enormous and fantastically beautiful theater in the world.
Its walls and ceilings are covered in impeccable Victorian paintings of angels in the sky. A single ray
of light shines down upon my face, shining through the still, silent darkness, and all attention is on
me and me alone. The theater is a packed house; however, my audience is not that of human beings,
but rather the angels from the paintings on the walls come alive, sitting intently in the rows of plush
seats. Their warmth encompasses my body, and I know at that moment that it is time to begin.
I open my mouth. From deep inside my soul a melody flows out of my chest, off of my tongue, and

My whole world is aglow.
For those precious moments, everything is right, and then I am alone. The angels have
disappeared, yet the stage is still mine, and suddenly, from out of nowhere, a piano begins to play.
I can't see it, but I can feel it in every cell of my body, and my voice again takes charge and rushes
out to court the empty notes of the piano. The two become one, and never before have the
theater's walls heard such awesome music. In this enormous theater, I am alone, but I have never
felt so fulfilled in my life. I look out to the very last row of empty seats, but there appears a man. A
moment of shock and fear is quickly overridden by a quieting peacefulness. The piano stops playing,
leaving my voice the only noise in the arena.
The melody I sing slows down to a soft and calm ballad that I sing wholeheartedly for the man, all
the while with a locked gaze into the man's eyes. His eyes are a mirror. They show me myself. They
show me my beauty – my beauty on the inside that I never allow myself to see. He shows me who I
am meant to be. The ballad ends. There is silence, but a continuous locking of eyes. They are the
most beautiful eyes I have ever seen – more beautiful than in my dreams. The silence continues, and
my feeling of peace continues, until finally I say, "Yes, I understand."
In an instance He is gone. I take one last minute to breathe in the emptiness of the stage and to

It Is A Dream Essay
When somebody thinks about a dream they think about something big like being a millionaire
but it could just be to get a dream job or go somewhere in the world. I believe that it is worth is to
dream. In the end a dream gives someone something to work for at life and to keep pushing on for
it also makes them feel good to look forward to something in the future say that they finally get to
go to that place that they have dreamt of going to the anticipation of them going there make them
feel good about themselves because they worked so hard for it. In class we read books about dreams
we read documents about dreams and how some people believe in dreams and how some people
don't. We talked to other people in our class and what their opinion was on dreams.
I believe it is worth it to dream because it gives a person something to work for. Some people
believe that if somebody just sits around and dreams, then it will come true. Some people now how
dreams work, they have to work for a dream rather than just sitting and waiting their whole life. We

Descriptive Essay : My Dream
In my dream, I am in a small boat in rough waters. It is a dark night, with a full moon, dark clouds
filling the horizon. I am sitting in a small wooden boat in the ocean or large lake. I cannot see
land in any direction. The waters are rough, with large waves rocking the boat. The waves are so
rough they are causing water is spray into my face. I am afraid that the boat will tip over and I
will drown. I hold on to the sides with both hands. Suddenly up ahead I can see large rocks in the
water, large waves crashing against the dark gray slick sides. My boat is going to hit them.
Suddenly I am traveling between the rocks standing stark and cold on both sides. My small boat
travels between several of them and into a rushing river. I am full of dread, I will certainly sink
and drown. I travel down the rushing river. There are high, dark cliffs on both sides. In the
distance I can see the cliffs ending and the river disappearing out of my sight. As I travel closer and
closer I can hear the sounds of a waterfall. I travel down the river, between the cliffs and over a large
waterfall. I fall from a great height, walking up in my bed, still filling as though I will drown.
Working With The Dream A small boat in rough water feels like I am out of control. Control is an
allusion. It is dark and I do not know where I am or where I am going. I am in a small boat alone
like life that is sometimes solitary and must be traveled alone. Life can sometimes feel rough

A Dream : Having A Dream
Having a dream and living with passion is very important because I believe living without passion
is like being dead. Someone like Tony Hawk could agree. Tony Hawk has been a professional
skateboarder for over 24 years. However, he did not receive that title overnight; Tony got his first
skateboard when he was only 9 years old. Since then, Tony worked extremely hard and put a lot of
his focus on skateboarding. He did it because that was his Dream. Tony's Dream was frowned upon
by many of his teachers and adults alike. One of his teachers even told him that he "would never
make it in the workplace if he didn't follow directions exactly" (Hawk), but he never gave up his
Dream. He kept working hard and eventually became a pro at the young age of 15.
I want to follow my dreams. I believe everyone should follow their dreams and be happy. I feel
that I relate to Ying Ying Yu a lot because when I was young, I told my mom I wanted to become a
surgeon. When my mom heard this, she looked so happy. I felt like I was making her proud with
my high grades and my slightly above average IQ. For the next 4 years following, I thought that
was what I wanted to do with my life. I thought that was what would make me happiest. However
recently, I've been thinking about that a lot recently. I would always find myself doubting myself.
Do I really want to go through four years of undergraduate study, four years of medical school

happened to you?'' Jake shakes his head in confusion, the doctor continues "Well about a month
ago you got in a car wreck with what I suppose was a couple of your friends, I am sorry to tell you
this, but none of them survived. You were in a coma, and even I, from all my years of experience,
never thought that you would wake up from it''.
Jake layed there, thinking about the dream he just had. He stared right into the doctor's eyes, with
the news he just received he felt horrible. Jake spoke up "What has happened during the month that
I was gone?''. His mom yelled at him saying "You missed graduation day! Your girlfriend moved

EDUCATION ACT 2050
FEMALES ARE PROHIBITED A FORMAL EDUCATION.
As I run, my feet kiss the soil and the wind caresses my skin and hair. My body is a raging fire;
my lungs are suffocating and my muscles feel as though they are melting, like ice cream on a
sunny day. However, with each step I progress towards the river. The pain is forgotten and like a
machine, I steadily place one foot in front of the other – thump, thump, thump. I am a bird: free,
independent and powerful. Finally I reach the endless expanse of water, tinged with hues of blue,
pink and orange – a mirror for the effervescent sky.
My mother used to tell me that learning was like running. It is a journey towards the beautiful,
ever–changing sea of knowledge. At times it is wearisome but in the long run, you progress:
intellectually, morally, and physically.
"Each drop of knowledge you obtain is more valuable than gemstones," she told me as we were
preparing Kabuli pulao for my youngest brother's first day at school.
Education is the key that freed my mother from the cage of child marriage, and allowed her to free
others too. She was a teacher of Rokhshana Girls School in our hometown, Kabul. Teaching was her
passion; even at home, she would chirp about literature and mathematics.
Often, she complained about families forcing their daughters to leave school. Sometimes she would
drown in a pool of depression, knowing that opportunities were being slashed, lifetimes were halved,
and the very act of living was to

A Weird Dream Essay : A Strange Dream
I jolted awake in fear. I had a dream. A weird dream. A vivid dream. It was full of people shouting
and bright flashes of light. It was confusing yet clear, like some part of me understood it. I didn't
know it would be important then but now I know. How? Well, it happened like this... It was a
bright winter's day. I was strolling through the city with my friends Isabella and Phoebe. We were
heading to the pancake kitchen. We agreed earlier in the day to go there for lunch. After we were
assigned a table, we searched through the menu for the perfect meal. The interior of the place was
homey and warm. The atmosphere excited and joyful. As we waited for our meals we talked about
everything that had been going on. I told them about the weird...show more content...
At first glance, it just seemed like a graffiti–covered wall but if you look just a little harder, you'll be
able to see the outline of a door. I pointed it out to my friends and we looked at it in wonder.
Reaching out tentatively, I traced the faint outline of the door. I stopped and we stared at it
expectantly. Nothing happened. Isabella reached out and pressed on the strange symbol. Then
the ground started shaking and the wall started creaking and rumbling. Then the door sunk down
into the ground and a dark hallway appeared. I stepped in and lights started turning on. I gestured
for my friends to follow and we ventured into the unknown. We emerged into a large meeting
room that was brightly lit. There were a few people sitting near the head of the large table in the
middle of the room. The second we stepped into the room, they stopped their discussion and stared
at us with piercing gazes. They started walking towards us with stony faces and tense postures.
The man leading the group stopped a few meters in front of us and inspected us. Then in a
booming voice, he called for reinforcements. Three men entered the room casually. They looked
around the room and tensed up when they saw us. They started moving towards us at an alarmingly
fast pace. We were frozen on the spot and couldn't do anything except look at each other. The men
grabbed our hands and handcuffed them together before dragging us to the group of people and
dropping us at their feet. We

Narrative Essay About Having A Dream
Everyone has a dream. Whether it's small or big...we all have one. We also give up on them. We get
stuck in the idea that our ideas are too far–fetched either because of other people's comments or
because of our own self–doubt. We allow ourselves to forget about them and move on to things we
believe are better for us. To things that although don't make us happy, are what society tells us is the
right way to live. It's hard to have a dream and keep it. The world we live in today is so cruel that a
lot of times we don't even bother to dream anymore. We've gotten to the point where dreaming is just
that. A dream.
Yet, for my mom, that wasn't the case.
My mother was born on March 24, 1973, in a small village in Guatemala. She grew up there...show

She sat me down and said well why not do both. I remember when she said that I was so happy.
We began to think of how I could do both and came up with the idea of a singing lawyer. It was
probably the worst idea we've ever had. I don't even think it would have worked out well either, but
it was the fact that I could have done it and my mom would be completely okay with it and made it
seem perfectly normal that helped me to never quit on my dreams.
Her experience growing up wasn't at all how she made mine. Her mother and step father never
encouraged or supported her. Growing up my mother struggled a lot. She had to grow up a lot
faster than most kids and had to deal with the real world way before she should have had to. She
was never pushed to do better or told that her dreams could come true.
Since she was little she was always having to take care of her three sisters. She wasn't allowed to
go out a lot so she was always home studying or in her room. She was so restricted in her own home
that even now I can't imagine how terrible that must have felt. To constantly have to worry not only
about yourself but for other people when you haven't even reached puberty.
Her stepfather was the worst of all. He would always put her down and would try to make her feel
like nothing. She didn't even have protection from her own mother, because her mom would never
say anything about it. She just let it happen.
My mom

Dream Definition Essay
A dream, what is a dream exactly? Scientifically, it's thoughts, images, and sensations occurring in
one's mind as they are in their deepest slumber. More specifically, images or thoughts that have no
connection with one another. It's just a randomized scenery that only last for a small ounce of time
until you awaken. But, I don't think that's all to a dream. No, I feel that a dream has more worth than
people think. Indeed, they are collages of what we have seen or thought about throughout our lives.
Maybe they could be messages or riddles trying to grasps your consciousness' attention. Although, if
dreams do have meaning behind them, well for me to grasps the concept of mine is unreachable.
At the age of 74, I have been limited to a specific...show more content...
I'm in a type of evening gathering, or masquerade ball, seated at a fancy table. When I look down
at my body it's completely different from what I look like in the real world. My skin is as dark
and smooth as it was when I was 23, and my hair is as inky and curly as I remember it to be before
it started turning grey. But that's not the best part, the amazing bit is when I look down and see the
same beautiful, off shoulder, peach dress, decorated with a small flower sash on my waist, and
gorgeous patterns and swirls of gold across the top half that fade out the closer they get to the denser
bottom.
Above the great dance floor, on a high balcony stood the orchestra, controlled by phantoms of the
festivity. The spirits shaped a long string of stunning notes into the air, accompanying the twirling
guests on the level beneath them. Crowding the dance floor were many couples, faces hidden by
masks of many designs, spinning and weaving with rhythm amongst each other's figures. The noises
of clinking dishes, the chatting of people, and laughing mixed with the musicians' melodies released
a relaxing sensation for me to absorb through my

A Dream Essay Writing

  • 1. Narrative Essay About My Dream When people ask me, "what's your earliest memories?" I always have this weird response. Whether it was a dream I had when I was little, or truly experiences from the womb, who knows. Yet they still remain vivid in my mind. I can imagine myself "popping into existence" and just floating in a void, no realization of my body, just me existing. But even then I knew I was someone special, someone set apart from the rest. For what reasons I had no clue of yet. At the time of my birth, my parents were here over in the states in Wisconsin, though at the time they were living in Japan, as my dad was serving as an air traffic controller at the military base and my mom being an en I remember virtually nothing from Japan, as when I was only...show more content... Following the service, we'd head downstairs for snacks and coffee. I didn't dare taste that filthy coffee, but I could easily grab myself some of my mom's homemade cherry coffeecake and some little debbies' snacks. While all the other adults would make small talk above us, us little kids would goof around and play. Except I often didn't play with the others, I'd find myself a good corner and focus my attention intently on one individual toy. This is how playtime usually went for me. I studied the physics and used my senses to gather information about the toy. After that little bit of time, it would be time for Sunday school over at the parsonage. There the pastor's wife, with her short white hair would have worksheets–o–plenty for us to fill out as she taught the lesson. We'd learn about Adam and Eve, Noah, David, Jonah, Jesus, Paul...all the typical Biblical characters you'd imagine. Of course they were a bit sanitized to get rid of the messiness that was portrayed in the Bible due to our age, but it was mostly the same message. Though sometimes, we'd get lucky and get to watch a VHS of Veggietales or Superbook! Afterwords, since most of the time my parents were finishing up in Bible study, I'd go lay on the grass in front of the church and gaze up into the clouds. I'd try to come up with shapes that were forming as I'd listen to the loud buzz of all the cars driving on the freeway right by us (yes, the church was Get more content on HelpWriting.net

I'm a person that believes that dreams and goals are what we live for, facing obstructions and handling them are suspension of live, and what we love is the fuel that keeps us moving toward our dreams. For me life is like a path a long one. A path that has splinters and nails, a path that sometimes is so dark that u don't know where you're heading to, but at the end of that path there's a light the light that we're all heading to. At that path you meet people on your way; some may leave remarkable things and touches on you, others may leave scares. Along that long path of mine, I've faced tigers and lions, wholes and logs, but I never gave up I kept on standing after...show more content... I don't just want to be a normal surgeon that has a daily routine; I want to be a person that changed something in the world, a person that invented a new thing on Earth a device, surgery, medicine, or perhaps even just a formula. Simply I want to be one of a kind, because I know there is something different in me something unique something that makes me different from others. That's only one of my dreams, but that's the biggest one. That goal is what I'm looking forward to accomplish through my studies. Let's now look to my passion which is writing. Writing is something I really enjoy, I can sit write and write for hours without even getting tired a bit. A pen that describes and gets out of you everything you feel about something and just puts it on a paper that's writing for me. It's something that gets out of you creativity, gets out of you beautiful things that you might not even know that it's there. Although writing is my passion its also one of my hobbies, other hobbies include horseback riding, drawing, and last but not least reading. Horses are animals that I admire since I was young, and I love riding them. One of the things I like most about horses is the sound their feet make while they run. That sound, oh it's the sound of power; the sound of running toward dreams, that sound Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. Sleeping and Dreaming Essay Each night without fail our eyes grow heavy and our minds tired, and dreaming we drag ourselves to bed and normally fall asleep quickly and peacefully off to dream land we go. Why is this though? Why do we sleep every night? Why do we awake with dream fresh in our heads? How important is this most basic human routine to our survival? What happens when it is disturbed? Sleeping is extremely important for all mammals, but humans especially. Without sleep we are unable to function properly and at our fullest abilities. When we sleep we grow, and it is an opportunity for us to dream which has many benefits. Sleep is also a way for us to relieve ourselves of stress. Sleeping is a very unique process, performed only by creature with brains...show more content... The brains electrical activity is able to be measured with an electroencephalograph (EEG). The EEG measures your brain activity or brain waves. When you are awake and alert you exhibit beta waves which are small and fast, but immediately before sleep and when you are relaxed and allowing your mind to wander you exhibit alpha waves, and during deep sleep there are large slow waves called delta waves (2). It resulted in major leap in what was known about sleeping. The first phase of modern sleep research is roughly considered to be 1928 through 1953 (1). A lot of new information about sleeping was gained during this time period. The brains electrical activity is able to be measured with an electroencephalograph (EEG). The EEG measures your brain activity or brain waves. When you are awake and alert you exhibit beta waves which are small and fast, but immediately before sleep and when you are relaxed and allowing your mind to wander you exhibit alpha waves (2). Aside from noticing night and day and clocks our body has its own system to tell us when to sleep and when to wake, our circadian rhythm. The human body naturally runs on a twenty five hour clock, so living on a twenty four hour schedule is often hard on the body because it loses an hour each day. On top of this natural loss most people do not get the right amount of sleep each night which can cause a whole host of problems. This is part of Get more content on HelpWriting.net

My Dream At A Great University We all have dream in our lives whether it is about attending a dream university, or having a dream career, job, or working for some big company, or even marrying your dream man/woman. As we grow older, our dreams evolve. For example, when you're a child, your dream is to be in 12th grade; at least that was my dream, when I was in 2nd grade. They can be daydreams, when we're awake, wishing and hoping for something more (bigger and better) than we already have, or the way we hope things should and would be. Next there is the wish, this is when there is a strong desire for a specific thing, a longing for one particular thing. Then there is the nightmare. They are the dreams that are very disturbing, full of fear and horror. They are often a very scary event played out while one is asleep, although we do not know we are asleep. I wish him to her father, SHR 1. 2. 60." To wish for something is similar to a daydream; however, it is usually for a particular thing, like a bigger and better house or car. Think of it: We can look deep within our hearts and dream of a better situation for ourselves and our families; dream of better financial lives and better emotional or physical lives; certainly dream of better spiritual lives. But what makes this even more powerful is that we have also been given the ability to not only dream but to pursue those dreams, and not only to pursue them, but the cognitive ability to actually lay out a plan and strategies (setting goals) to achieve those dreams. • 7. Dream Analysis Essay The Meaning of a Dream The best part of a long, hard–working day is when you finally get to lay in your bed, close your eyes and let your imagination run free. As you sleep your mind takes you to another place far away from the real world. You begin to dream. Over the night, you may have several dreams. In the morning, you may wake up and wonder what your dreams were suppose to mean for you and your life. By analyzing your dream, it "gives a true picture of the 'subjective state'–how we really feel about ourselves–which the conscious mind cannot or will not give" (Wietz 289). In order to find the meaning of a dream, you have to pick out the most important symbols and define them. But you may be wondering what exactly is a symbol?...show more content... My dream began in a huge mansion late one night. I began to walk down the long, narrow hall. Bright flashes of lightning lit up the hallway for seconds at a time and bangs of thunder shook the whole house. Candles were lined up along my path to light my way slightly. As I walked further and further, I approached the end of the hall where a full sized statue stood. It was standing in shadows and so I had to get close to see it well. All of a sudden, the statue lifted up his solid steel foot with the worn sole of his shabby shoe facing me. It was trying to show me something on the bottom but it was too dark for me to see. I was frightened and began to run in the opposite direction down the hall. Then I woke up. What could this dream mean for my life and me? I wanted to find out. The lightning was one symbol the really stood out from the rest. As a symbol, the lightning could "represent...energy and a fantastic, altering force. It is generally a positive dream symbol which represents the dreamers 'awakened' state of consciousness. At times, a sudden shift in awareness, or unpredictable news, may shock us and leave us feeling anxious. However, enlightenment of any kind has long term positive implications" (Ivin). The form of the lightning could transform its meaning. "If you see strong lightning in your dream you will find yourself the recipient of a fantastic money making idea that really works. And if you see lightning flash from the sky and Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Life is but a dream, never would I have imagined that I'd be a high school senior on the brink of my future after the 11th and 12th of September 2016, my life changed. September 11th I had been whipped with a belt from the crown of my head to the soles of my feet, standing at the door of my home that I would soon have to leave, no tears fell from my cheek fore I was reminded of my savior on the cross. From that moment on a knew my life was about to change. September 12th, the day began with an attempted overdose by two amazing women and a loved one who lost his life's work on the very day that he was born. So close to the unobtainable American Dream, mine had been deferred. Life is ever changing. Extracted from the comfort of my hometown, I had the opportunity to attend one of the best schools in Mobile County. Faced with many challenges I managed to make lifelong friends, set an example for others, and learn to accept and respect perspectives that are not my own. I had come from a small town with people who were simple minded and were afraid to push the envelope. The change in location exposed me to a more diverse student body and equipt me with the tools I needed to expand my intellect and world view. I was chosen to be a peer tutor on the special education hall, frowned upon by my Ap teachers who encouraged me to drop the class. I am immensely grateful to have been among such intelligent individuals. My unit focused on students with Asperger Syndrome, a developmental disorder affecting ability to effectively socialize and communicate. I had built relationships with the students and immediately fell in love with their ability to be brutally honest. I was one of few who appreciated their honesty and they accepted my friendship because of it. The truth hurts but so does life. That was something I needed in such a dark time in my life, a meeting with reality itself. They allowed me to see the beauty in the struggle. They taught me to be honest with myself. My purpose in life had gone missing in a bowl of Campbell's number soup. All my life I've been a series of numbers, not a Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 11. Essay On Living The Dream Living the Dream: An Analysis on Why We Dream and Freud's Early Work Living the Dream: An Analysis on Why We Dream and Freud's Early Work It happens every night, whether you remember it or not and they can affect us long after we experience them. They are dreams and they continue to remain one of the biggest mysteries of the human mind. Psychologists have tried to comprehend why we dream and what our dreams mean but have yet to discover the truth behind them. Psychologists have also tried to make sense of our dreams and unconscious minds but none have been quite as successful as Freud and his theories on psychoanalysis, the different aspects of the unconscious mind (id, superego, and ego), wish fulfillment, etc. It is through the work...show more content... However, this theory only goes as far as explaining why we experience nightmares, not why we dream of normal or extraordinary things (Turner, Why Do We Dream? Modern Theories of Dreaming). One of Freud's most popular dream theories is that on wish–fulfillment. What this means is that we dream of things we would like to happen or want to be real. Freud developed this theory after working with a particularly difficult patient, Irma. Freud was worried about her because her treatment was not going as well as he wanted and he was feeling guilty. One night he dreamed that he had met Irma at a party and examined her, he then saw a formula for a drug given to her by another doctor and realized her condition was the result of an unsterile syringe, thus, relieving him of his guilt (McLeod, Sigmund Freud). This is an example of wish–fulfillment because he had wished Irma's condition was not his fault and his dream fulfilled this wish by allowing him to blame someone else. "Freud distinguished between the manifest content of a dream (what the dreamer remembers) and the latent content, the symbolic meaning of the dream (i.e. the underlying wish). The manifest content is often based on the events of the day. The process whereby the underlying wish is translated into the manifest content is called dream–work. The purpose of dream–work is to transform the forbidden wish into a non–threatening form, thus reducing anxiety and allowing us to continuing sleeping." Its walls and ceilings are covered in impeccable Victorian paintings of angels in the sky. A single ray of light shines down upon my face, shining through the still, silent darkness, and all attention is on me and me alone. The theater is a packed house; however, my audience is not that of human beings, but rather the angels from the paintings on the walls come alive, sitting intently in the rows of plush seats. Their warmth encompasses my body, and I know at that moment that it is time to begin. I open my mouth. For those precious moments, everything is right, and then I am alone. The angels have disappeared, yet the stage is still mine, and suddenly, from out of nowhere, a piano begins to play. I can't see it, but I can feel it in every cell of my body, and my voice again takes charge and rushes out to court the empty notes of the piano. The two become one, and never before have the theater's walls heard such awesome music. In this enormous theater, I am alone, but I have never felt so fulfilled in my life. I look out to the very last row of empty seats, but there appears a man. A moment of shock and fear is quickly overridden by a quieting peacefulness. The piano stops playing, leaving my voice the only noise in the arena. The melody I sing slows down to a soft and calm ballad that I sing wholeheartedly for the man, all the while with a locked gaze into the man's eyes. His eyes are a mirror. They show me myself. They show me my beauty – my beauty on the inside that I never allow myself to see. He shows me who I am meant to be. The ballad ends. There is silence, but a continuous locking of eyes. They are the most beautiful eyes I have ever seen – more beautiful than in my dreams. The silence continues, and my feeling of peace continues, until finally I say, "Yes, I understand." In an instance He is gone. I take one last minute to breathe in the emptiness of the stage and to Get more content on HelpWriting.net

In class we read books about dreams we read documents about dreams and how some people believe in dreams and how some people don't. We talked to other people in our class and what their opinion was on dreams. I believe it is worth it to dream because it gives a person something to work for. Some people believe that if somebody just sits around and dreams, then it will come true. Some people now how dreams work, they have to work for a dream rather than just sitting and waiting their whole life. • 14. Descriptive Essay : My Dream In my dream, I am in a small boat in rough waters. It is a dark night, with a full moon, dark clouds filling the horizon. I am sitting in a small wooden boat in the ocean or large lake. I cannot see land in any direction. The waters are rough, with large waves rocking the boat. The waves are so rough they are causing water is spray into my face. I am afraid that the boat will tip over and I will drown. I hold on to the sides with both hands. Suddenly up ahead I can see large rocks in the water, large waves crashing against the dark gray slick sides. My boat is going to hit them. Suddenly I am traveling between the rocks standing stark and cold on both sides. My small boat travels between several of them and into a rushing river. I am full of dread, I will certainly sink and drown. I travel down the rushing river. There are high, dark cliffs on both sides. In the distance I can see the cliffs ending and the river disappearing out of my sight. As I travel closer and closer I can hear the sounds of a waterfall. I travel down the river, between the cliffs and over a large waterfall. I fall from a great height, walking up in my bed, still filling as though I will drown. Working With The Dream A small boat in rough water feels like I am out of control. Control is an allusion. It is dark and I do not know where I am or where I am going. Since then, Tony worked extremely hard and put a lot of his focus on skateboarding. He did it because that was his Dream. Tony's Dream was frowned upon by many of his teachers and adults alike. Isabella reached out and pressed on the strange symbol. Then the ground started shaking and the wall started creaking and rumbling. Then the door sunk down into the ground and a dark hallway appeared. I stepped in and lights started turning on. I gestured for my friends to follow and we ventured into the unknown. We emerged into a large meeting room that was brightly lit. There were a few people sitting near the head of the large table in the middle of the room. The second we stepped into the room, they stopped their discussion and stared at us with piercing gazes. They started walking towards us with stony faces and tense postures. The man leading the group stopped a few meters in front of us and inspected us. Then in a booming voice, he called for reinforcements. Three men entered the room casually.
