1. SIMPLE PAST TENSE: PASADO
SIMPLE
El Pasado Simple es un tiempo verbal que se utiliza para describir acciones que han
sucedido en un tiempo anterior y que ya han finalizado, por ejemplo:
She cleaned her house. Ella limpió su casa.
I broke the window. Yo rompí la ventana.
Aquí vemos su conjugación que en el español equivale al Pretérito Indefinido. Observa
que la estructura de la oración es similar a la del Presente Simple:
Tanto en la forma interrogativa como en negativa se utiliza como auxiliar DID que es la
forma pasada del verbo "TO DO" y acompaña al verbo principal en su forma infinitiva.
En las negaciones puede utilizarse la forma contraída de DID NOT o sea DIDN'T. En
el cuadro superior se emplea el verbo To Play (Jugar) a modo de ejemplo.
2. Al expresar una oración en Pasado Simple se entiende que la acción no guarda relación
con el presente, como vemos en los siguientes casos:
He lost the keys. Él perdió las llaves.
(Puede que en el presente las haya encontrado).
She lent me a book. Ella me prestó un libro.
(Puede que ya se lo haya devuelto).
También es posible indicar el momento en que se desarrolla la acción para indicar el
tiempo con mayor precisión:
They saw the movie last night. Ellos vieron la película anoche.
We went to London yesterday. Nosotros fuimos a Londres ayer.
Para poder formar una oración en tiempo pasado debemos distinguir dos tipos: VERBOS
REGULARES y VERBOS IRREGULARES.
En el primero de los casos forman su Pasado Simple añadiendo la terminación ED al
infinitivo, mientras que los irregulares reciben ese nombre por no seguir un patrón
determinado y en este caso deben estudiarse individualmente.
REGLA GENERAL
Usamos el pasado para hablar de situaciones que ocurrieron hace un tiempo.
Normalmente usamos adverbios de tiempo para apoyar la frase como:
Ayer/Yesterday,la semana pasada/Last week. etc.
El interrogativo se hace con el auxiliar did y el infinitivo del verbo conjugado
El interrogativo se hace con el auxiliar did y el infinitivo del verbo conjugado
La forma afirmativa con el pasado del verbo conjugado.
3. En el caso de los verbos regulares se forma añadiendo "ed" al verbo
Si el verbo acaba en consonante + y la y se transforma en i al formar el pasado
Cry + ed = cried
Si el verbo acaba en e se le añade sólo “d”.
Decide + ed = decided
Usa la segunda columna de la listas de verbos.
La forma negativa con didn't y el infinitivo del verbo conjugado.
Se usa para describir sucesos del pasado, así pues va frecuentemente
acompañado de adverbios de tiempo.

Last year. El año pasado
Last week. La semana pasada
Last weekend. El fin de semana pasado
Last month. El mes pasado
El pasado simple requiere el aprendizaje de los verbos regulares e irregulares.
4. La respuesta corta se hace con el pronombre y did para la respuesta afirmativa
y didn't para la negativa.
Did you go? Yes,I did.
No, I didn't .
Recuerda que en las respuestas cortas hay que usar los pronombres y nunca los
nombres.
Did Mary go? Yes,she did.
No, she didn't.
ESTRUCTURA
1. Affirmative Sentences (Frases afirmativas)
o Ejemplos:
o I wanted to dance. (Yo quería bailar.) She was a doctor. (Ella era
doctora.)
o They learned English. (Ellos aprendieron inglés.)
o We believed him. (Nosotros le creímos.)
Sujeto + verbo principal.
2. Negative Sentences (Frases negativas)
o Ejemplos:
o I didn't want to dance. (No quería bailar.)
Sujeto + verbo auxiliar ("to do") + "not" + verbo principal.
Nota: En frases negativas, el verbo auxiliar va en el pasado ("did") y el
verbo principal se queda en el infinitivo.
3. Interrogative Sentences (Frases interrogativas)
o Ejemplos:
o Did you want to dance? (¿Querías bailar?)
o Was she a doctor? (¿Era doctora?)
o Did they learn English? (¿Aprendieron ingles?)
o Did you believe him? (¿Le creíste?)
5. Verbo auxiliar ("to do") + sujeto + verbo principal?
Nota: Como en frases negativas, el verbo auxiliar va en el pasado ("did")
y el verbo principal se queda en el infinitivo.

FUTURE: WILL- GOING TO
Futuro simple tiene dos formas diferentes: inglés. "Ir a", "hará" y Aunque las dos
formas a veces se pueden utilizar indistintamente, a menudo expresar dos significados
muy diferentes. Estos significados diferentes puede parecer demasiado abstracto al
principio, pero con el tiempo y la práctica, las diferencias se aclarará. Tanto la
"voluntad" y "va a ser" se refieren a un momento específico en el futuro.
LA ESTRUCTURA BÁSICA DEL FUTURO SIMPLE:

Nota: En el futuro simple el verbo no cambia de forma cuando se utiliza "he,
she, it" o cuando se habla en "tercera persona."

9. modal "will" con el sujeto.
Nota: La palabra "some" y "any" a veces significan lo mismo. La principal diferencia es
que "some" se suele utilizar para afirmativas y "any" para negativas y interrogativas.
