  2. 2. AIM • To evaluate the efforts of the week to change an element of your life • To understand the purpose of personality tests and how the affect the way we work. • Consider how personality tests can create a perfect team dynamic.

Rectangle/Square Motto for this shape: • If you want a job done right, do it yourself. • Somebody who feels most comfortable with a stable environment with structure, regularity and clear directions on what to do. Likes things that are organised, systematic and orderly taking all rules and regulations into consideration. Will work on a task until it is finished, even if it is repetitious, cumbersome and lonely.
  9. 9. Triangle Motto for this shape: • I did it my way and so will you. • Triangle is goal oriented. Enjoys planning something out and then doing it. Gets motivated by the accomplishment. Will tend to look at big long-term issues, but might forget the details. When given a task will set a goal and work on a plan for it.
  10. 10. Circle Motto for this shape: • Forget your troubles, just get happy. • A Circle is social and communicative. No hard edges. S/he handles things by talking about them and smoothing things out with everybody. Communication is the first priority, and making sure there is harmony. When given a task, s/he will talk about it.
  11. 11. Squiggle Motto for this shape: • Dream the impossible dream. • A Squiggle is off-the-wall and creative. Feels best doing new and different things most of the time and gets bored with regularity. When given a task, will come up with bright ideas about it, but may not want to get on with it.

  13. 13. PERSONALITY TESTS The Type Dynamics Indicator (TDI) gives an assessment of type preferences, based on Jung's model of psychological type. The questionnaire assesses the classic dimensions of • • • • Extraversion-Introversion Sensing-Intuition Thinking-Feeling Judging-Perceptions It is an excellent starting point for personal insight and can be used for both personal and group development.

  19. 19. PERSONALITY TESTS Catalyst Catalysts are energetic change agents who are always looking for a new angle. Often pioneers and promoters of change, they look for active environments where they can discuss and debate new ideas. When with people they inject energy, innovation and fun into their activities. A potential entrepreneur?

PERSONALITY TESTS Key points: • We have looked at personality types and preferences. • We all have preferences, but these may change over time and you may not agree with the your test results – both of these are OK. • Gather as much information about yourself as possible (know your weaknesses, we all have some, and know your strengths - you can use these to the full)
  21. 21. CREATIVITY EXERCISE • Imagine Polo mints became obsolete! • What can be done with thousands and thousands of now useless Polo mints? • Write down your own ideas • Discuss in groups – more ideas? What could do with a paper clip? Together & Separately

CREATIVITY EXERCISE Creativity… …can be about using what you already have in a different way …coming up with new applications of things not in use anymore …working together to combine ideas. It is useful to break the concept down (round, hole in it, can be crushed, dissolves in water, white, small… etc.)
  23. 23. DIMENSIONS OF CREATIVITY Human brain: • Left hemisphere: rational and logical, verbal and analytic • Right hemisphere: intuitive, non-rational, holistic Vertical thinking vs lateral thinking
