  2. 2. Dynamics of Personality  Jung also named psychic energy is libido  Libido works on two principles  Equivalence  Entropy
  3. 3. Equivalence  According to Jung person use libido for different works  If person use less libido for work other energy do not waste, but it can used for any other work is called equivalence
  4. 4. Entropy  Entropy mean flow of energy from higher level to lower, if one value become weak other will become powerful.  E.g. if one person is less interested in Math and more interested in psychology gradually will become masters in psychology but the power of Math solving will totally finish
  5. 5. Structure of personality  He named personality to psyche and consist of Interacting Systems 1- Conscious Ego 2- Personal unconscious 3- Complexes 4- Collective unconscious 5- Archetypes 6- Anima/ Animus

Conscious Ego  According to Jung Conscious ego is mind which made person’s perception, memory, thinking and emotions.  Conscious ego has relationship with personal ego and collective unconscious If conscious ego effected by one personality will become unstable 1- if conscious ego effected by personal unconscious personality will ordinary 2- And if conscious ego effected by collective unconscious personality will religious, lonely, silent etc
  7. 7. Personal Unconscious  P.U. consists of a such experiences which was part of conscious  According to Jung And Freud P.U. contains memories, impulses, wishes, faint perceptions and other experiences that have been suppressed or forgotten

Complexes  Ideas, feeling and memories relating to some particular thing are attracted to the nucleus and form a complex of particular thing  Each complex has a nucleus which acts as a kind of magnet attracting to its various experiences  Jung discussed mother, father, religious and sexual complexes

Archetypes  Such components by which could made Collective Unconscious are called archetypes  Jung identified many archetypes like baby, mother, God, death, angel, hell, scholar, magic unity, hero, earth, animal, demon or old wise man  Some archetypes have evolved, names  Persona  Anima  Animus  Self

Persona It is the mask which is worn by the person in response to the demands of social settings Shadow It is the darker self, the animalistic part of personality Anima the feminine archetypes in man is called Anima Animus the masculine archetype in women is called Animus Self the self try to synthesize all components of their personality, Jung called this unity self actualization

Collective Unconscious  The factors which are present in unconscious and produced by ancestry’s experiences is called C.U.  According to Jung Collective unconscious is the inherited, what persons learns as a result of experiences is substantially influenced by C.U.  Jung referred to each inherited predisposition contained in the C.U. from the beginning of life

Types of Personality 1- Introversion person tends to be quite, imaginative and more interested in ideas then in interacting with people, libido directed inward…less confident and resistant to the external environment 2- Extroversion person is outgoing and social…self confident in varieties of situation Jung believed that the mature, healthy, adult personality reflects both attitudes about equality
